We loved our stay at Erbacher Hof - the room was comfortable with a lovely view to the cathedral. Very close to the Gutenberg Museum (our primary place to visit), the cathedral and the Mainz old town (which is very nice!). Staff was friendly and helpful. We were able to park in the underground car park, which was very convenient. The included breakfast was great and had a very plentiful selection. Would definitely stay again and highly recommend!

Nothing to dislike - our stay here was wonderful.

It was in a great central location, ideal for the cathedral, churches, bars & restaurants and the river. Parking at the hotel was very easy. We would recommend that you go straight into the car park before checking in as you are likely to get a parking ticket if you are on the road outside the hotel. We had dinner at Al Cortile Italian restaurant and it was lovely.

We would have thought a hotel this size would have had a bar. There was an area that looked like a bar but it was not open. I also think, for the price, a larger shower would have been nice. It felt a bit cramped and it leaked badly into the floor so we had to keep a towel there to mop up the water.

Located next to the Dom and the church bells were great to hear. The motel is very clean and the cleaning staff were very attentive to helping if necessary. The breakfast staff were friendly and professional. Check-in was very easy and very very friendly. Only a short 10 minute walk to many sights and the Rhine River.

The room above ours was very loud with wood squeaking floors and stomping feet while walking around at 6AM both mornings. We wanted up for breakfast early, but this was too early. We could not open the window at night. There are two pubs below the hotel with revellers partying into the night and early morning. Pet and parking fees are a bit high (52 Euros for two nights).

The Concierge/receptionist Marina was exception in her help with questions and accommodations. The hotel’s location was perfect being one block from the historic town area and waterfront. This hotel was formerly a convent or retreat and was peaceful and relaxing. Interesting architectural features include the roof and the unusual angular corners in the rooms. The breakfast was delicious and full of a wonderful variety, including breads, meats and smoked fish, cheeses, and much more. Wonderful and friendly staff in a terrific German town!

This was an older yet clean and comfortable hotel. It was sparsely furnished with nice amenities. The location was just off the main walking street and convenient to get to the old town and restaurants. The room was quiet with a private door opening on to the balcony. There was always water available to drink in the lobby which we appreciated. The breakfast was of good quality and wide variety.

The ambience of the breakfast room was crowded and therefore noisy making it difficult to carry on conversation. The price for the simplicity of the hotel was a bit high so I don't know if we would book here again without a discount. It was not a quaint building or nicely decorated, only pretty basic rooms

Nice room with a small balcony. The view of the old town is unforgettable. The beds are comfortable. The room is spacious and clean. The bathroom is tiny but OK - walk-in shower, toilet, and sink. There is no air conditioning, but you can use a fan to lower the temperature in the room. The breakfast is very tasty with good choices of a variety of food. Optionally, it is possible to park the car in the underground car park (for an additional fee). The hotel is ideally located just a stone's throw from the old town center and the cathedral.

The lack of air conditioning. The fan is sometimes not enough to lower the temperature in the room, especially during summer hot days.

The location of hotel was perfect as it was barely five minutes walk to Mainz cathedral as well as seemingly the main high street and the various shops, bars and restaurants that lined it. The rooms were tidy and well provisioned whilst the breakfast on offer was very satisfactory. I also found the hotel staff very responsive to the emailed questions I sent ahead of our stay as well in negotiating an extra night's stay.

Outside of the TV being a bit far away from my bed I can't think of too much. I had a heavy cold during the holiday but had no real complaints about the hotel.

Overall, seems it was a former student's dormitory? room plan was good for life with additional heater, super comfortable to stay than normal modern hotel. A view from the room, felt as if I was in medieval time. The breakfast was fair, good enough.

Signs were not enough, it was 1 sign on the street from the car road, but not from the old city centre and no sign was for a breakfast area.

I used to live in Mainz, so I was very excited to find a place downtown for such a great price! My boys and I were able to walk around and see so many cool sites, eat at great restaurants and relax in our comfy room for the last two days of our Germany trip! I would high,y recommend Erbacher Hof to travelers!

There is no air conditioning, but this is common in many hotels. The weather is usually not very hot, so it isn't a huge inconvenience.
