We had booked in krungthep wing, as we knew this would be less crowdy and it was.. very nice vibe around pool, plenty of sunchairs, nice staff Breakfast in main wing: plenty of choice, nice little touches from staff which brought us special fresh juices to try Housekeeping staff very friendly and efficient Local neighbourhood with cafes, restaurants, local market and easy access to all the sites by bts or boat

Rooms are worn out, no more up to date, but clean and comfortable beds, nice view from balcony in krungthep wing I did not mind the rooms , as overall experience was excellent

The hotel was a perfect location, right on the river. You can access the boat (link a bus service) along the river to some main attractions (wat pho, grand palace) from the hotel, which was very handy. The icon shopping mall is across the river and there are free shuttles from the hotel. The hotel is grand, spectacular, the staff are so helpful and professional at all times. The room was very nice, bed sooo comfy. Jack's bar next door to the hotel served great food and drinks. Definitely recommend.

We stayed an corner suite for 6 nights. The room had a splendid view of the river and was very quiet, Very comfortable bed a spacious living room. A selection of free drinks in the fridge (refills against charge). Breakfast was in the club lounge - served everything including freshly prepared egg dishes. We dined in the outdoor restaurant by the river a few times - nice staff and very good food. They have two very nice pools, although they do tend to get a little busy at times. The location is still good, although the ferry services on the river have deteriorated a lot since our last visit and the Skytrain is now usually very crowded. Still, a lot better location than somewhere else in this noisy city.

The hotel shuttle boat only goes to the new IconSiam shopping mall and this only four our five times a day. I think they should offer guests a much more frequent service and maybe also to other locations (e.g. I saw the Peninsula boat go back and forth on the river until very late at night...). A word of caution: ask the front porter for a "meter taxi", otherwise you might get overcharged. One day we wanted to look for a taxi ourselves next to the hotel entrance. There was a "manager" who wanted 400 Bath to go to Wat Pho. We declined and got a meter taxi that drove us there for just 90 Bath. Can you spot the differnce? For the airport transfer we booked a taxi in the lobby for 700 Bath, which was very fair for the big car it was. No need for the hotel limousine starting at 2500 Bath.

All these comments refer to the Krungthep wing. A charming hotel with beautiful large rooms, nicely decorated. Very convenient to rail and ferries. Balcony’s are perfect for river gazing and have beautiful scarlet bougainvillea. An elegant breakfast room overlooking the river with excellent food selection. There was an issue with the curtains in my room, the staff were more than happy to move me so that I could get perfect lighting in my room. Amazing massage from Ms Oh.

Some of the room service food was uninspiring in its presentation and not to a standard I would expect from this price point. The blue and white checkered paper is very tacky for anything other than chips. To be fair, most of the food was very tasty.

I love the location of the hotel, beautiful river views, very handy to the BTS and the boats. I want to praise the staff, every person I met and had dealings with was friendly polite and extremely helpful, this includes cleaning staff, front office personnel, restaurant and bar staff.

1. There are not enough boats belonging to the hotel to take one across to IconSiam. I stayed at the Peninsula on my last visit and their boats were almost on call and would take one as far as RiverCity and even Chinatown. The limited trips made by the Shangri -la boats was disappointing. 2. I stayed in the Krungthep wing which does not have any food and beverage options during the day or night one has to walk to the other wing for even a snack. 3. I last stayed at this property in November 2019, I felt that on this visit the rooms were very worn and tired.

excellent location, beautiful architecture, interior of the hotel and room decor were very awesome. the breakfast layout was fantastic, the staff and chef’s were attentive and ready serve. some chef’s out the way to arrange according to requests.

The great location on the river and the proximity to the river from the actual hotel. The fact that we were so far forward at the pool felt like you were always part of the activity on the river.

I was not crazy about the breakfast venue in the Krungkrep wing, it felt like it was a lounge they turned into a dining room for breakfast each day. The selection was not as great as the main wing either. And I HATED the new coffee machine, not everyone wants that horrible machine coffee - these machines are best kept at bad airport lounges..........give us the coffee service back.

The location and the pool offers a tranquility, one can just relax and enjoy the atmosphere. The view of the river at night is simply amazing!

The only thing that disappoint me is the expensive restaurant by the river. We ordered 2-dishes that came totally different to what we saw in the picture from the menu. And it did not taste good as well. Being a chef myself, I had 2-restaurants one in Munich and one in Palma de Mallorca, I expected something special as we are in Thailand, which is famous for great food. It’s just overpriced!

The service was excellent! Upon checking in, one reception staff gave my toddler a stuffed animal, it really made her happy and left her a really good impression of her stay. If the kid is happy, the parents are happy! Breakfast was really good. We stayed there for 3 nights and every morning the breakfast had something different which we could enjoy. So many different cuisine from different parts of the world too. They also have kids breakfast spread for the kids to take, and it was really cute. Swimming pool was small, cozy, but very cold even at 11am - considering it was windy when we visited in December (but my friends said all hotels in the river area have really cold swimming pools). Room interior is outdated but the view to the river was fantastic and the beds and pillows were very comfortable. We also got some complimentary welcome soft drinks and snacks in the fridge for us to enjoy (no refills obviously) but was enough for us on our 4D3N stay.

everything was great, if only they have more power outlets on the bedside like most hotels nowadays. This was the only letdown during our stay. We love sleeping with our phones being charged next to us, but we cannot do that here.
