Everything was great, the staff, the food, the location and the wifi. There were lots of different options for breakfast that were included in the price. The hotel is located about a 5 minute walk from the main square and it felt like a very safe location. I would definitely stay here again.

There was some misunderstanding about how many rooms I had booked. They said I had 4 rooms booked which I was charged for before my arrival on check-in day. I had in fact had 2 rooms booked. I had previously canceled the original 2 rooms as I found them cheaper on a different day on Booking.com. For some reason it was still showing on the hotels system that I had 4 rooms booked. They realised there had been a mistake and found the cancelation notice and said it would take about a week for me to be refunded.

The grounds are like a fairy tale, bravo to the gardeners and groundskeepers!!! The staff is super kind and helpful without being overbearing. They have pizza and drinks in site which is really nice. The pizza is stone oven and really great. There's also decent wine on the menu. Oh,and breakfast is I cluded and it's an actual, pick from a breakfast menu type breakfast. And it's really good. For those days when you're not doing any big excursion or you're just tired and want to chill, the garden paths are amazing, lots of nooks and crannies (and yes, alcoves) buried in the green foliage and beautiful flowers of the garden to sit, read a book or meditate whatever you like. It's secluded from the rest of the city and you're just in a little secret garden. They'll let you store your luggage there if you arrive before check in or have lots of time to enjoy somewhere after checkout. They have people they work with so if you need a driver, an excursion, or a suggestion, the staff definitely will be able to help you. The rooms are super clean and well decorated.

The beds were pretty firm in my opinion, my side sleeping ways weren't very well supported, I woke up every few hours and needed to change position or turn over. A brighter light option in the rooms wouldnt be a bad option. Due to the general layout of the room and the shade from the (awesome) foilage right outsode the window, I found myself applying mascara with my hand held mirror next to the window. However, I often find myself doing this, evidently a large portion of the world is pretty happy with mood lighting rather than "see what you're doing lighting", lol. Neither of these things would prevent me from bragging about the awesome place I stayed, and I'd gladly bring friends to stay there with me when I return.

Beautiful building and gardens with very helpful staff

Airport transfer was a disaster - the driver was late and didn’t even bother to get out of his car to collect us when he did eventually arrive. Without any instructions about where to meet the driver, we had to phone the hotel many times to find out where to find the car. After a 24 hour flight, this messing around for nearly an hour to locate the car was annoying.

Nice hotel, good location, beautiful and unexpectedly big garden. We used this hotel to be in the area as we needed to wake up early to get to a near location. We are local and know some hotels in Antigua already. This was a very nice stay.

No air conditioning during a strong and unusual heat wave is not what we expected, but under normal circumstances there is really no need for it. There is a ceiling fan that helped a lot. We needed to open the windows and they were stuck by the heat.

Hotel gardens were superb! Small playground for children. Breakfast was enjoyable, different dishes to choose from. Decent serving size. Tea and coffee. Filtered drinking water tanks to fill up your water bottles. Decent size room. Smelled fresh and clean! Fresh bed linen and towels. Hot shower. Comfy beds and pillows. Room safe. Quiet enough. Close to shops... an easy walk, but far enough away to not be disturbed by weekend night life. Very friendly staff who spoke English. Security gates and guard. Would suit quiet people and older people.

No tea and coffee facility in the rooms, but kitchen staff happily filled up my cup with hot water (I had my own tea bags... supermarket close by, about a 10 min walk). No complaints about this hotel. It had a beautiful Colonial Spanish look/feel to it.

The hotel staff were amazing (huge shout outs to Eva and Manuel who went above & beyond)! They made several local phone calls for us, helped us with questions, gave us directions, let us in our rooms when we got locked out (while not looking upset that we had bothered them). The hotel had beautiful gardens, rooms with huge ceilings which gave you the feel of extra space, comfortable bedding, good wi-fi, and TV channels in American (just switch the language on your TV remote).

I thought that since the hotel had advertised bilingual staff, that someone there would always be able to speak English. Not true. No one in the restaurant (which includes your free breakfast) spoke fluent English and the menus were not in English which made communication difficult if you don't speak Spanish. We were so hungry our first night there (because of flights being delayed) but had to leave the restaurant because of communication. The free, included breakfast was not a continental breakfast with items layed out for the taking. You are required to order off their menu (which I believe is gourmet) and is also not in English.

I am a very picky person and I was not expecting much of this hotel because of the price. But I really liked everything! The staff was very friendly, the garden is amazingly beautiful, the breakfast was omg so delish! Absolutely recommend this hotel.

The only thing I didn't like is that the water in the shower was or too hot or too cold. And there are mosquitoes, you need to bring repellent with you.

The breakfasts are wonderful - good choice and excellent food! The staff are very friendly and helpful. The fan in the room was welcomed as an antidote to the warm humid weather. The gardens are lovely and have loads of birds.

More hangers please. And it would be nice if they did what most hotels do these days and offer to NOT change the towels every day - hang them up if they don't need changing. on the floor if they do. Save on water and effort.

Breakfast, the garden, location, beauty

The front desk person kept rejecting my USD currency to pay for the taxi ride even if there was a fold on the corner and that too at 10 in the night when we were tired!!! That was so annoying The rooms don’t have AC and it was kinda hot in April, so had a tough time to sleep one night. If you leave the bathroom vent open, a lot of traffic noise comes in

Fabulous location! Easy to walk (and not get lost!) to main sites. Everything- the Central Park, Arch, etc. was only a handful of blocks away on the same street! Also 20 minutes easy walk to Cerro de la Cruz trail, again easy to navigate. As a solo female traveller I appreciated this immensely, as well as the insight and delicious restaurant (as I didn’t feel as comfortable walking around after dark, not for any reason other than personal preference).
