Not quite a hotel - more like a quirky bed and breakfast - so with that comes a certain charm (and some awkwardness, described below). The rooms were the "hotel" part of the equation - modern, clean, comfortable bed. Bathroom was modern, towels were in good condition, shower had plenty of hot water and strong water pressure. The "bed and breakfast" vibes came from everything else. Breakfast was cozy with authentic German fare - ham and cheese plate, hard-boiled egg and a basket of bread on every table - and dishes that look like your grandma's floral china set. There is only one window, so try to get the table next to it. Definitely feels like you are at someone's home - and from what I read in other comments, the lady of the house is Mrs. Keiml herself (doesn't speak English but full of personality that transcends language). I think she lives on the premises because she's always there. She's a character right out of a storybook - I wish I spoke German.

I almost cancelled this reservation when I arrived at the location! After navigating to the street address, you have to go into a dark entranceway that is shared with a sleazy casino. Next to the imposing casino entrance, there is a nondescript door on the side for the hotel. Ring the buzzer. Once buzzed in, I was imagining a reception desk. Wrong! I was now in the stairwell of some random apartment building. Start climbing the stairs and after two flights you will get to another closed door - this one is for the hotel. Another buzz in to get through the door and you have arrived at your destination. Nothing tragic, just not what I would have expected from a hotel. Also, don't drink the coffee at breakfast unless you are German. Big mistake.

The location is perfect. The hotel is very close to the main station and the city center as well. The room was clean, big and quiet and the breakfast was very good. The exceptional thing about this place is the hospitality and the authenticity that you will never experience in big hotels and i think there is the big plus here. Once you are there you feel like home (it is a family managed hotel). The breakfast lady was very friendly and came multipule times to check if I needed anything. They let me leave my luggage there after i checked out so i could go for a walk before taking my train.

I think the overall experience was great but just a few things to mention: I think the breakfast needs a bit more organization. The breakfast lady was doing everything by herself and bringing all the breakfast items to tables. Maybe putting some more items in the buffet would be a better idea. The pillows were very annoying for me and i had to use two pillow layers to sleep. The hotel doesn't have an elevator, so i think it would not be easy for people with big luggage to handle. If you have visual standards i think you will be critical about the entrance and the old reception.

The location of the hotel was perfect, 10 minutes walking distance from the main station and in the heart of the old town. Breakfast was really rich and satisfying and was prepared carefully. Rooms are spacious, comfortable and super clean.

The hotel is actually located on the 2nd and 3rd floor of a relatively old building. Therefore, especially if you arrive in the evening, the entrance of the building and the stairs may seem a bit disappointing. But don't worry once you climb the stairs and get into hotel everything will be quiet satisfying.

Family run. Very central and close to public transport and the main station. A lot of care is given to the breakfast. The breakfast staff were super attentive.

The entrance shared with a smoky game parlour is a bit weird. The staircase doesn’t give a great impression either but nothing major really. Only issue was quality price ratio. I got a tiny single bed for 70€ a night..for a big guy like me not so comfortable

Very nice and cosy small hotel with convenient location. Exceptional hospitality - Frau Keiml and her staff are very friendly and attentive. The room was spacious and very clean, everything you need is there. We had a tasty big breakfast. It was also an aesthetic delight - romantic dining room with the classic crockery set, paintings on the walls. As we were checking out, Frau Keiml gave kids some sweets (chocolates,Haribo, cookies).I sincerely recommend this hotel

The owner of the hotel. I guess she is the owner, she was very nice. I am impressed a person at her age is so active, kind and helpful. I missed a train connection so I called and she kindly waited for me till late in the evening to allow me check in. Even in my departure she was very very kind. It is an old charming hotel, like a family home. It has huge potential if there is investment for architecture improvement. However, it is still charming. The design is a bit old but it is sparkle clean. Shower has good water pressure, hot water even in summer days. The hotel provide lot of toilet paper and towels and toiletries supplies like shampoo, shower gels. My room has a small bed, desk and wardrobe. During my stay was the hottest day in the year and very unusual for the region, in a such unusual hot day I wished there were an AC but for the price, I can understand. Even without AC, I slept very well. I stayed 2 night and I am not a breakfast person but the last day, to do check out I made it for breakfast. What an incredible fest. The breakfast was amazing, with lots of fruits Bananas, peaches, kiwis, etc. coffee, tea, milk, jam, cereal, 2 type of fresh juices a whole plate of different type of hams and cheeses, a perfectly boiled egg and different type of break and croissants. The lady at reception, she is the only one working there but at her age she works from 6:30 am til 1 am in the morning. I have seen her making sure the fruits and other stuffs are ready for next day breakfast. I real life model for the next generation.

Amazing cozy atmosphere! Based in the historical centre - you can get everything you want in 3-5 minutes and no need to use any transport. Delicious breakfast with beautiful tableware and perfect service. Gorgeous host! (Die Inhaberin)

No air conditioning. During the travel we experienced 25-27 degrees in Nuremberg and in hotel in was rather comfortable. But 1 day before it could be more dramatic in 36 degrees. No elevator. Be ready to lift up you luggage to the 3rd floor. Could be a problem for miniature women with huge baggage.

it felt like i was visiting my grandma’s home. the old lady that owns the place is really nice, i arrived before check in and she just gave the room because it was clean already. super basic and cleaned room, everything i needed for a short stay in the city. breakfast is simple (coffee, juice, cereals, ham, cheese, bread, butter, jam, eggs, some fruit)…sushi place below the hotel is a MUST

the pillow and the matress were not the most comfortable really, but its ok for just one or two nights. also consider no elevator is available, so consider 56 steps if you have heavy luggage. also wifi was sometimes unstable

The place is very well located not far from the main train station. The room was pretty big for 1 person and very comfy - having an additional table and couch you could relax on was very nice! There is a fridge in the room (big plus!) and a TV -Even watched some german TV... The breakfast was exceptionally nice and good. Very helpful and nice staff.

For some people, the lack of an elevator may be a problem - it's 2nd and 3rd floor and those floors are high. But still manageable!
