Because we will go to the airport at early morning by the city train, we then booked a hotel close to the central railway station. The location is quite convenient for a city sightseeing. Helsinki Unversity is surrounding the hotel. The hotel has a long history and the metro station is just outside. When we arrived in Helsinki before the conventional check-in time, the staff help us to store in a reception desk room, thus we could conduct our city journey. The breakfast is delicious, as we were hurry to the railway station and we had the breakfast prior to the start time, finished it successfully.

Yes, the hotel is old, BUT it is doesn't affect your stay. Room was clean, good size, the bed was very comfortable, all furnitures good looking and comfortable, all lights working. I asked for the quiet room and I got it. For my toddler they put not only travel cot with nice bed leaning, but even pot. Breakfast was simply amazing. Staff very helpful and friendly. Hotel is in the perfect location for travelling, has metro right there, bus stop and tram stop across the road and train station just around the corner. There is some nice places close to the hotel for lunch and dinner as well. If we go one again to Helsinki, I will definitely choose this hotel.

Its very well situated within short walking distance to central attractions and also train station, if you need to travel around. Also tram station is right in front of the builing to make getting around even more comfortable. Breakfast was nice, with a lot of selections and juice / coffee / tea to take from self-service stations. Room was very clean, TV had some strange language childrens channel as well, but my kid did not care about the language and watched the spongebob cartoons anyways.

The hotel and rooms are a bit outdated (still clean and fresh but the overall feeling is that its not modern, which I think is somethings the finns actually like, so this might be the reason. It has some sort of 90s wibe to it. Other than that everything was OK, its not a 5 star hotel but its a strong 4-. One of the bedside lamps in our room was a bit out of order (it did not fully shut down, so we had slight light going on but it was very weak, so did not bother much.

For the price we paid, I liked everything, even our very small bathroom (and I mean very small) and lift. The lift was big enough for me and my son and our luggage. Sweet. All was tidy and clean. It took us a while to figure out the tablet cum telephone and had a laugh about it. Also how to operate the lift. There is place to charge your phone, a kettle with coffee, tea etc. The TV had a few channels I could understand. The breakfast was very good. I can't remember when last I had rice pudding with cinnamon and sugar! The location is very good. Walking distance to the main station, the metro is across the street as well as the tram- and bus stops. Underground supermarket and coffee shops etc. Also 2 second hand shops! One just next to the entrance to the hotel and another one near the supermarket. The rooms are not 100% soundproof, but they do have quite time, so that helps a lot. You can change the room temp to suit your needs. There is also a luggage storage room you can use as well as a microwave. Something small to eat, coffee, fruit and cool drinks are also on sale. They do have a sauna on specific times. Can't say anything about it, we did not make use of the facility. All and all, it was a super stay.

The bathroom. The shower felt large in comparison with the bathroom. I also wanted to open the windows for some fresh air, but could not figure out whether it is at all possible.

The reception staff were helpful and informative when asked about hotel and tourist information; Proximity to the station and to the main sites was great; the supermarket in the basement was a positive. Very good breakfast.

Upon arrival, having travelled for a long time, including a delay that meant we reached the hotel at 1am, a simple welcome would have been appreciated rather than just 'Are you checking in'? No fridge or kettle in the room. The bathroom was quite tired.

Staff was second to none! Inka at the front desk, in particular, was outstanding with her communication, patience and friendliness. Breakfast was impressive every day we were there. Location could not have been better.

Only small annoyance was the shower situation, as the shower water poured out across the entire bathroom floor when showering, causing it to be wet & slippery. We presumed not enclosing the shower & using a squeegee to mop up water into the drain after showering is a Finnish custom, so we adapted. But it was somewhat of a hazzard for my elderly mother and inconvenient to not be able to have anything on the floor. More shelving in the bathroom to put our toiletries on would be helpful as well.

Clean, good breakfast, friendly personnel, great location near the city center.

Cold room, the internet didn't work. The receptionist explained that this happens often in this hotel to the certain models of the smartphones. Is Samsung Galaxy A something so immensely out of date for the providers? And why didn't I have such troubles in the other hotels in this January? If the managers know about this problem, why they do nothing to correct the situation? It's not a 4* hotel if they don't provide the normal Internet connection.

Our family room was huge, with a mudroom on entry with plenty of storage. The beds, even the sofabed were comfy. Buffet breakfast was amazing with a huge selection to choose from. Room very clean, and heating can be controlled easily. We got it at what I would consider as a great price. Staff at front desk very helpful too

The pillows on the bed were what we would call cushions in Aust,. Rather than two of those for each person, two normal sized pillows would be far easier

Location is great, in walking distance to the train station, with a tram stop just outside (there are direct trams to both marine terminals). The room was large, neat, and wi-fi worked well. The window can be opened for ventilation. There are elevators. Staff was accommodating. It was possible to pay in cash. There's a small selection of souvenirs and necessities for sale at the lobby.

The price was perhaps a bit steep, but fairly high prices are common in Helsinki, especially if booked at the last moment, and especially if booked with cancellation policy. There's a tablet in the room, but which seem to be useless for anything apart from calls.

The room was nice and quiet, breakfast was great and had plenty of options even for a person with various food allergies. Location is excellent and staff was friendly.

Bathroom design. Following "corporate look" caused us having a bathroom where you could shower while sitting on the loo. Had it designed with customers' needs in mind there had been enough space for the toilet bowl...
