the room is very nice, we had "suite paradise". The stuff is really trying their best, especially the restaurant guys. I would like to give a personal respect Moustafa and especially Edward. Their nice job gave us a real chance to get deeply into the atmosphere of 1900-1950 years. The way how Edward speaks and works with clients deserved a great reward. I want to say thank you the singer as well, very stylish! you basically live in the museum. you should definitely try it, if you have a chance.

There are issues as well. the reception stuff could be more polite and professional, especially lades (but one lady from the stuff spoke Russian and English, so she helped us with the reception, good job). Food at the restaurant can be done better. I mean it's absolutely eatable, but this place deserved something more perfect and the menu can be more interesting. the tub leaks a bit, and jacuzzi is too loud so we didn't use it much.

We had a lovely stay at this hotel! This might be one of the best hotels I have stayed at! From the beginning everything was perfect we arrived and received a tray with drinks and sweets, the mini macarons were so good! And each one of us even received a rose upon arrival. The staff is so sweet and friendly! Everything is so clean! I could smell the clean bed sheets at night! The breakfast was very nice at the rooftop the view was just breathtaking! And personally I recommend the strawberry juice. I totally recommend checking out the restaurant at the rooftop at night it was such an amazing vibe with good music and we ordered a crêpe and received a show, the chef cooked it at our table. I will definitely come here again and again. The rooms and everything feels so royal like you are staying at another century. We truly loved everything!

Extraordinary stay I have experienced in this hotel .. The hotel is surrounded with public shops and crowded streets which give you the look of egyptian life .. I adored the hotel's location, view and style which give the feel of a grecian old building with high roofs .. Splendid services starting from the check in welcoming time to the check out. Breathtaking restaurant's view and service .. ! Spacious rooms with great controlled AC and bathroom. If I am visiting Alexandria again, definitely this hotel will be my stay location. There will be a room of improvements in every place .. and here are my comments : The light dinner is served from 6 PM to 7 PM .. I wish they extend the time to 8 PM. The Lobby AC was not working well or off, maybe because the renovation work was ongoing at that time. The carpets of the walking and corridors are a little old. I wish to renew them as they have done with rooms carpets.

I liked everything in this hotel … the welcoming was very special … Adnan & Pasant at the reception was smiling & welcoming and Tania was really lovely. she bring us a welcome drink with desserts in an oldish tray. Also she give us directions to our room and told us about everything regarding the breakfast & light dinner. sky view (The resturant) was beautiful they played violin music at night & I ordered crepe suzette and the chief came with tray & cook it in front of me and I recorded all that with my phone camera … It was an exeptional experience.

It was a beautiful historic hotel. The views from the restaurant at breakfast were stunning, and the staff was very attentive. The price is fantastic, and the location is great. It’s walking distance to the Library of Alexandria, even closer to the train and bus stations, and a short Uber to Qaitbay, Pompeii’s Pillar, and all the other major sites.

The noise from the street was loud, but I would expect that to be an issue anywhere in Alexandria because it’s a 24/7 kind of city. Other than that, I really have no complaints. I couldn’t believe the value of this place!

Very beautiful baroque building, impeccably maintained, with tasteful decor as good as the photos suggest. In classic hotels the risk is often that the plumbing and electricity also be baroque, but not the case here. In Egypt the grandiose architecture is often of the faded and grimy sort, but the Metropole looks like it's 1902 and it's just opened. The windows do a very fair job of keeping out traffic noise. Service was to five-star standards. Splendid views and diverse, original and very good breakfast buffet at the rooftop restaurant.

Those baroque chairs were quite hard and low (not so the bed, however - very soft), requiring the working traveller to pile three cushions and pillows to avail of the somewhat limited space available on the desk for a laptop. Electric plugs are also few and a bit inconveniently located.

Enjoyed the vintage, historical feel of this well maintained hotel. It was elegant and luxurious. The minute we arrived we were welcomed at reception to sit down in lobby and were served tea and choice of cookies while waiting for paperwork. The room was lovely, with high sealings and old world charm, well maintained. We stayed in room on side with partial view of ocean/corniche and also busy traffic corner with view of tram station/shops and mosque in distance. Loved watching the orchestration in traffic, how everyone just blended, without accident. Breakfast was great with many options, omelet station was delicious, great chef- who remembered us.

No smoking section at in dining, breakfast areas - away from windows so smoke doesn't blow to other guests Door staff did not open doors for us, wasn't sure if it was because we did not tip enough, when ever we saw them they were talking to security guy, or sitting in lobby. We had light dinner, the crust of pastries were too dry/old. preferred salty, dips with flat bread, raw veggies. The soups were great!

The location is amazing, down town Alex facing the Mediterranean Sea, super fast check in as we arrived very late at night and we were at our rooms within minutes, so that was a big plus. The staff are super nice with everyone smiling and welcoming us. The rooms were clean and neat, towels were always fresh. I recommend the paradise suit, it is spacious and the sea view is priceless. Very fast room service. A very special thanks from myself and my family members to Mr. Ahmed Abdulfatah and his lovely and professional staff for making our stay unforgettable. The dining experience at the sky view restaurant was absolutely fabulous.

The hotel exceeded my expectations. It was our first visit, but definitely won't be the last. The whole staff at the door, front desk, concierge, room service and at the restaurant were very friendly and helpful. Dinner and breakfast were very delicious. I loved the antique elevator and the whole heritage antique vibes of the lobby. The room is cozy and spacious enough with extra high ceiling that surprised me. The view from the front balcony was breathtaking overlooking the mediterranean sea and Saad Zaghloul statue and square. Surprisingly, it was sound proof once the windows were closed. The historic nearby neighborhood and streets were a bliss for an early morning walk and harbor many options for good coffee, food and dessert nearby. Our stay was short, but left a lifetime impression.

All staff members without exception were extremely courteous. A very clean room and we had all what we need. Great vallet service. Although there was no business center available the receptionist was very helpful and printed out the documents I needed and delivered them to my room.

We arrived right after the free light dinner. We notified the hotel we wouldn’t be able to make it and asked for an extension or even light snacks left in our room for when we arrive. But no exception was granted. I have stayed in many hotels and usually in these situations and also give the high rate at which we booked this hotel, staff always find innovative ways to compensate guests. We stayed at the 4th floor. Around 11:30 pm someone on the fifth floor started moving furniture and made some terrible noise. While I managed to sleep I discovered in the morning that my father had a very hard time sleeping that night. Location on Google maps needs adjustment: I had a very hard time finding the main entrance.
