There was good communication from the property with clear instructions about how to check in and a friendly response to my questions. Check in is self service, although there was a very friendly older gent around when I arrived. The room was simple but comfortable and cozy. There is a kitchen upstairs with some microwaves, hobs and handily dishwashers. Across the hall a breakfast room offers bean to cup coffee, plus a wide variety of teas and hot chocolate. That is all free, you can buy breakfast for 5 EUROS, which offered cereals and toast. For day tours and airport transfers, the two main hubs (BSI and Bus Hostel) are both a short walk, whereas most properties require (paid for) feeder shuttles that are expensive and take time. So that aspect is a bonus. You can also park nearby for free, which is rare for Reykjavik properties.

Igdlo is located in a residential area, and is a good ten to fifteen minute walk downtown, which if you cut through via the Hallgrímskirkja church is slightly hilly. Be conscious of this in poor weather or if you are less mobile than average. I stayed in the main building, economy rooms are in a different building, so I can't offer any comment about those.

I was put in the annexe this time and the instructions from the main building were clear and the annexe easily found. My room was bright and warm with very good wifi, good blackout curtains and a handy desk.

The problem in the annexe is that there is only one bathroom for the five rooms. This bathroom has been changed into a wet room so that when I went in to use the toilet after someone had showered the whole floor and the toilet itself was soaking wet. There really ought to be a separate toilet. There also ought to be a way of telling whether the bathroom is being used or not as it is embarrassing to have to turn the handle to find out. There was no bedside light in my room.

It had all the necessities for a comftorable stay. The kitchen was usable, it had pots, pans, cutlery, 2 washers…. I really liked the sharing cabinets, where travelers took and left stuff when they left the property. It really made me feel like we’re trying to minimize waste and spending, which is very welcomed, when in Iceland. The room was clean and tidy, it had an amazing plant. The cold water tasted exceptionally, the hot water was always available. The receptionist(probably the property owner) was exceptional. He was really understanding and helpful and enabled us an early checkin(which was subjected to availability) and even let us leave the luggage there for free cause we had a late flight. He was very opening and a happy person, and he really gave us very nice first impression of the house with his lovely smile!

The water pressure in the showers was not the best, and it drained poorly on the first two days. The toilet also ran out of toilet paper once.

The accomodation has a good location, very close to the two bus terminals for the airport and close to the city center on foot. The place is clear in spite of the number of guests. A lady made the clean-up every day. The staff was friendly and ready to help. You have to take off your shoes at the entrance and there was no dirt on the hallways. The kitchen is well-equiped and clean. You can do your meal or order breakfast as well. There are coffee and tea for quests for free.

The house a little bit old, the windows are time-worn. There was good weather at the time of my trip but in winter time I think they does not close properly. But I saw the other houses in the district, and they were the same. Maybe the residents do not feel cold like continental tourists.

The lay out for all rooms was great. So appreciated the welcoming atmosphere and the amazing conversations up in the kitchen area. This is exactly what I look for to travel for me so Igdlo was perfect and did not break the bank. The office staff was lovely - asking questions and making suggestions - Nautholsvik Beach was glorious!! Magdelena was welcoming and friendly, and helped right away when needed. The public pool 3 blocks away was wonderful for a soak at night. I enjoyed exploring different walking routes to and from Igdlo and always found something interesting along the way.

The loud keypad sound made me worry about disrupting night sleep of others.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this wonderful location in Reykjavik, and I can't say enough good things about it. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted warmly by the amazing staff member, Ingi, who went above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. The value for money at this place is exceptional. Not only did we find the accommodation to be affordable, but the amenities provided were excellent. The kitchen facilities were more than adequate, allowing us to cook our meals comfortably and saving us a significant amount of money in the otherwise expensive city of Reykjavik. The complimentary tea and coffee were a thoughtful touch, adding to the overall convenience and value of our stay. One of the standout features of this place was the welcoming atmosphere created by the staff. Ingi, in particular, made us feel right at home with his friendly demeanor and helpful attitude. He even went out of his way to accommodate our needs, allowing us to keep our luggage at the property until we were ready to pick it up later, which was incredibly convenient for us. Overall, I can't recommend this place highly enough. The combination of great value for money, comfortable amenities, and exceptional staff make it a standout choice for anyone visiting Reykjavik. Without a doubt, I would stay here again on my next visit. Thank you for a fantastic experience!

Great location in a quite area and just a walk distance to city center and transports. Spacious studio with all the basics in the kitchen to cook a quick meal.

Unfortunately studio was not well decorated with dated furniture, uncomfortable bed and presenting mould in the bathroom. Cleaning also not the best with hair in the sink and bits of food on the floor. This studio could have simple but well preserved furniture and curtains, as these could not close totally, was hanging out the rail and hem cut with scissors. Please, give a make over to this bedroom to better value

Excellent location, close to BSI bus terminal and the city centre. Comfortable room and bathroom on the same floor. Staff were friendly. Access to kitchen facilities was ideal and I was very grateful for the free tea and coffee in the dining room. Takk Fyrir! Steffan, Wales

The kitchen facilities were good. Helpful staff. Dishwashers to ensure readily available clean utensils. Free tea & coffee.

Noise. It was hard to sleep beyond the first people waking up due to noise carrying. There's heavy fire doors that slam behind guests, a noisy key lock system and if a middle door was left open, chairs scraping the floor, chatter etc from the dining room. We didn't really have anywhere comfortable to chill. It was the dining room or the bed for relaxing. There's a solo lounge chair but not much for a couple.
