My stay at Schwarzwaldhotel Sonne in Baden-Baden was truly one of the best experiences I’ve ever had. From the moment I arrived, I could tell this place was special. The location is breathtaking, with my room on the second floor offering a stunning view of the river. Despite the absence of an elevator, this was hardly an issue, as the beauty of the surroundings and the comfort of the room more than made up for it. The staff were absolutely exceptional. They were always available, incredibly professional, and went above and beyond to make my stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. Their friendliness and attention to detail really stood out, and I felt genuinely cared for during my entire stay. Breakfast was a delightful experience every morning, with a wide variety of fresh, delicious options that catered to all tastes. It was such a pleasure to start my day with a wonderful meal while enjoying the peaceful, scenic view. The room itself was impeccably clean and well-organized, with every comfort I could have hoped for. One of my favorite moments was sitting on the balcony, sipping my morning coffee, and watching the river flow by as birds chirped in the background. It was a magical, serene experience that I won’t soon forget. If you’re looking for a quiet, relaxing escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life, this hotel is the perfect place. The location, the views, the service, and the cleanliness were all beyond my expectations. I’ll definitely be returning to this hotel the next time I visit Baden-Baden.

Definitely the best one on our way from Ireland to Lithuania! Nice and friendly stuff (but be prepared that in the evening time there you will not meet them), amazing location - plenty of lovely paths for walking/running just outside the door and the biggest surprise was breakfast. They feed you the same way they want to eat. I can’t remember I had such an amazing breakfast in my life! 5 star hotel! Will try to get back one day for exploration of Baden Baden and it’s surroundings!

The one small thing is WiFi. At the room you simple don’t have WiFi. Byt who cares about WiFi when you have King’s breakfast?:-)

The hotel is located in a beautiful area with the river flowing behind it for a relaxing and peaceful sound. It’s clean, easy to find, and a great value for your money. I was able to communicate with the staff beforehand to coordinate something special to celebrate my husband’s birthday, and they made it so nice for him. They even made a reservation for us for dinner at a popular Tapas bar and it was fantastic! We felt welcome and at home here. The breakfast is incredible and very fresh and plentiful. There are parking spots right in front and driving to the center was only 10 minutes or less. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the Black Forest! Definitely check out the restaurant across the street for lunch and Monte Cristo for dinner, and of course the Caracalla Therme! (You will receive a discount card from the hotel) :)

Only small complaint is that the bed was a little firm for our liking. Everything else was perfect!

Exceptional staff, location, room and breakfast! Parking is free, good wifi, the staff (owners?) Are extremely attentive, explained us where to go and what to do around and took care of all our needs. Great room with a balcony. Really enjoyed the stay!

This is a beautiful hotel is in the Black Forest very close to Baden Baden. Oliver is the host and was very helpful at check-in, and gave us great advice on what to do in Baden Baden as well as the surrounding area. Interesting lobby when you enter the hotel with some beautiful antiques. Our rooms were well appointed and we did enjoy having a balcony for each of our rooms. The breakfast room is very pleasant and immaculate with white tablecloths, real napkins and a huge assortment of food items to choose from including juices made fresh at the restaurant every morning. Hot food from the kitchen was also offered but we were more than happy with the assortment of fresh breads, buns, meats, cheeses, fruits, vegetables, yogurts and granolas to name a few things so did not eat from the kitchen. Oliver greets each guest every morning and it is obvious he enjoys running this hotel and takes pride in doing so. He also recommended 3 restaurants for dinner that are very close to the hotel, we did visit 2 of them and his advice was spot on with the Landgasthof Hirsch being exceptionally good. Parking in front of the hotel was very easy.

There is no elevator which is perfectly normal in most of the hotels we stayed in on our trip but it should be noted if you have difficulties with stairs.

The beds were also very comfortable, allowing us to get a good night's sleep after a long day of exploring the beautiful city of Baden Baden. The highlight of our stay, however, was the breakfast. From freshly baked bread to cold cuts, cheese, omelet and a selection of fruits and pastries, the breakfast was the perfect way to start our day. The hotel's host, Oliver, was exceptional in his professionalism and warm hospitality. He went out of his way to ensure that our stay was comfortable and enjoyable, providing us with valuable recommendations for local attractions and restaurants. After traveling in Germany for over a month this is easily the best place I have stayed. The rooms are incredibly spacious and well furnished, the water pressure is phenomenal, and the rooms/private decks look out at an amazing view of the heart of the Black Forest. It also features the best breakfast I have seen from Berlin to Munich, with thorough offerings of breads, fruits, meats, fish, and more. As well, featuring offerings of freshly cooked eggs and coffee at your request. For dinner, there are 3 restaurants easily within walking distance (one just across the street), and the town of Baden-Baden just down the road has endless offerings of fantastic meals from Michelin Starred cuisine to takeaway pizza. Where this hotel really shines though, is the staff. I was greeted by a welcoming smile and they remembered my name throughout my stay making me feel extremely welcome. I even locked my keys in my car and the front desk helped me get assistance after I had already checked out. While I waited for help I was treated to a cappuccino and the continuous kindness of those who work here. I couldn't have been more appreciative of my stay here and I hope I get a chance to return. If you are coming to visit the Black Forest, Baden-Baden, or simply the country of Germany, I cannot recommend a place to stay more than this.

Great stay here and wonderful location to visit and access Hallstatt. You can walk down less than 5 minutes and use (paid service) boats to cross the lake which offers amazing views and picture opportunities. Since parking was provided, you also don't have to pay parking in Hallstatt. The breakfast was excellent and the owners were super nice and helpful. We very highly recommend.

Parking was slighly tight but it's a very minor complaint as we absolutely loved this place.

We loved the place, the staff was super lovely, breakfast was great (abundant and a lot to choose from) and the accommodation is a bit away from the city centre, so it's even greener and calmer.

The sound isolation could be a bit better. It is a quiet area but it really depends on the guests. As someone who's sensitive to sounds while sleeping, I was fine with ear plugs, but without them, I would have had difficulties with sleeping.

What did I like? I like everything, very clean and comfortable room, and the view from the balcony was pretty nice. The staff was incredible and the breakfast was unexpectedly good.

Location is not the greatest although is close enough to town there is nothing near you, the drive to town is about 20min. I didn't have the time to go but some hiking and waterfall is near by, I guess is a trade in between shopping or nature.
