The hotel location was within reach of the city , There was enough variety at breakfast to suit everyone , the breakfast staff were very friendly and looked after us well . Bedrooms had everything that you needed , shower/bath good with a lot of hot water . WI-FI had no issues

That the Pool area only opened at 5pm and was way way too busy , Hotel had a sign due to increased costs that they had to limit opening hours . Hotel as per staff had over 200 guests for breakfast so they generate alot of revenue , if I knew about limited pool times I might not have booked The hotel as not mentioned when making a booking , or shown in price . If pushed scrambled eyes need to be done more as sometimes very runny and need seasoning.

The hotel was near the center (half an hour walking distance) with the bus station right in front of the hotel. The room was clean and big enough. The room also has water heater and coffee and tea bags. The fitness is very small but the space is very well used with different equipment so you can do a decent training. We liked the pool area - there is pool, jacuzzi and sauna. For breakfast there are various choices so everyone can find something they like.

The pool was very cold so most people stayed just in jacuzzi. In the pool area there isn't enough sunbeds for everyone (because pool is open just few hours per day that time is crowded). The bread at breakfast was very old and dry! It felt like a stone :( that was really disappointing. During crowded hours for breakfast it's hard to find a free table to sit.

Lovely hotel. Nice breakfast every morning and good times, no rush to get down for breakfast. Really easy access into the centre and only a few quid in a Bolt taxi. Spa facilities were lovely and the pool was a great bonus after a long day. Staff were friendly. Hotel was very clean.

It was VERY noisy as our room was looking over the street. Busy area and the beautiful church, while lovely to look at, the sound of bells early in the morning was a little annoying. We stayed here on our honeymoon and I was a little disappointed because I arranged beforehand with the hotel to to buy some prosecco from the bar and have it on ice for when we arrived in our room and this was not done and never mentioned. I do understand that these things happen and sometimes people forget but still, it was a little disappointing.

We booked the Golden Lion for two reasons. One, the hotel looked very nice on the website and two, we were attending a concert at the Puskas Arena which was a short walk from the hotel. The early breakfast start time meant we were able to eat before having to leave for an early train. The hotel is within walking distance of the Budapest Keleti railway station which was also another plus factor. Staff were very friendly and a minor maintenance issue with the shower in our room was rectified very quickly. Our breakfast waitress was very caring and saw I was having mobility issues due to a back problem and enquired if I was ok and did I need any assistance. The same lady wished us a very cheery goodbye the morning we were leaving, however I did not get her name from her badge.

There were no negative issues during our stay and we would recommend the Golden Lion to and future visitors to Budapest.

The location is fine, but you have to remember that the center is not around the corner. It's around 30 minutes on foot, but you can use scooters, for example, which there are many in the city. The hotel served us as a base for our daily Sziget Festival concerts. Good breakfasts, nice variety of meals. Clean rooms.

If someone came by car and plans to park it in the underground hotel garage, I strongly warn you about level -2 in the garage. It looks like some design flaw. The terribly steep and winding driveway to level -2 of the parking lot, you cannot fit into the bend and you also cannot reverse due to the inclination of the driveway, so we have a guaranteed scratched car, and when leaving the parking lot we have a repeat to the other side of the car. Short SUVs and some mini cars should be fine, but not all.

Lots of variety in breakfast. Good location with a bus stop just around the corner. The room and the hotel were very clean and we enjoyed the balcony in our room.

Some staff members were ignoring us, continuing to do their jobs when we were trying to get our coffee. A smile and a “sorry” can go a long way. We didn’t enjoy the spa facilities so much because of the behaviour of other residents.

The hotel was modern,classy looking. The room was also very modern looking a nice bed and balcony with beautiful view. There are bus stops 1 min from the hotel and that is really helpful if you don t travel by car. The hotel had also had welness a good size pool and jaquzi with sauna. The staff was kind,friendly and very helpful. Breakfast was tasty. The last day we asked if we could store our luggage after check out for a few hours and they were really kind and stored it until we came back.

I like everything but what bothered me was the pool becouse it was really cold and jaquzzi was warm not hot like it was supposed to be.

It was a very enjoyable stay. We loved the breakfast which had something for every taste, and the spa facilities which were clean and relaxing. Booking a massage was a great idea as well because the quality was amazing for the price. Every person of the staff was polite.

It was a bit unfortunate that the spa only opens in the late afternoon on weekdays but I understand that it would be too costly to keep it running all day everyday, especially now with the inflation. It wasn't a big problem for me.

Very comfy room nice staff and nice environment Dénis (i think his name was) the bartender was really good at showing the hungarian alcohol.

I didnt like the fact there was this beautiful pool jacuzzi and sauni facility and i couldn't use it due to lack of swimming shorts, i happily would of paid up to 4000 florin for swimming shorts so i could enjoy all the facilities available at the hotel. But this didnt make me think badly of the hotel.

I liked the spa section and the massage I booked was amazing!

The cleanness of my room was not up to my standard. dusty shelves, hair on the floor, especially in the bathroom. even when I asked for cleaning my room, nothing changed, the floor had the same dirt, hair, etc. after I returned. I also was not happy with the breakfast. Sad looking veggies and fruit, no good taste, not a lot of options for vegetarians… Just not what I’m used to at home or in other 4 star hotels.
