I found the reception /concierge responsive right away with my inquires . Gunnard was especially helpful with many questions : looking for a specific store for my daughters souvenir , calling a cab for pick up, help with my luggage etc . Yes it is an older hotel , the carpet is wearing , but my room was spotless. There was lots of hot water for showers , lots of fresh towels and linens. Windows opened wide to let in fresh air . It was only 10 minute walk to the cathedral and train station. Very central . Excellent breakfast : sausages , scrambled eggs, bacon , toast , croissants , fruit and yogurt ! I would stay here again in a heartbeat . It’s great value.

Elevator was a little sketchy .

The proximity to all the touristic attractions of Cologne. The cleanliness of the room and the comfort that I felt there.

The fact that I got the room on the 5th floor and there was no elevator from 4th to the 5th floor. That the staff were not available to help me carry my bag.

- Cute place, walking distance from the centre - Breakfast was great! To be fair, it looked like any other breakfast with bread, musli, croissants, coffee. But add scrambled eggs, sausages and a big bowl of fruit salad, and that makes it worth it (for me at least) - 24h reception

- No fan or AC. The window was right above my bed so at night it was passable but day time was just a sweaty mess - When I first opened the window, it looked so dusty like it hasn't been opened or cleaned in a while. But when room service came in the next day, they did wipe it when I asked - Bed could've been a double not single

Good location. Within walking distance of the cathedral and the city centre. The area looked safe and tranquil in my opinion. Asked the lady at the reception and she told me that as a solo female traveller, the area was safe enough to walk at night although she advised me to head back at around 10 pm. When walking back to the hotel at night around the Alsdtadt, I felt safe. Homeless people start to set their tents around the stores though and you should be wary regarding pick-pocketers. The Chocolate Museum is also within walking distance.

The walls are were and other guests are too loud. The bedroom was almost sauna-like when I first arrived, so I had to turn off the heating completely. The bed was a tad uncomfortable, the mattress was more than likely old, but it was good enough to sleep for the two nights I stayed. The shower was clogged.

Lovely little hotel close to train station and centre . Bozena at reception was so friendly and helpful . Always greeted me with a smile which means alot . I have always stayed in this hotel when I visit Cologne . Thanks again .

very fresh food with good variety of choice and plenty available - no issues

Would prefer bed to be set higher above floor to make rising easier but it’s not a big issue.Bed was comfortable A little maintenance on damaged paintwork finishes in the bathroom would give a better impression but everything was clean and functioning and perfectly acceptable.

great location, very quite room and super clean, has everything I needed. breakfast was a very nice buffet. I give 10 as rating because I think the total rating it has on Booking.com is strangely low. it is very simple and basic but really I had better stay here than many hotels that have higher rate.

I wanted to stay another night but the price was doubled for some reason.

Buffet breakfast was good. Sahnisa from the front desk was the best, so kind and helpful during my stay. She helped me a lot!

Pillows

Convenient location, friendly helpful staff, nice variety breakfast.

Road closed (not the hotel's fault) - taxi drop offs and pick ups from a distance difficult with luggage. Air con/fan - was a little warm in the room.

Breakfast was super nice. I liked my room, was tiny and comfortable. I was able to enter my room before the official check-in time and I really enjoyed it.

Maybe have an additional pillow would have helped.
