Guam Reef Hotel

Marites Blackstar, I HAD COMMUNICATION WITH ABOUT A CHALLENGING HICCUP IN MY RESERVATION. Marites Blackstar STEPPED UP, ME AND MY WIFE MET PERSONALLY AND SHE ADDRESSED THE SITUATION AND MADE EVERYTHING RIGHT FOR US! Marites Blackstar AND HER ENTIRE STAFF WERE EXCEPTIONAL AND OUR STAY COULD NOT HAVE BEEN BETTER WITH YOUR FRIENDLY STAFF! ONE OF THE BEST STAYS I'VE HAD IN ALL OF MY 70 YEARS!

AS FAR AS THE HOTEL GOES NOTHING COULD HAVE BEEN BETTER. WE ARRIVED AT THE START OF A TYPHOON AND THE WEATHER WAS CHALLENGING. BUT EVERYONE IN Marites Blackstar'S STAFF MADE OUR STAY INSIDE A PLEASURE.

The view was outstanding. Staff were very friendly. Room was clean and comfortable.

One of the sliding glass doors was off it's track and difficult to open. Staff did not take any responsibility to fix it. I finally got it back on track myself. It was not clear to us that the rooftop restaurant was closed and had been, probably due to covid, for a while. We walked up to it before sign posted on door proclaimed it closed. On last day we had arranged for cab to airport but it was 15-20 minutes late. Clerk was very active trying to get alternative cab to help us. We were not late for flight.

It was centrally located and the staff were very helpful. We had a nice view of the ocean for some sunset viewing. It was near malls, shops, and restaurants so we didn't have any problem with food. There was only one open cafe at the lobby for some quick snacks, coffee, and breakfast. We checked in at around 5 AM because of our flight, and had no trouble whatsoever with the process. But if your flight comes in around 4 or 5 in the morning, better book the night before and inform them of your expected arrival. Regular check in is at 3PM and it's a long wait, so better be prepared.

No private beach front. Access to the beach is easy enough, but it's a "public" section of the bay. You can still walk around of course, but can't use the lounge chairs and cabanas of other hotels. Only one hotel cafe was open at the time of our stay.

Older hotel, but very well maintained inside. Staff is outstanding, and always friendly. The location is great, in that you can walk to the beach, shopping centers and there are plenty of food options available within walking distance. There is also free parking at the hotel. We stayed in a corner room overlooking the ocean. The views and the sunsets were amazing.

The hotel looks a little rough on the outside. This is due to the age of the building and the fact that the environmental conditions in Guam can be very harsh on buildings. Especially when the building is right off the ocean.

Very good value - much cleaner than 2 other hotels offering rooms at similar price. Feeling safe - Quite some military travelling to Guam chose to station there Awesome beach view rooms - at one end of the beach that you can view the entire coastal line at the balcony Facility beyond expectation - water dispenser in each room that you do not have to boil tap water for drinking

The location is good and suitable for playing on the beach and shopping. The Japanese staff responded politely to our troubles.

The plumbing in the bath was clogged and the water didn't flow. Therefore, I used it on my honeymoon, but I wasted my precious time.

Proximity to beach, delicious food from café, pool was nice, and having a large water dispenser in room with hot and cold water was perfect touch

Mildew smell in hallway on 8th floor, hotel room always felt humid despite AC

I loved how soft the beds were. Sand Dune staff were super polite, as well as room service. Having access to the elevator for the lobby from the parking garage was really convenient, especially when it was raining.

The toilet for our room had broke and flooded the bathroom while we were asleep for one night. Even after we had hotel maintenance check it, it was still leaking afterwards. The vent also had a small leak. We just used towels to soak up the water for the rest of our stay. Internet was also a bit slow. We had to use our personal cell data/hotspot.

It's cheap but very old. Very closed with downtown and swimming pool was good. Everyone is very kind.

Bed makes some sounds, and mattress is poor condition. Water in the purifier smells not good.
