The hotel is modern and situated in the heart of downtown. We had beautiful views of the Harbour from our room. Access to restaurants and local attractions was very easy and quick. The room was wonderful and had some nice amenities like automatic blinds.

Overall I thought the price was high but that's the price for staying in the city. The area wasn't quite what I expected but again more of a lack of research of what the city itself looked like. Also there was construction right outside the hotel however other than anesthetics it didn't really bother us, the noise could not be heard from our roo..

The ALT Hotel in St. John's Newfoundland, is located on the harbour in the heart of Jelly Bean Row. It's a photographer's paradise. My small dog, Sparky, and I roamed the streets snapping photographs of the wonderfully coloured houses and stores. The hotel is also close to the famous George Street the location of nightly live musical performances and Water Street with its vast selection of good restaurants. Loved the neighbourhood! Lynda L. Great view of St. John's harbour from the room. Convenient parking underneath (with somewhat tight entrance). Easy walking distance to George Street music venues, or the other direction (slightly further) to the Battery neighbourhood.

Room was prepaid but the desk clerk cheerfully charged me again on checkout. Once home, I found the double charge on my credit card statement. Not a happy discovery. So I sent the receipts to the hotel and asked for a refund. The answer was immediate. They had themselves discovered the double charge and already initiated a refund. Which came through in a couple of days, so happiness returned. Prompt and effective customer service! Still, my advice is to ask - out loud - when checking out, "Is this pre-paid?" Make them look it up. And know the answer yourself before you approach the counter. And always get a receipt/statement before you leave.

Best experience and value ever! And I’ve traveled! The staff was amazing and more importantly, consistently amazing and ready to offer any type of help, and providing great information anytime. They treat each other with respect which is not common. In other workplaces you’ll feel the staff being tense and watchful of themselves, here I see staff relaxed happy and open with team. Great job to management, refreshing to see the diversity of cultures coming through and it’s working! Can’t leave out the yummy potato bread ever, sour dough croissants. I shall return :))

Parking was quite narrow and pose danger of scratches so do be careful. Nothing to do with services nor the hotel. So just a note for caution to guests.

The staff are amazing. Friendly and helpful. The location is perfect for walking Sightseeing. The room a little smaller than some expect but modern and has everything you need. Views from either street side or harbour fantastic. Breakfast at the Terre restaurant was delicious. Easy to walk to many other great eating spots.

Great location. All staff courteous and helpful . Hotel room, lobby and public washrooms were neat and clean.

My only negative would be the breakfast. While every member of the staff there was exceptionally courteous and respectful, the food was at best marginal in terms of selection and quality ( my scone was rather stale so I ordered a muffin instead). As well, the system seemed to bog down with lineups especially when the young man had orders to fill for lattes ect..not his fault in any way.Maybe that should be his only job. Also, we stayed there for 5 nts ( Sept 15-19) and while bathroom was cleaned and towels replaced on the 16th, the bed wasn't made.

Fantastic hotel, great vibe, great amenities, Terre cafe is conveniently in the lobby, opens at 7am, earlier than most places in the downtown area. My room (queen room) was spacious, the room panel was very convenient with different lighting options. The staff (everyone from front desk staff to housekeeping) was very kind and accommodating.

The room was cool and modern with smart switches throughout. The location was great and the cafe in the lobby was unreal. the croissants were so buttery and delicious and the coffee was also great. The staff were also incredible - super friendly and nice.

We noticed the bathroom of our room wasn’t fully cleaned as it had someone’s soap container with hairy soap left on a ledge that wasn’t at eye level. We called down to the lobby and they were super quick to rectify it for us and offered us free breakfast at Terre. Everything else about the stay was incredible though.

The location, café and deck off the lobby overlooking Signal Hill and harbour were great! ALL the staff were wonderful. The bed was comfortable.

I thought the room was stuffed. Two queen beds... really? I think one king bed would be better. How often do 4 people share one hotel room? It would be crowded! The room size and amenities were very good. I will definitely stay again.

The hotel is very modern. With your keycard you can control your room lighting, blinds and room temperature. It’s is very well located, the staff was beyond helpful and I feel I got a lot of value for what I paid. I am really looking forward to have another stay at any ALT hotel. The coffee shop by the lobby is super nice too.
