Had an absolutely amazing stay. The staff were friendly and welcoming - I had a small request prior to my stay which they fulfilled perfectly :) The hotel is conveniently located, with a bus and tram stop nearby and just a short walk from the metro station (only two quick stops away from the main railway station). There is a shopping centre on the other side of the street, with a maaasive supermarket that sells pretty much everything you might possibly need and more (including non-food items like clothes). The room was very nice, with a lovely view of the bay, and the bed was comfortable. Good shower and lots of space for the toiletries in the bathroom. Amazing breakfast - I was spoilt for choice, and everything was fresh and tasty. The breakfast space was bright and inviting. I absolutely loved my stay and miss it already!

I have always been satisfied with the Holiday Inn hotels around Europe and this Helsinki one was no different. The rooms provide enough space, there is good ventilation, the bed is comfortable and the bathroom is kept clean. Separate Dove products for shampoo, conditioner, and body wash were provided and the shower worked well. The hotel wifi was free, fast, and reliable. The breakfast buffet provided a lot of good options and the quality was decent. Buses and a metro station are 5 minutes away, so it is easy to reach other parts of the city.

The hotel is situated in a business district, so there are not a lot of sights or restaurants in the surrounding area. If this is going to be your first time in Helsinki, I would recommend the other Holiday Inn that is next to central station.

The staff were great and indulged me in me desire to communicate in Finnish even though it is far from perfect. I liked the fact there was a gym that opened early doors and the breakfast was decent. The cafe area near the lobby was useful to work from and the overall vibe of the hotel was relaxed and happy. The General Manager obviously does a solid job in motivating his or her team.

There was one issue which was that their reception/front desk was consistently understaffed. Usually there seemed to be only one person who could actually process check-ins/check-outs/questions with others uselessly hanging around. This meant that we experienced unnecessarily long waiting times both when checking in at the hotel and later when needing to retrieve our luggage and call a taxi. It is an issue they need to fix because it's a basic function of a hotel like this to have enough front desk staff at all times, given the number of rooms in the hotel. Having one staff member at reception is pitiful and the process there seemed unfeasibly slow.

The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, the rooms were spacious and clean, and I had a beautiful view facing west where I could see the sunset and the river. I highly recommend taking a walk down by the riverfront when you cross the bridge because it takes you all the way to an open air museum. It was also nice having a fridge and Nespresso coffee maker in the room, being close to public transit and near a supermarket as well.

It wasn't as centrally located as I thought, however it was only a 10-minute walk to town. The walking directions to the hotel that I was given by the Booking.com website on the day of my arrival were incorrect, and I finally found it when I asked a local for directions.

Great breakfast, good price, good location from metro. Children's playspot in the lobby was great. Make it even bigger such as the playroom in Scandic airport and this would be a winner with small kids. Generally very child friendly vibes. Shame I didn't get to try the sauna or other facilities.

Reception took 10-15min of queueing on check in. The room was smelling heavily of a wet dog upon entry. They probably would've taken care of it, had I mentioned it, but I didn't have time on check in and didn't want the hassle of changing rooms later. It dissipated or was cleaned in couple days tho. Breakfast coffee does not have much caffeine in it or is watered down heavily. Three full cups didn't do much.

The staff were very friendly and helped with any queries I had. The room was clean and comfortable and I really appreciated the free teas, coffees and chocolates provided. The breakfast selection was excellent as well. It was a very relaxing stay.

Staying at the central holiday inn might have been more convenient for sightseeing but the west holiday inn was only 20-30 minutes walk from the city center so this wasn't much of an issue and there's a nice park nearby.

We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The rooms were really nice with our windows facing one of the bays. Breakfasts were tasty and there was a huge variety of food choices. We also enjoyed evenings in the sauna. Localization is also good - close to a 24-hour open supermarket and a short walk to a metro station. And finally, the hotel staff was extremely helpful at the site and after our stay (helping me recover one of the forgotten items). Thank you!!

The only thing that seems to be an issue is the fact one cannot open the window (security measures?), however, the room temperature regulation was enough to take care of that : ) No more bad things to say ; )

A friendly hotel. Very comfortable Excellent breakfast. Good value by Helsinki standards Ate in the restaurant one night, a very good meal.

I stayed here in September last year, really liked it. Easy transport links to centre. Unfortunately, and no fault of the hotel, closure of the metro in the centre meant in took much longer - extra 20 mins or so - to get to, or through the city. Hence I market location lower.

The staff was always very friendly and helpful. The room was really very comfortable and it was easy to settle in.L In addition, the breakfast was particularly well served and allowed us to be able to have various types of meals.

One thing I would like to see improvements on is wi-fi security: it was an open network with no password. Once the name of the network was known, anyone could enter it. Also, the dinner menu was quite expensive.

Good location, if you have to stay in the area. Old "American" style hotel, they have kept it clean and reasonably renovated. Very good parking in the warm garage, 25 eur per night. Free of charge sauna, only females and the other only for men. Small, but ok gym, but running along the sea side or towards city center is better. Good supermarket across the street. Metro not far away.
