Nice, comfortable hotel right on the banks of the Rhine river. We upgraded to a room with a balcony overlooking the river, well worth it, a pleasure to sit and watch the boats go by, plus the room was a little larger. Breakfast was good, fresh baked bread, usual meats, cheeses, cereals and fruits. Items changed from day to day some, so a little variety. St, Goar is well placed for visiting other towns along the Rhine, with tour boats all docking there and simple train connections up and down the West bank of the Rhine. Also a frequent ferry to the other side of the river.

Great location, breakfast just right as a continental but lots of extra choices. Rooms big and fitted out with quality furnishing . By far the best hotel that we have stayed in on our extensive travels. Great host to boot. View from our window was brilliant , right over the river. Tea and coffee in the room is said to be available but we were able to get it one evening at a request and wifi a little weak in our room but all in all just great

Location very central - hardly 3-4 mins walk to train station on foot (but no noise of trains at all, windows are sound proof) and bang on the rhine promenade. view from river facing room was amazing.. Upon prior request, owner provided warm vegetarian breakfast for us. Really liked that they went the extra mile to make our experience great.

No complaints. We liked everything.

The property was clean and well maintained. The staff were helpful. Breakfast was included. The location was perfect for exploring the area and there was a boat tour located directly across the street. We went for the room with a balcony and it was well worth the extra for the beautiful view and extra space. I would stay again

Lower rating did give us cause for pause but we were happy we booked this hotel. The owner / manager was an extremely pleasant and informative gentleman . Very easy and fast check-in and great secure inside bike storage. Excellent room with great views of the Rhein River and the amazing river traffic . Absolutely great / large new elevator to all floors . Immediately off the bike trail and a short walk to many nice restaurants for dinner . This building/ hotel is definitely old and shows its age but it was very clean and the furnishings were not new but very nice and of good quality . Breakfast was good with many food choices . Will definitely return to this hotel when riding up or down the Rhein

Liked it all

Good breakfast. Our room facing rear so it's really quiet. Staff are friendly and helpful. Centrally located, with car parking spaces nearby, close to train station and ferry.

As it's a small town with most restaurants closed on Sundays, hope they can serve simple meals, not just breakfast. There is no kettle in the room and nowhere I can get hot water.

The location in great. We had a balcony room with an awesome view of the Rhine, Sankt Goarhasen and the ship traffic on the river. Breakfast was very good.

We had to leave our door and windows closed at night because of the traffic. There was a fan in the room so it was no problem. I had to keep in mind that the parking fees started at 9am up the street.

Great room overlooking the Rhine, cleanliness was 11/10. good breakfast selection. Good location.

All good for the price, could do with a lounge/ bar for a relaxing sitdown, especially on a dull rainy day.

based on some of the comments of former travellers my expectations were not too high. We found the hotel fully renovated. We particularly liked the location. The view from the room on the Rhine river is beautiful. It is a pleasure to sip a coffee and enjoy the view. The chair and the small table in front of the window are excellent for that purpose. The staff is very kind, breakfast is good.

There is nothing we did not like. The lobby is still a bit shabby, probably not yet fully renovated. There is no elevator.

A lovely, large and nicely decorated room with a small balcony overlooking the Rhine. Very clean and comfortable. Staff were friendly and despite being so central it was very quiet.

Bathroom was really small and I would have loved a bath, but that's not a big deal. Would benefit greatly by having tea and coffee making facilities in the room, though the gentleman on reception kindly lent us a kettle when asked.
