The location of the hotel was perfect for us - right next to the trams and trains we used every day and 15-20 mins walk to the shops, restaurants and baths that we used during our stay. The bed was very comfortable and the mini bar wasn't too expensive.

Unfortunately, I asked what time the sauna in the hotel could be used but when I went to use it it wasn't even on. So after complaining about that, I asked if it would be on in the morning. I was told it would be but it wasn't. I don't mind if they need or want to close it but please don't tell me it is working fine when it isn't. Three different receptionists weren't aware that the sauna wasn't turned on. Also the room was a bit tight for space. My wife on several occasions stubbed her toes as there wasn't much room at the end of the bed.

The hotel was very clean and the staff were very kind and supportive and they corporate with us when we needed. The breakfast was good. Service in the restaurant were amazing and the staff were very kind. Room size was vert big and have a good lightning and the bathroom was big also. We stayed there for 4 nights. It was the best 4 nights in germany.

The room was very cold and they did not open the heater for us. They told it is still the summer and they did not open it. I could not sleep very well at night because of this. Also they did not have room service at evening and night. We asked for water at 9 pm and they told us to come and take it because there is no staff.

What we liked was the breakfast, amazing! Very fancy lights and great food. We also liked the cappuccino machine as opposed to having normal coffee. It made things seem even more special. The bed was comfortable, and the shower had good water pressure. There was also lotion, nail files, and some other things in case you forgot (Q-tips, etc). The soap in the shower smelled good. We also got their the evening where the Zoo was opened until 10pm (July 1-2). We had dinner nearby-at a restaurant with outdoor seating and then enjoyed the Zoo. We really liked our stay in Karlsruhe. I also liked hearing animal noises from the Zoo and seeing into an exhibit, because I LOVE animals.

What I did not like was there was not any air conditioning or a fan and it was very hot when we got into the stuffy room. I figure that is typical for Germany though, so we didn't complain. We opened up the window for fresh (cooler air) at night in the evening and a wasp came in. My husband killed it. Maybe a screen on the window would be a god idea, or a fan or A/C.

For my purposes, its location across from the station and the zoo was perfect. If I'd had more time, I could have used the adjacent bus services in order to visit the city center. The room was small, as I expected, but not claustrophobic. There was a desk, chair and table in it which I appreciated. The breakfast was a typical ample German breakfast that was excellent, with a full pitcher of coffee served. The hotel bar also serves excellent food and was a cosy quiet place to meet friends.

The spa, where I was looking forward to a sauna, is only open 5 hours in the evening, and I was unable to use it. Also, as a Genius 2 Booking.com customer, I was expecting a free breakfast, but that wouldn't seem to be the fault of the hotel. These were two disappointments but nothing to criticize the hotel for.

This is a great hotel. It’s just across from the zoo and we could see the animals from our room. We also had dinner here which was lovely. It’s just across the road from the train station as well which was perfect because we were travelling by train.

The room was very clean, and we were able to check in at 2am in the morning, which was a life-saver. Check-out is always too early in every hotel, but still generous at 11am. The bed was comfortable.

The pillows were the standard bad ones that you find all over Germany, so no surprises. The shower is inside the bathtub, and it was very slippery to get in or out.

Location was perfect. We arrived by train and literally just crossed the street to get to the hotel. Tram stop just a few meters away. Very easy to walk to center of town. Room was ample and bed was very comfortable, we even had a balcony. Breakfast was very nice too. Good variety.

the hotel was really nice. it was clean and the room was large. there was a bar fridge in the room. the breakfast selection was very good. best hotel during our 2 1/2 week Europe trip!

a lovely hotel, with nice and spacious rooms. we really liked the interior and it was very clean and comfortable. also very quiet, yet central. the parking is just outside.

a coffee maker in the room would have been nice

Excellent location close to the railway station yet still quiet. Big room, very friendly and helpful staff, very nice breakfast.
