Ibis Hamburg City

The only thing I don't like is that there is no ability to. Are a hot drink in your room. If tou want anything to drink, it always costs money. The beds are comfy, the shower was awesome! Great pressure and temperature, one of the best showers on our 4 month long trip. Great central location

Having to pay for motorbike parking. This is the first time we have been charged full price, the same as a car and we generally don't even use an actual parking space, we make use of space that is not designated for cars. And ar 16 euros, it was one of the most expensive places for parking. The hairdryer in pur room was broken and if you used it for just a few seconds (Rm 129) it smelt like burning electrical wiring and not very safe.

The I is Hamburg City is absolutely fabulously located with walking distance to everything you need to see in the city, as well as the main train station, which makes is greatly connected to everything that is a little bit further away. Regardless of it’s very central location in close distance to a Mail street it is very quiet. it’s cleanness is impeccable and it’s staff more than friendly and helpful. Is there anything more one could wish for?

Breakfast was superb - lots of choice & very fresh. Staff very attentive - particularly the young lady who tending the bar. The room was really quiet and the shower was one of the best hotel showers I've been in. Room and bathroom were spotlessly clean. TV channels were in multiple languages.

Air-con would have been welcome as the mattress protectors on the beds made it quite warm.

The first thing I told the friend I was sharing the room with, once we got to it, was that I was very curious about how the soundproofing would have performed during the night, as I saw our window gave onto a major, very busy road. Well, it turned out to perform more than well, as we simply forgot about the cars outside when we turned off the lights to sleep. The beds are comfortable, the pillows perhaps a tad too soft. The breakfast buffet is diverse and ideal to keep you going for the best part of the day, although the selection could be a bit more diverse. Anyway, the make-your-own-waffle station makes up for that. Other than this, flying colours.

The only drawback - and the reason for this review not getting a full ten - is the drainage of the washbasin in the bathroom: this is not the first hotel where I happen to come across a washbasin where the water level immediately starts rising is the ceramic bowl the moment you open the tap, and then takes ages to drain. This is something the housekeeping staff could - and should - easily spot.

Location was good, 8 minutes walk from Central Station and shopping, restaurants. Friendly staff and helpful. Room was quiet and good.

The hot water and coffee vending machine is right there at the reception, only but not allowed to take ourself. Receptionist or other staff only can operate that. Had to wait for nearly 10 min for a glass of hot water as the receptionist was busy. She took her own time... not her fault though. Requested for an electric kettle, but not available.

Special thanks to Sabrina (I hope that I typed it right) for her hospitality and welcoming. She was really nice, helpful and friendly. The rest of the Team was also great and helpful. I loved the storage cabinets and storing system of the of hotel. Everyone can keep their stuff securely. It is close to the centre of the city max 15 min who loves walking (1 station with Metro). I can highly recommend to everyone..

We loved the buffet breakfast. The staff were friendly and helpful. The location is perfect and close to everything. It was quite a good stay.

The bed was quite uncomfortable and you will not find the other toiletries and amenities you would usually expect such as iron, kettle, and fridge. Otherwise it has everything basic that you will need. The room was also not tidied everyday and I hope the sheets were changed at least every other day but ours was not changed for 5 straight days :(

Comfortable hotel and reasonably priced. A good location close to central station. Very good and helpful staff with a special mention for the new girl Sophie. Nice beers and pizza too

Only a minor point. The road outside is very busy and however the bedroom windows reduced the noise to a very low level. Also there is a laydown / drop off area in front of the hotel so it is set back from the road. It would not put me off the hotel.

Friendly staff and decent English. Exceptionally clean rooms, a big plus for us. Amendments were fine and the room had what we needed, except the English info. Internet were easy and reliable which is also a must abroad. Staff gave us our space in the mornings, which is also really important to us.

The view of the construction site wasn't great, but not your fault. No info on website or in the room in English. We were told there was a restaurant and breakfast options, but at night was told that the restaurant hasn't been open for many months now, so we had to go to bed hungry the first night.

Just a short walk from the train station and well situated to visit Hafen City. Room was of good size and bathroom having exactly what is needed. Wonderful to explore the centre and lots of nice eating opportunities.

At the back of the room was a building site fortunately not active, but not providing a pleasant view. The location around the hotel is a bit unpleasant.
