This is a very cosy hotel, with very kind and helpful staff! We were tired after our overnight flight from Canada (up 25+ hours straight), and were brought coffee on a tray to our room while we settled in. We were assured before coming they would help with luggage, as there's no elevator. One of the staff happily lugged my heavy suitcase up the carpeted stairs to our room. She offered to bring up my husband's backpack, too, but he didn't need the help. We were also given a room on the first floor (2nd floor for N.A. visitors); in fact, a choice of two rooms. We picked the smaller one, because it faced away from the street. The room was very comfortable, with a fan to help keep us cool at night. There were some warm days, so it was appreciated. I think we had to unplug a lamp to plug in the fan, but lugs can easily be at a premium in an old building, so no problem. The front desk was very ready to help us in other ways, too. There were maps and tourist brochures available. I asked what restaurants they recommended. We were given four names (Schwarzer Adler, Keller's, Kürfurst, Alter Simpl), and they were all very good indeed! (Reservations recommended for the Schwarzer Adler.) I can't honestly say the breakfasts were better than other German hotels we've been in over the years, but they were certainly good and filling. Instead of a buffet, which is more what we're used to, breakfast was brought to us. I did enjoy the scrambled eggs, as hot breakfasts are rare overseas! They cheerfully supplied me with extra plain buns and bread, when I told them that unfortunately I couldn't eat any of the several buns with sunflower seeds (annoying allergy). The bathrooms are the norm, with a shower stall, sink and toilet. All perfectly clean, and no problems with poor flow or lack of hot water. The duvets were folded fresh every day, and although I thought I folded mine quite neatly, I think they always did it again. :-)

Very little could have been better. Offhand, I can't think of anything.

The double room we had was a large size with a little balcony for fresh air. Shutters on the window and door to block the street noise. Location was a short walk from the station and the main mall and restaurant areas. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast provided was outstanding. There was a bar available for drinks and a nice outside area to sit.

There was some street traffic noise but with the window closed and shutters down it was minimal. We were on the first floor which worked well, but I would not have liked to have to carry our bags up the stairs to get to the third floor.

A lovely little hotel with a personal touch. The breakfast is very elegantly served and of good quality. Our room was well appointed and spacious. It was just a few minutes from the station and the main shopping and tourist areas..There are restaurants nearby. The staff were happy to look after our luggage until we took our train.

Be prepared for stairs to climb as there are three floors above the entrance level. But the staircase is very beautiful as it curves round.

Very stylish hotel with nice, romatic interior. The lobby, bar and stairway are beautiful and also the rooms shows history while still comfortable. The staf is really friendly and helpfull. Even parking space is available in a garage in the neighborhood

At the time of our stay construction scaffoldings were placed on the outside for renovation work. It's a good reason for us to visit the hotel again to experience the hotel in all its glory.

Staff friendly and helpful, easy communication. Nice looking hotel. Quite good breakfast. Pet friendly!

It's a bit noisy area as it is in the center but the room remains quiet enough. There is a parking but a few minutes walk away from the hotel, for those who are wondering. It's not bad but not ideal. Doesn't matter for a short stay, but for a longer one I'd notice the lack of a fridge.

- very good location close to the main rail station, as we were traveling by trains; close to the city center; - very kind staff, good and very nicely served breakfast; - comfortable beds and a spacious room; - although the hotel is at a main and noisy street, the windows are well insulating the noise.

- there is no lift and the stairs are high; - we could not find a decent place for dinner in the close surroundings.

Great little hotel close to the train station. The staff was very friendly and the breakfast was exceptional. The room had everything you needed in a small space. Very charming Great location

I liked everything about this hotel.

The location is great, being about 300 meters from the main railway station & with multiple tram options just in front. Breakfast was wonderful - the best so far on our journey. It was personally & cheerfully served by our host, which was a very welcome change from the usual buffet style experienced elsewhere.

Centrally located, easy to reach for train travellers (100m from main train station), close to city center. The breakfast is outstanding - please note it is not served as a buffet (as it was described in booking.com at the time we booked) but you can have almost everything you want and it is served in a very appealing way. The room was excellently quiet, the mattresses are very comfortable.

The bathroom in our room was extremely small
