Stayed in a private room and it was better than most hotels. Everything very clean, lovely staff, comfy beds and great soundproofing - despite it being raucous out on the street, once the window was shut you couldn't hear a thing! Fantastic communal kitchen area, really well equipped and immaculate, plus free coffee, once you could work out how to use the machine! The location was the best part - in the coolest part of town, with the ruin bars and great places to eat and drink all on the doorstep. Didn't know anything about it before we got there so discovering it all by chance was great fun. Despite it being a hostel, not just for the youth - also good for two 50-somethings and a dog!

I will give 10 points for the location. Pretty close to the hostel you will find nice restaurants, Bars, shops, bakery and supermarket. We were four people and slept in a private room with 4 beds and private bedroom. Even that our window was to the street, we had no problem to sleep, we didn't get any noise from outside. We will come back!

Our friends who slept in the upper level, complained that it was quite hot at night. Even with the AC on in the bedroom the cool air wouldn't get to them upstairs. But at the end we all would book the room again. In our opinion there are more pros than cons.

The place is beautiful and surprising at first sight. I had to wait for an hour at the reception before check-in. The waiting area is spacious, has good music playing in the background, there's a computer if you need to use one. They offer free water and fruits. The bedroom is spacious and the beds are clean and comfortable. Curtains make your bed more private. The location is great. It is close to good restaurants and places of interest for travelers.

There were 2 bathrooms for 8 people. It was enough. But I thought that inside the bathroom area, there could be accessories to hang your clothes and a bigger mirror. Cleaning was done I think 2 or 3 times a day (just under 10 minutes - the bare minimum). Unfortunately, there were some girls sharing the room while I was there, who were very disorganized and left the bathroom a mess whenever they entered it (which, obviously, is not the hostel's fault).

Truly, everything was more than excellent.. We’ve been to Budapest as a couple a few times and have taken to staying in the Jewish Quarter because everything we like is there. This hotel is perfectly situated for us. We’re an older couple so staying in a hotel that is also a hostel, we were a little skeptical at first but we had nothing to worry about…the guests were pleasant and respectful, and the building was quiet at night. The room itself was perfectly clean. My weird highlight is that the hotel always smelt nice and the linen and towels smelt beautifully clean. The price we paid was amazing and I’ve paid far more to stay in far worse. And the complementary wine and chocolates in our room was a beautiful touch. We will definitely be coming back.

Staying in Maverick City Lodge was an amazing experience. I was amazed of how the stuff was whiling to help us! I was shocked with the free bike rental,it was an amazing experience and it saved us a lot of money! The location was in the center,all the hot spots for food and drinks were 3-4 minutes away! The sightseeings were also very close…the 100E bus station Astoria was 2 minutes away, and the Metro line 2 was really close too. The lobby and the rooms were just like the photos! It was clean ,and if u want u can ask for room cleaning (as we did)

The only problem to our staying was that for two days ,we didn’t have hot water due to some pipe problem… Although the stuff was understandable and did what they could to keep us happy.

I had a wonderful stay at this hostel! First, the staff are amazing - super friendly, helpful, and social. Orsi and Ata helped me with many great recommendations of what to see and eat around the city. Thank you both :) The place was clean and bed was very comfortable. I booked the private room and they even left me little chocolates and a small bottle of wine. The breakfast buffet was delicious with a lot of options, good coffee and a juice machine where you can make your own fresh juice with whatever ingredients you want. The location was perfect as well. I will definitely stay here again on my next visit to Budapest! Thank you for everything!

Everything was perfect!

The place is right in the middle of everything I barely used public transport. There is a Parking space, it is however limited. I arrived in the afternoon on Saturday with my car and there was space for my car, so even if it's limited there is chance you will get a spot. Rooms are big enough, every bed has a storage space which you can close with a lock, that either you have with you or you can purchase it by the reception for 5 Euro. Rooms and beds are clean, the cleaning team is constantly taking care of the toilets and showers, hot water is working perfectly. The breakfast is also good, the manager is super nice (i got greeted every time when I got in by him, also had a nice talk with him), the scrambled eggs and sausages were exactly to my taste, and the Juice machine is just perfect. The personal on the reception is super fun, easygoing and super helpful. Ask Orsi for the best food and party recommendations, she is hilarious :D The guys always organise programs to do (free wine tasting, pub crawl, walk tours, ice skating, spa days...) So even if you arrive without plans they will make sure you have the best time during your stay. Good vibes

Honestly one of the best hostels I have been to, if for no other reason than how well the staff get people interacting with each other. The goal at maverick isn't just to make sure you feel safe and have somewhere to sleep, they go above and beyond when it comes to social interactions. As I understand it they have events on for four days of the week, every week. You can participate for free, whether it's playing games, wine tasting or eating fresh pancakes, it won't cost you anything to join in and it's a great way to meet your fellow guests. By the end of my stay I felt like I was part of a group of friends and I met some wonderful people. I didn't stay in too many hostels this time round but I'm really glad I went to maverick as it afforded me the opportunity to meet people and make friends. Can't pass up this place.

Not too much to say here honestly. They have cleaning staff in every day who do a good job but every hostel struggles a little with cleanliness, especially with so many guests. The wash rooms weren't clean 100% all the time but the rooms were. Also not the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in, it was alright but in the dorms the bed design is a little strange. I understand they tried to make room for your belongings but I had plenty of cupboard space, I would have preferred a little more bed room instead.

Hands down the best hostel I have ever stayed at. Right from the time I entered the premises, they focused on making my stay as smooth as possible. I found the facility to be clean and quite functional (easy access to water, towels, and so on). Direct access to the Fat Mama bar, with live music and cocktails, is quite useful on days when you feel lazy The highlight for me was the massive help I received from the staff member Orsi. She pretty much designed my itinerary for every single day of my stay, telling me exactly which attractions to visit, what to do and what not to do, how to avoid tourist traps, where to find local hotspots, and so on. Pretty much everything. I did not have to use a single travel website. Thank you so much, Orsi - I owe you!

Frankly, there's nothing I did not like. Perhaps they could do a little more to get folks to mingle with each other.
