We recently stayed at the Holiday Inn Helsinki, and 5 days have gone pass that quick. It's located right next to the main train station. The location couldn't be more convenient, as it was less than a minute walk to the station. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making our stay even more enjoyable. The food at the hotel was delicious, with a variety of options to choose from. The hotel itself was very clean and had a nice ambience, making it a great place to relax after a long day of sightseeing. I highly recommend the Holiday Inn Helsinki to anyone looking for a comfortable and convenient stay in the city. Thank you to the staff for a wonderful experience!

The room have an excellent space, very confortable beds, big bathroom, nice workspace, fridge, kettle… the shower could be a little stronger, but it was fine. Perfect location, you can go walking to the mostly tourist attractions: just by side the Oodi library, Parliament, Central TrainStation and local bus station, Amos Rex and Kiasma Museums and a beautiful park with a lake… and just a short walk until the senator square, the cathedral, and Market Square. Many supermarkets around. The breakfast has plenty of options, explendid breakfast! And my check out was very early in the morning, so the staff kindly prepared me a packed breakfast, it was nice! And you can relax at the sauna after an all day walking around.

Nothing to complain; the price is a little overpriced, but all Helsinki is overpriced, so… this hotel is a very good choice!

The reception is super helpful and friendly. Fast and efficient, nothing negative to say... all positive and perfect experience.

The housekeeping! Put on the clean the room sign and did not clean our room for 2 days. Had to request new towels so that we can take a bath when we came back. Everything in this hotel is perfect except for the HOUSEKEEPING TEAM. The manager needs to do something about this. It affects the other team / department because of the lousiness of the housekeeping team.

It has an excellent location next to the main station. The room was clean. The breakfast was great with a wide selection to choose from.

Booking.com says the reception is 24 hour, so we chose it because we knew our flight would arrive late. There were staff, but the doors were locked and they seemed to have duties away from the desk. (Luckily we could enter as other guests left.) This is only a minor problem and I’m sure the staff would have answered eventually. Many hotels allow guests to leave their bags at the reception after checking out, but we couldn’t do this. The reason given was that there would not be staff at the desk from noon. For these reasons, Booking.com shouldn’t advertise the 24-hour reception.

As expected, it didn't exceed or fall short of my expectations, I expect Holiday Inns to be good overall. Friendly staff and although some appeared inexperienced they tried their best to help with whatever queries they got. Everything in the room was 4-star standard fitted with everything you will need, toiletries were all Dove, albeit some of the finishes were a little dated but it was a clean and overall a modern hotel. The bed was really comfortable which makes a big difference to me. The reception and seated areas were a good place to sit, windows looking out on the busy area. The location is good next to the train station, so good access to the tram network and metro, modern Kamppi shopping centre to right, esplanade park down to the harbour is close by. Tip - get the HSL app, great for getting around, placing the cross on the map wherever you want to go (to save knowing place names) from current location, you can also buy various tickets on it.

Nothing really. I didn't have breakfast as it sounded expensive although I've no doubt it is probably good. Prices were maybe a little high compared to other hotels when I was there but rather than a single / small double room it was 2 singles and a big room, not really needed for me, maybe there are smaller rooms and they just weren't available. Not a great view, a lightwell / back area but didn't matter.

The hotel is right next to the central train station in Helsinki. So if you take a train from the airport, you walk about 100 metres from the train to the hotel entrance. It is also only about 1 km from the main tourist sights like the Helsinki Cathedral. The breakfast is amazing! It was seriously difficult to choose what to eat and what to skip. The wifi was good, and the rooms were comfortable. And...the hotel had a sauna that was open in the evenings and was free to use. It was clean and cozy and a wonderful experience. There is also a gym, which I didn't use, so I can't comment on that. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

I would have liked to stay longer!

Why I book this hotel in first place, was for its location which was literally next door to the Central Station where I arrived by train from the airport (28-min. Ride). I didn’t take the hotel’s breakfast as I had other plans. Location was superb. Reception allowed me an earlier check-in and later check-out to suit my travel plans, the staff was amazing, helpful and friendly. I was also able to store my large luggage while I was waiting for my room.

If I really have to state some negatives and good feedback. The phone had a huge layer of dust on it, also near the bed on the light fixtures. Could have done with body lotion and perhaps a toothbrush and a toothpaste. Also missed not having a bathrobe to use in the room and slippers.

This was my third time staying at this hotel during my European adventure. I needed to come back to Helsinki sooner then I thought as plans changed and stayed here 6 nights over NYE. my preferred room type for such a long stay wasn’t available (I did book last minute on the day of arrival, my fault!) but I spoke to Florintina who was amazing at organising me a great room and leaving notes for when I checked in about the preferred room. The lovely lady checking me in (I didn’t get her name, sorry) was up to date with my booking when I arrived after midnight and said she was already on the look to how to switch rooms the next day and she’ll update the morning staff. The next day, a new staff member (also didn’t get her name sadly) helped me switch rooms for the rest of my stay. I would like to thanks the three amazing staff, plus everyone else at the hotel who made my stay wonderful! I will forever stay at this hotel and I will always recommend it. By far the BEST hotel I have stayed in in my almost 20 years of travel and this is thanks to the staff who care about their guests and ensuring they have an amazing stay. Thank you to everyone, you made my extended stay in Helsinki the best!

There was nothing to not like, only that I had to leave! I can’t wait to return :)

Everything was great. Excellent location right next to the train station and very close to a tram stop. Friendly and helpful staff, nice clean room with good facilities, comfy and warm bed, TV and wifi were all good. Bathroom had a lovely big mirror and shelf, and a bath too which was unexpected. Good breakfast options and very tasty food at the restaurant, was a little pricey but I suppose that's to be expected. I don't know where they source the glögi at the bar but it was the tastiest in town. The extremely friendly woman with grey hair in charge of the restaurant/bar deserves a raise for putting a smile on our faces each night.

The kettle could've been cleaner, and we didn't find any option to only get room cleaning when we needed it. I've seen it in every other hotel I've stayed at in Finland in recent years, there's usually a door hanger to leave out when you want service. It saves a lot of energy and money.

Fiorentina, the receptionist not only speaks many languages, she is not only beautiful, not only kind and humble, not only smiling and being externally polite, but she did not even mention that I am early for checking in my room. She gave me the room card without hesitation and I could occupy my room four hours before regular check in time! She also gave me all necessary information I needed. I wish all hotel receptionist would be like her! Thanks a lot Fiorentina! You are the best receptionist I ever met!
