The hotel Iberostar Dominicana was closed. Nobody was there. Like a ghost hotel. Since I had not booked a transfer how would I have known that the hotel is not open? Booking.com even asks me now for a review for a hotel that is not open, yet and the booking stated non-refundable, even though I had chosen “refundable.” You have to make sure that you are pro-active as the customer so that you don’t get too many surprises. I got lucky because I have a friend there and he helped us, however no email or warning or pro-active notice from the merchant to let you know that your hotel is not open. Since it was our honeymoon I called and because I know also some Spanish I got help and and the Dominicans treated us like royals, however not in the hotel that this review is for.

The beach was really lovely with a clean sand and blue water. Room was overall ok and food was also decent especially for the local standards, staff was overall friendly however didn't look particularly motivated.
I think the most important thing to improve is the quality of beds. They are so soft, I had back pain after sleeping on them. Staff wasn't rude but wasn't very motivated and you really need to push to get even the bare minimum.

the beach access
the buffet food had no flavor we were told it was international night and all they had were nachos to indicate it was international night. we went to the burger restaurant and it took 1.5 hours to receive our food. there was no communication about my expectations of an all inclusive. tried to book dinner reservations but there were always booked. the staff was not able to communicate with us effectively. I do not plan on staying at this iberostar location again.
