Excellent location in the Diocletian Palace, a 5-minute walk from the island ferries and the bus/train station, a 15-minute walk from the city beach. For a culture / history buff, staying in the midst of all the cultural and historical attraction is ideal.

Having a readily available roof place for casual suntanning would be a bonus. Some people may prefer this to the city beaches that tend to be overcrowded, loud or a tad dirty. It is not of the hotel's doing but the price of the airport taxi (EUR60-70), as guaranteed and organized by the hotel for a 25-km drive is steep. It is even worse when one tries to book a taxi on one's own, scams abound in Split and some end up paying EUR100-200 for a ride. Shocking. Likewise, a half-a-litre bottle of water in the airport costs EUR3.50, which must be the most expensive in Europe or even on the Northern hemisphere. These all-important details are off-putting to tourists. Yet, I would not consider revisiting Split, though I immediately fell in love with this city.

I sometimes wonder when I read reviews whether the reviewers actually stayed in the same hotel as I did. Of course, not every bedroom is the same and staff may behave differently to each other as well as to guests. Every member of staff was friendly, helpful and polite - in fact pretty well delightful especially one of the lovely receptionists. Prior to travelling, the hotel was very quick to respond to queries and very helpful. The room we had was fine with a big jacuzzi bath, plenty of wardrobe space and very effective air conditioning. The breakfast was somewhat limited by the space available but provided a choice of juices, fresh fruit, cereals, teas and coffee, breads including a toaster, cold meats and cheese and a few hot options. It wasn't a big hotel buffet breakfast but adequate and appropriate for a small hotel in the middle of 16 century palace. We also managed to book the roof top jacuzzi which provides a unique private experience which was thoroughly enjoyable. Many thanks to all the staff that did so much to make our stay enjoyable.

On arrival our room safe was locked open - resolved pretty quickly. Our big jacuzzi wouldn't fill from the tap - only from the shower head which took rather longer. We couldn't get the app that supposedly lowers the barrier in our reserved parking space to work and had to call the hotel who sent someone round to lower it - we had to wait 10 minutes on two occasions. They need to be a little more pro-active in checking things and sorting them before the guests arrive. Getting luggage from the nearest road accessible point is a bit of a challenge - if you are wheeling your own make sure you know the step free route which is not obvious. The hotel will help if asked and helped us with our cases on check out. Set expectation appropriately and one should be happy.

The location of this hotel couldn’t be better. It was so central in the palace but also to the harbour, restaurants and all cultural areas. The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good and had plenty of seating. We had the family suite with balcony. The two beds for the kids were in an attic space so great for younger children or teenagers. Jacuzzi bath was fun and the although the rest of the room was small it was enough space for us and in this historic area no rooms will be huge. The balcony was amazing and definitely worth booking this particular room. Aircon was really good. We would recommend this hotel.

The shower was only a hand held shower head and with the jacuzzi been so large it took a while to fill the bath. Although only a small point the toiletries and hair dryer in the bathroom were very basic and not up to the standard of the rest of the hotel. There was a coffee machine in the room but nothing to be able to use it and no other extras (water, kettle, snacks) There was a safe and small fridge/mini bar and these were fine. To make the balcony more usable in the day an awning would have been amazing as no shade meant it was super hot although still great.

We have stayed at this hotel for one, and last, night of our vacation. The hotel is perfectly located inside of Diocletian’s Palace- and you are literally surrounded with most important historical landmarks like Jupiter’s temple, Peristil and Diocletian’s Basement. It’s very unusual but highly appreciated to be centrally located, and not to be exposed to noise. Great soundproofing job guys! We were sleeping like a babies! Rooms are very tastefully decorated, and beds are very comfortable. Shower pressure  is on point. Not only location and decoration deserves standing ovations, but staff, which were so welcoming, warm, and helpful with all our queries (restaurant recommendation, walking tour, transfer to airport..).. Every single member of staff was great. Breakfast was delicious and fresh, staff very attentive to guests needs. Amazing stay, would recommend highly!

Location was great. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Room had good air conditioning. Beds were very comfortable. Bathroom was large and separate shower was great. Breakfast offering were good and restaurant staff was very friendly.

It was very hard to find the hotel as it was in the Old Town with no vehicular access. My room did not require going up or down any stairs. Some/many of the rooms required going up approximately 8 to 10 steps. For some people those stairs would be a problem.

Room was very good. Nice en-suite bathroom. Hot and cold buffet breakfast was great. Plenty to choose from. The staff were all friendly and helpful. Recommended a couple of restaurants for our group and both were excellent quality at a reasonable price. Very quiet hotel with a lot of history and located in the pedestrian area of the city.

Only a minor grumble - no tea or coffee making facilities in the room (although there is a free to use machine in the breakfast area)

Property was easy to find and phenomenal staff, friendly, helpful and professional. Our room had ample space and a massive bathroom.

The other guests. While waiting on the reception for our taxi to leave, we witnessed some of the most entitled pathetic excuses of human beings treating the staff like rubbish for things outside of the hotels control (like one lady who couldn’t follow directions and got lost trying to find a restaurant the reception recommended). Again though to the staffs credit, they acted professionally and with utmost dignity.

Good breakfast with many options and during our 5-day stay nothing ran out and everything was fresh. It was also nice that you could eat breakfast outdoors. The location was excellent as you are inside the historical city center and all restaurants, shops, and services are nearby. Our room was quiet, clean, and tidied every day. The room had a mini fridge and good air conditioning. The hotel staff was always ready to help and really kind.

The room had no safety locker.

I was supposed to stay somewhere else but i called for information and the receptionist Ana was so incredibly friendly that I decided to stay here and I didn't t regret it one minute. All in this hotel is showing the intent of perfection. Big things and small things. The inclusive breakfast is really fantastic. Thanks to all the personnel and the manager.

I cannot think of anything that could be improved. The only place with lights that can be managed from the bed. With enough sockets to charge your laptop and your phones at the same time. Excellent restaurant recommendation. I felt sad to leave...I would not dream of going somewhere else...they even offered to come meet me on my way if I could not find it.

It is situated in the heart of a UNESCO site...lots of ancient buildings, twisty cobblestone lanes, great shops and restaurants too. Close to buses and ferries. Shuttle carts for the luggage of arriving and departing guests from within the walls of the Old City would be a welcome service for arriving and departing hotel guests.

It could have better street appearance and signage, as it's very easy to walk past without noticing it.
