Check in was very easy. We were able to check in a bit earlier so that helped us with our bag situation. We also appreciated the assistance with getting our luggage up the stairs and then to our room. We also loved our room with a view over the city, and really enjoyed the rooftop bar in the evening. It was such a beautiful place to relax and take the views of the entire city. We also really liked that even though it was a bit further away from the esplanadi, there were lots of restaurants, and shopping that was a short walk away and open late. We caught a #4 tram just down the road which took us to everything.

I feel that while the food was very nice for breakfast, there were not as many options as we'd experienced at another hotel when we arrived in Helsinki. We felt that it was not as authentic in regard to Finnish food and was more American.

This hotel is just in a great location, right in the middle of town and at the same time on a quiet side street. The rooms were gorgeous and the bathroom perfect. The rooms are quiet because the building is old and the walls are thick. Beds, pillows and blankets... these are the best I have ever experienced in a hotel in my life and I have stayed in hundreds of hotels. I slept like I used to when I was a child. A special thanks from me for that. The breakfast was delicious, the selection was not very wide, but sufficient and intended for everyone. The next time I stay in Helsinki, this will definitely be the hotel I stay at. I won't even look at the others.

Weak points in breakfast - omelette and coffee. It would be very nice to drink a latte or cappuccino in the morning and omelette was more like a factory product. And unfortunately the spa was under renovation. But all this did not spoil our mood at all, because everything else was just super good.

We unfortunately had to leave at 7 so we did not get to enjoy the breakfast but we could take some items with us for our train ride and that was great! We also loved the bed - very comfortable! We did not fully appreciate the see thoroughness of the bathroom but otherwise the room was very nice.

The bathroom could have been a bit more private. Also the closet had hardly any room for anything and as we had two carry on sized bags that we both wanted to have open, it was hard to find space for them other than on the bed or on the desk… not very aesthetic!

I loved the style and decor of this hotel so much. It is very central but not on the main road. The art deco styling is wonderful - not cold but stylish and still very comfortable. Great welcome at reception in midwinter. My room was warm and very relaxing. Breakfast was exceptional for Finland where it can be quite basic.

I had read about the bar in the tower which is actually very tiny as the terraces can’t be used in the winter. I would happily have had cocktail in the lobby bar but it was closed.

Great design and lovely history. Staff are helpful and warm. Very interesting stay. Breakfast food is great. The rooftop bar is nice.

The standard room is quite small in my opinion. Glad I change my room to bigger one. The breakfast on Sunday (Stayed three days only Sunday morning got this problem) is overwhelmed and not enough staff (at least two more for this kind of hotel) I need to grab eventually all the stuff like tea cup and tower for myself….. but food is great.

excellent location and breakfast, comfortable bedding, bathroom is not very big but i love the high water pressure of the shower and the price is also surprisingly affordable compared to other good hotels in European major cities

as many of the other reviews have mentioned the cleaning team is not the most efficient i m okay with it but this is like one level below the other aspects of the hotel

The property is conveniently located but is very quiet and comfortable. Excellent facilities including three bars, gym and sauna. Excellent breakfast. Very helpful staff who give excellent recommendations to improve your visit to Helsinki. The character and style of this hotel is amazing, with some beautiful art work and design around the hotel. I especially loved the old style lift.

The hotel is very beautiful and charming. Our room on the 11th floor had an extraordinary view of the city. The position is perfect to reach all the best places. Breakfast was very rich. Staff was kind and professional.

Wardrobe was really small for 2 people. Television was collocated on the left side of the double bed which was a bit strange (even if we do not watch tv on holiday €

The room was spacious and the staff very friendly. The buffet breakfast was one of the best we have ever had. Location very convenient to the train station. The bars were an added bonus.

One small criticism is the lighting in the room which is all connected to one switch and was difficult to understand if you just wanted one or two lamps on. Perhaps some instructions on how it works would help.

The art deco style is quite well maintained after a big renovation. Room was clean and the breakfast very tasty.

Our room had a really good view from the 11th, although we couldn’t really enjoy it because the windows were all frozen. We asked the receptionist to help us with the problem but help never came. Too bad, because it was the New Year’s Eve with all the fireworks.
