acama Hotel & Hostel Kreuzberg

Family of 4, spent there 4 nights. Conveniently located hotel, 3 metro stations within a 3 to 3 minute walk, which will take you to the city centre in 2-3 stops. S-Bahn station 10 minutes walk, Edeka and Lild shops 6-8 minutes walk, Tempodrom concert centre - where we also went to a concert - 6-8 minutes walk. The accommodation has youthful Hostel and Hotel parts, very helpful and friendly staff, luggage storage, cosy inner courtyard. Generally clean spaces. Family room size is adequate, with a bunk bed and a double bed. TV, small table and chairs, small but sufficient separate bathroom and toilet. Special mention should be made of the bed mattress, which was great and very comfortable.

A glass per guest at least in the bathroom would have been nice, maybe it wouldn't be extra. What was more annoying was the lack of cleaning. They took the rubbish away the first morning and made 3 out of 4 beds, but for the next 3 days there was no cleaning staff in our room. They did not take the rubbish away, they did not sweep up, they did not do anything. It was not comfortable for the last days.

We traveled as a group of friends We booked three rooms.The stay was comfortable and relaxing. Nobody bothered us. The staff was very friendly. The rooms were clean, there were more beds than we booked in each room. Overall it was a good experience.

I wish the windows opened completely because it was a bit humid in August when we traveled, nevertheless there was a portable fan that I plugged in and it was comfortable with it. I also wish that the bending machines in the lobby took cards as well. But there was ATM machine that could be used to take cash and the reception was more than willing to change bank notes to coins. Hence, not a big issue there either.

Great location - transport stops are near, only 10 minutes walk from Technikmuseum (highly recommended for children of all ages). The room (6 beds) was very spacious and convenient, with a private separate shower and toilet, shelves for the things and clothes, table and chairs, TV with lots of channels. Every bed had its own reading lamp, power outlet and mini shelf. Good breakfast, large selection for every taste. Great value for the price.

The building has an inner yard that looks very cosy and a lot of room windows are facing it. It is a good thing that you don't hear the noise of the street. But people constantly spend their time in this cosy yard, chatting and smoking, so in the evenings you hear their noise instead of the street's.

Reception 24 hours, safe storage for luggage. The property is near a couple of subway stations so it is easy to move around the city and return to the hostel. We went to Berlin at winter time and the heater worked perfectly. Also, we had hot water all the time.

Teenagers were being pretty loud at night time, running through the corridors and shouting in their rooms. It seemed like a big students group. Once the property knows about the guests profile, they should add some supervision from time to time.

Location, value, breakfast, and cleanness. Friendly staff. The hotel is fully consistent with the stated description. Separately, I liked the fact that in the hotel lobby, there were vending machines where you could buy snacks, water, and make coffee, or tea. When you arrive late at night, but you don’t feel like going anywhere, and you don’t have the strength anymore, this is a great opportunity to have a bite to eat and not go to bed hungry.

Good wifi, big rooms, nice location (close to metro), very nice staff giving good indications about the city (there was even information about the impact of the strikes); the good plus is the possibility to buy beers at the reception.

The beds were a bit hard and the window was jointing not perfectly so we were hearing the metro in the night (but with the curtain closed, it was okay)

Reception staff great, room spacious and comfortable and great amenities. Would happily stay again!

One cleaner (tall black male) had a go at one of my friends two minutes after arriving for something he didn't do, and then again at my other friend whose leg was close to the table which he said was going to break the table if he put his foot on it (he didn't put his foot on it as he knows manners), and constantly watched us and made it awkward for us. Reception staff were delightful and helpful, however this was the only thing I could note. Maybe cleaner was having a bad day.

Our stay was better than expected, specially after reading all the bad reviews. The hotel is located near downtown, but in the neighborhood you have a wide variety of bars, restaurants and all kind of stores. Also, two metro stations by walking distance. Our room was quiet and super clean. It had a fan and a small desk. Really good for a few days in the city. The hotel is also a hostel, but we didn’t hear much noise.

The pillows were not very comfortable. The elevator took ages and there’s no kitchen (despite the hotel being a hostel).

i was worried as ive never stayed in a hostel and it was my first city break without parents. acama was amazing! friendly staff, great location, v clean, extremely affordable. the hallways are a bit daunting but other than that i don’t have a single complaint. it’s also in the best location (10 min walk from Kreuzberg Bergmannstarße) 11/10 have recommended it to everyone ! (also felt v safe as an 18 year old girl traveling with friends)

Very close to Ubahn station, but seemed like a safe area, well-lit, within 10 minutes of good cafes. Room was spacious and clean. High quality linens and mattresses on main beds... Met most of our expectations for price/value. Strong WIFI.

The breakfast area was packed, so we left instead of eating there. Childrens' bunk beds were not covered with warm blankets (in comparison to adult beds). Shower was a bit moldy. Noise in hallways, but expected due to "hostel" atmosphere.
