Staff were all so helpful and pleased to help. I must give credit to housekeeping the room was very clean I was impressed. No dust anywhere as I go around with antibacterial wipes in all hotels and my wipes were clean . Fantastic job housekeeping staff. Restaurant staff rushed off their feet in the evening but coped really well . Delicious meal . Breakfast was ok staff needed to top food up more quickly and be aware . No milk in container for cereal , no cooked meats ( ham) beans ran out. No plates to put your food on . Poached eggs arrived after I had finished by cooked breakfast . I waited 18 minutes and they were rock hard . We will definitely be back to the hotel already booked for December but would not have breakfast but recommend evening meal .

The rooms are lovely and bed was so comfortable. breakfast was delicious!

The man at check in when we arrived at approximately 7.30pm was very abrupt/ignorant/rude. No particular issue occurred he just wasn’t very welcoming at all. The guest before us took up quite a bit of time and there was not even a courteous apology for the delay. We were originally in room 126 but the television channels were not working however this was promptly rectified and we were moved to another room

Location to the stadium where we were going next day is perfect (doorstep) and plenty of parking. Rooms were clean, comfortable and had everything you needed. Bar and restaurant downstairs with great breakfast and food options. However it was the staff who make this hotel amazing. All of the staff during our stay were friendly, helpful, willing to go above and beyond and added the icing on the cake for this trip and made it that little bit more special for my fiancée who was graduating. A huge special thank you to Graeme and Will who went the extra mile on our check in night for us!

Room Thermostat / Air didn’t work in one room and TV didn’t work in the other but this can happen anywhere

Fantastic location for concerts at the Stadium of Light. The venue is literally next door. The hotel was light and airy and the room was extremely comfortable - lovely comfy bigger than average single beds and a really good shower. An added bonus was a fridge in the room. The cooked breakfast was fantastic very fresh and tasty and the pastries were light and delicious. The staff were very helpful and friendly also. The hotel.is within walking distance of the metro and the train station. There are also lots of amenities nearby. The carvery we had for dinner was also very good value for money. I would definitely stay again if in the area.

warm reception, lovely staff, Bar, reception and Restaurant. spotlessly clean. free parking was appreciated great location and easy to find.

breakfast service food quality was poor. sausages tasted off. noticed everyone was leaving them, quite a bit of waste. bacon was undercooked and tough, dishes (crockery)were not replenished and no body was keeping the food or condiments and glasses and mugs replenished. I was so disappointed with the breakfast service and the lack of attention to this area. this was more notable as everything else was splendid.

Everything. nothing is too much for the staff, they’re always friendly and go above an beyond to try and accommodate you and your needs. Excellent location for the Aquatics Centre and Stadium of Light. Great restaurant. Very comfy and clean rooms. Excellent facilities. Perfect.

just a little point, and not really a problem. The guest laundry seemed to be getting used for staff/hotel use, which wasn’t too much of a pain as we had spares but during a swimming competition with wet towels etc it would have good to have been able to use the tumble dryer when we needed to.

hotel was right next to the venue we were attending a concert in. all members of staff we encountered were lovely particularly the man/receptionist/night Porter after the concert who gave us bottles of water as the bar didn’t have any

room service menu in the room but phoned to be told there was no room service on that day, but couldn’t book the restaurant either as they were doing first coke first served, and after the concert there was only 2 bar staff on and the queues were miles long. not ideal when you’re paying £350 for one night!

Location for the football is excellent we didn't have food so can't comment on that but happy hour is a great idea.

I like fresh air in my bedroom but can't open any windows in this hotel. There is air con but this only goes down to 18 which for me is still too warm. As we were there for 2 nights it would have been nice to have had the cups replaced with clean ones and the coffee and tea topped up bins emptied etc but maybe I should have asked

Very friendly service all around. We needed to reduce our stay and they were very helpful assisting with the changes. The room was very modern and soundproof with the football stadium next door. Although we were lucky there was no match on! Parking across the road free, which is great but not sign posted very well. Nice gym with plenty of floor space if you want to exercise without machines. Absolutely loved the toiletries by Crabtree and Evelyn, adding a wonderful luxury feel to the stay!

Unfortunately the TV remote wasn't working properly and the standing lamp in the corner didn't work. Pillows were a little too soft.

We came for The Great North Run, so had to get to and from finish line - Metro was 5 mins walk from the hotel and staff couldn’t have been more helpful with advice etc. The hotel even had a couple of rooms for people involved with the run to shower and change after the event! We ate in the bar side of the restaurant and the food was lovely - and menu was the same as the restaurant too. Everything was good about the hotel - but the staff were outstanding.
