Building was very historic going back to the 1600s (I think). But the interior was modern except for the spiral staircase. A variety of items were served for breakfast which will keep you satisfied to a later lunch. The front of the house faces a square but we only experienced noise from one restaurant for one night. Church bells were a beautiful way to wake (not too early).

The stairs can be challenging, especially if you some mobility issues. But Ghisla is super helpful and will carry your baggage to your room (no matter the weight).

Wow what a property, and the location is amazing. It’s central but in a quieter part of town. We slept with the windows open and it was so peaceful and we were woken by bird song. The host ghislain is so welcoming and very knowledgeable about local restaurants etc. parking is close by and underground and really safe. The architecture is stunning the room was stunning and Dinan is stunning. What a hotel thank you so so much.

Travelling by car to ththe car park can be quite tricky due to lots of no entry signs in the town centre but we found it eventually.

La Maison Pavie is a beautiful medieval timbered house in the historic part of the city, very atmospheric. Sophie and Ghislane have done a wonderful job though of making it very comfortable and have decorated the interiors combining the modern and the very old in a delightful way with lost of art from IndoChina too. Just next to the church but the bells are not intrusive and only a short walk from bars and cafes . Breakfast was laid out on a long communal table and was delicious, fresh pastries, lots of healthy things too! Wish we had booked to stay for a couple of nights but this was our last stop before heading home to the UK

What a delightful place! I had decided to book for 3 nights here rather than 1 night in St Malo and 2 in Dinan. I'm glad I did!! We were in the room at the very top of the house, in the rafters, accessed by a spiral staircase whose entry is like a cupboard door... Scarily steep with stairs barely wide enough for our feet, but Soo charming. Our host Ghislain was so very accommodating; the breakfast was incredible; the place could not have been cleaner; and on top of all of that, there is a guest lounge available at all times with chairs that you sink into and never want to get out of. The location was great too, with easy access to car parking, and to all significant locations in the town.

Guaranteed parking space in a nearby secure, covered car park. Friendly, welcoming host and very helpful location instructions which were certainly needed. Top class breakfast with home cooking,, plus snacks and drinks available all day including an amazing selection of teas! Quirky historic building with an interesting history.

The bathroom area was only separated from the sleeping area by a head-height wall. Shower, wash basin and toilet we're all fine, although up a 10cm step which was not easy to see as the floors were all grey. The problem was a lack of privacy, unfortunate in an otherwise superb room. Also, the room was accessed via a twisting wooden staircase and there didn't appear to be any fire escape.

It’s was beautifully designed, with the perfect balance of preserved history and modern comforts and aesthetic. The host was incredibly helpful and friendly. The common rooms were an unexpected comfort and the location cannot be beat. We would definitely return.

We stayed in the top room and the stairs were a bit treacherous, but because of the age of the house it cannot be avoided. I would probably request a lower room, but the more interesting rooms are higher up.

Amazing traditional, old house in the heart of Dinan. The host was so helpful and accomodating who spoke English. Our room, Champassack was at the top of the stairs so had rafters, beams plenty of old world charm with modern amenities, lovely shower pressure beautiful comfy bed and pillows. There is a lounge for guests to use to make tea/coffee etc as there are none provided in the rooms. There are so many sights to see right outside the door, the beautiful cathedral is a few steps across the road. I would definitely recommend this place to stay and the town of Dinan to visit, exceptional.

The downside of the age and quirkiness of the place is the narrow stairs, and no onsite parking. Parking is in a public carpark a little way from the accomodation it is limited but free as the host has allocated spaces.

Breakfast was excellent. The room was very comfortable and clean. The common rooms were quiet and relaxing---great spaces to read a book and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee (freely available 24 h/day). The host/manager was very friendly and helpful. The opportunity to spend the night in a 16th century medieval house (with all the modern conveniences) was a truly unique and wonderful experience. A great choice if you visit Dinan.

The location, the ambience, the decor, the quality fittings, fixtures, linen. We just loved everything about La Maison Pavie. It’s so close to everything, yet removed from the busy centre. We didn’t get to meet Sophie, but Ghislain was an amazing, friendly, helpful, informative and always available host. It seemed that nothing was an imposition. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and would stay nowhere else if we return to Dinan.

The house is absolutely amazing, it is very tastefully decorated, comfortable and has lots of interesting artefacts. Ghislain was very welcoming and knowledgeable about the house and the area. He was very helpful updating us with texts prior to our arrival and accommodated our bicycles! Everywhere you look there is attention to detail. The breakfast was gorgeous- we will be back!

Nothing - I would recommend it to anyone- the only thing to be aware of is that the stairs are steep - not a problem for us but they might be if you have mobility issues.
