Excellent location, clean and comfortable room, friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast was also great.

Good location in the centre of Köln, around 10 minutes from the central station on foot. Spacious and comfortable ensuite room.

There was some confusion at check in where they tried to tell me I didn't have breakfast included - quickly resolved but shouldn't have happened. Luggage room was not staff operated, they just handed you the key to go to a cupboard on another floor, and it had been left open (presumably by another guest) when I returned to pick up my bag. Beware the Köln city tax is quite steep 5%, and whilst it is included in the booking.com information it is not included in the headline price.

Good large room, adequate bathroom. The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was adequate - kinda light on options, but whatever was available was good. There was even a vending machine for beer for a late-night craving.

Sometimes there was smell in the room from the Chinese restaurant downstairs, and there is large-scale construction going next door. Both of which are not the hotel's fault, just something to be prepared for.

- Relatively high price due to events in the city during the weekend when we visited. - Upon arrival our room strongly smelled of cigarettes BUT the staff promptly solved the situation and gave us another room for the first night. We had to return to the original room for the second night but the cleaning staff did a great job getting rid of the smell. - Missing shampoo / shower gel in the shower (empty dispenser).

The location was superb for us, near to both the cathedral and to the Römisch-Germanisches Museum now temporarily at the Belgisches Haus. It was also a great value. We did not get breakfast but that was fine since there are many places for that within walking distance. Staff was friendly, helpful and bilingual (German-English). The bathrooms were very well designed.

Anything that would have been better would probably have made the stay more expensive so I am fine with the way it was. Maybe add a coffee machine somewhere?

No frills hotel. Basic needs all met. Friendly and helpful staff. Great location. 10 mins walk to anywhere important. Next door to Chinese buffet restaurant. Great for solo traveller. I would stay here again.

Currently building work happening outside so can be noisy. To be fair, I should have asked staff to help with heater, because room was either too hot or too cold, with no in between.

close to shops, buses, trams, and trains, the room was larger than i thought it would be, bathroom on the small size but all very clean,and cleaned every day, the staff were all friendly and helpful Enjoyed staying here

Room was good, people friendly and it was very much a compact but neo-classic German hotel. Value for money was good and breakfast was ideal. Very typically German, very suitable. Rooms clean, contained what you needed. Location. Location. Location. Town Centre (AltStadt-Nord) without being that busy and was good for Christmas Markets and shopping

Not the fault of hotel, but six feet across the way (December 2021) was a building site but hey, you have to rebuild things. Unlikely there would have been a bar there, but COVID probably put paid to that anyhow

The room was spacious and very clean. The WiFi worked fine. The breakfast was quite good, it included scrambled eggs, several kinds of cheese and other protein options. As I am on a ketogenic diet, it was important to me. The best thing about the Opera Hotel is its location. Many shopping locations and sightseeing were in close proximity. The main rail station is just a nine min walk away.

The staff could be a bit more friendly and occasionally smile. Everything else was fine.

Hotel was nice with quite big room and bathroom. I've got single room so there was too many space for me. Hotel is in centre, just around the corner were main Cologne streets with shops, bars, restaurants etc. In 10 minutes you can reach the main train station and near it - it's unique Cologne Cathedral. Must see thing in Cologne
