We felt safe at property, they have staff at front and they help cross street to other side of property. The pools were awesome and saw holler monkeys and iguanas! Awesome sunsets at 6 pm and eat at hotel restaurant to watch sunset. Hotel can coordinate transportation from Liberia airport it takes 90 minutes. In the morning walk the beach to the right of hotel to watch surfers and find shells. Thursday night market about 15 minute walk from hotel with delicious food and local vendors with great merchandise. We bought bottled water in grocery store close by hotel. Sunscreen is expensive, make sure to bring a good supply.

It would be nice if hotel had filtered water station to fill water bottles.

This is a beautifully maintained property literally right on the beach in Tamarindo and located in the middle of the main strip in Tamarindo. You can walk to everything! The rooms are actually very large clean and comfortable with 2 queen beds and a balcony . We are a family of 4 - 2 teenagers. We were on the beach side ( room 225) and witnessed AMAZING sunsets.. We did not have a problem with noise but we were away from the bar/ restaurant . We found the rooms completely adequate for our needs as we spent most of our time up early enjoying Costa Rica. The staff is very helpful and nice. We found staff a bit reserved but not rude at all as some other reviewers have stated. We appreciated the visible security and safety of the hotel ( wear wristband) as Tamarindo beach is public with LOTS of peddlers selling their goods as well as an open air right on the street libby so you are sheltered from that on property and feel very secure.. There were plenty of lounge chairs for our use even during a popular week of school vacation .. There are chairs umbrellas on beach for rent, which we did one day, but preferred the being on property with only being a few steps from the beach. We tried all 3 pools and did not mind the very quick walk across the street to enjoy the amenities on that side of the street.. The property over there is lush beautiful and sheltered from noise of the bustling fun town. The large family pool is on that side with a swim up tiki bar as well. We read the petty reviews about towels and masks and for us it was not an issue as we were grateful just to travel again.. I can’t say enough about the generous breakfast buffet!!!! There is unlimited fresh fruit and juices .. There 2 espresso drink coffee machines .. Omelets and waffles to order as well as buffet of eggs rice and beans. There are pastries and bread yogurts and cereal .. We also ate at 3 restaurants .. Drinks on the patio at sunset are not to be missed and the food is delicious.

It’s minor but coming from the Northeast of US we are used to heavier blankets for sleeping not just a sheet. We found them in the closet! If I’m being picky would have liked waiter service walking around lounge chairs for a drink. Just a suggestion:)

I Liked the renovated side of the first floor ocean view room

We can’t select the ocean view rooms. For our 1st stay we had a quiet first floor room and when we rechecked in we got a 2nd floor ocean view BUT on a very noisy street for the same price and it’s not at all the same experience! Since you can’t guaranteed the 4 stars experience and for the same price depending on your luck you get a 3 stars I don’t think we’ll be back. And we’ve been coming several times to your hotel for almost 10 years. Front desk does not even welcome you, very impersonal. Too bad because little changes that could make it Perfect enjoyable guaranteed experience.

I am not a resort person. I do not like crowds and prefer a smaller, more intimate hotel. I like to experience the city I am in and am not looking for a large resort where you never leave the property. I booked Diria because it seemed to be the only hotel in the beach, in town, that allowed children. And it absolutely exceeded my expectations. While a large resort, it never seemed to crowded. It was always easy to find a lounge and feel out of the crowd. The rooms were ok, not luxury, but clean and as expected for the price point. However the pool, places to lounge and restaurants were equal to top resorts.

The rooms could have been a bit more lush. I wish we had nicer furniture on our large balcony.

The side we stayed in had beach views and was on the second floor. Rooms were good.air conditioning and had a fan. It was right in the centre of everything. Had parking and enough pools if you prefer pool to beach. Restaurants are part of the facility which means you can put it on your room and forget about the check.

The toilet seat sat right on the toilet paper holder there was no way to avoid moving over to use the paper. The shower only had one setting Luke warm water. I prefer hot showers . There was no lift on the side our room was located so stairs to get to our room was unexpected. We had to change rooms because our bed had no support which meant it collapsed in the middle. They did move us but we lost time, and items in the process. They compensated us with $100 but honestly the cost of the room meant we lost a night. There was no conditioner and the bathroom was tiny. The balconies were open which meant you could talk to your neighbours and hear them when outside. There are no usb outlets for charging.

I loved the location. In the heart of town. The beach view rooms are amazing, perfect view, amazing walking distance. Breakfast was very good and so much to choose from.

I always appreciate places to hang things, as there is never enough space to take out all stuff from a luggage for everyone, and that is fine. So places to hang and store are important. The staff at the bar outside the beach side were a little rude.

We had a room facing the beach, although the room was fairly small the view and location made up for it. The setting for absolutely stunning and we were blown away when we arrived. The hotel is set right on the beach with 3 pools and restaurant area overlooking the beach. As we stayed in a beach view room we were located in the main part of the hotel whilst the second part of the hotel is across the road where 2 of the larger pools are set. We enjoyed all the pools as well as lots of time on the beach. Breakfast buffer was exceptional with lots of option and restaurant was great for snacks when we didn't eat out. The hotel location is in a great location in Tamarindo and there's lots of restaurants surrounding which we enjoyed exploring including the Mercadito which is a must visit if you're a foodie.

Due to the location of the room it was a bit noisier in the evenings which I would expect.

This is a very large property right in the heart of Tamarindo - I think probably the only major beach front property. The beach is public so you have to pay for chairs on it but the property's lawn and a smaller pool is right there and provides plenty of chairs to lounge on just behind the beach. The patio and a restuaruant / bar is also right behind the beach and very well located - a nice place to spend time. Our room was across the main road. It appears that Diria has put quite a bit of money into this side of the resort. There are two very large pools and multiple buildings for rooms. The room we had was a bit on the small side for two full beds but comfortable and well appointed. The breakfast buffet is large, varied and quite good!

Not exceptional value but it was a very pleasant stay overall. On check-in, our shower did not work due to a clogged shower head (not sure why the previous guests didn't report that but the front desk helped us with allowing access to another room to shower while maintenance quickly addressed our issue and put in a new shower head - well handled!)

The location was fabulous...on the beach. But the other rooms and pools were merely across the street and look wonderful. Having breakfast available was great. It could have been tastier. The day/night menus were good. The rooms look a bit dated but having the view was outstanding! I wish they had dryers for guests to use to dry out clothes and towels during the rainy season. Overall, we were very happy with this choice!

The facility was beautiful and the best location in Tamarindo. We had the ocean front room that was steps from the beach. We went to all the pools and absolutely loved the breakfast! We enjoyed all of the restaurants on property and our kids were loved having everything in walking distance from our room. We felt very safe and parked our rental car with no issues in secured parking at the hotel.

There was construction going on, but it never bothered us.
