Location was great for walking around city. Breakfast delicious with wide variety. Staff friendly and helpful. Convenient grocery steps away.

The room was quite hot the first night. Asked for a fan and was better second night. The bed was ok. Hard.

A good central location with a few minutes walk to the main centre of the shops, restaurants and bars. The hotel is a stones throw to the bus station and the nearest bus stop for any trip collection. Also a very short walk to the sea front. Very friendly and helpful staff at Skuggi, clean, tidy rooms, although there is no safe. Great choice at breakfast, which was very nice. The waffle maker a definite favourite. Staff again, were always very attentive and caring. We certainly noticed how quiet the hotel was, no disturbances only the sound of room doors. The standard room we had was small, but perfectly adequate for us two, with a hot drink making facility. You could always ask for additional towels, tea, coffee or even an iron. It was no problem and served by the staff with friendly efficiency. There's an option to ask for room cleaning if required, otherwise the room was left alone to your own devices or requests. There's a car park as well, but we didn't require it, so can't judge this. A feeling of calm and a chilled atmosphere resides over the hotel, which was additionally nice. Overall, a very nice stay and would book here again.

Nothing major, but to make any stay better, a few suggestions. A room safe could be added for added security, although there were no issues or concerns. Air conditioning could be added, the room can get a bit warm, but we weren't uncomfortable, we slept very well. The shower was great, but the hot tap wasn't quite warm enough, more lukewarm. I don't know if it was just this room, but we didn't complain. We got by with it, but the heat could have been warmer. No big complaints from us.

This was a last minute booking as the accommodation we'd booked reneged on their promise of free parking. We were not only very pleased with the ability to park in the hotel's underground garage, but by the well-designed room that offered excellent sound-proofing and light exclusion, plenty of light and power options, good storage and a very practical bathroom. We slept well. Breakfast was good, we enjoyed the bar and casual seating in the evening, and staff were friendly and helpful. There are a number of very good restaurants nearby and it's a short walk to the busier areas of the city.

I didn't see any form of aircon. Luckily the evenings were cool enough to allow an open window to cool the room.

It is a nice, small hotel, in the center of Reykjavik. The staff was nice and helpful, the breakfast was good. I really enjoy the ton salad and the excellent butter and bread. The location, just near the main shopping street, represents the most important aspect of this hotel. It has a small parking place, but we didn't use it, because we didn't travel by car.

The coffee at the breakfast was a long, american style coffee. No espresso. The room was small, but we know this from booking. There is no wardrobe in the rooms, only a few shelves. No daily cleaning service, only at request, probably due to Covid period.

In a good position for seeing the sights of Reykjavik and eating out. Bed was comfortable. No little plastic bottles of toiletries and as requested by us we didn't have room cleaned or towels changed whilst there. Breakfast was great, easy, plenty of choice and good service. Bed was comfortable and good that we could change the temperature in the room to suit us. Good to have the locked garage for the car.

A little dark in the lobby and corridors but that is just a small thing.

Nice accommodation in a great location. Under cover parking was a bonus.

Was advertised as breakfast included with breakfast served between 8am to 10am but disappointingly when we arrived before 9am for breakfast all the cooked/hot items trays were empty. When we asked if more cooked items will be coming out we were advised 'no, that is it'. When we communicated our disappointment we were simply told 'when it is gone it is gone'. We were certainly not late to breakfast, it was not busy and several more couples arrived after us. We heard another couple ask about the cooked items only to be told 'that is it but it is free'. Recommend breakfast not be advertised as included and certainly not between 8 - 10 if there is not enough to cover the time or guests.

Great location, 3 minutes by walk to bus stop #9 where many tours pick you up. Staff super friendly and helpful. We could have wasted one of our days not knowing what to do if without of the staff ladies recommendation to hike in the thermal hot water river area (which turned out to be one of our best memories this time in Iceland).

Room is a bit small given the price, but can’t complain as I came from Paris! 😂

My room was spacious and comfortable. I very much enjoyed the breakfast every morning, which was well stocked and very good. I also enjoyed having a bar where our group could relax at the end of our day with a few drinks. ALL of the staff were very friendly. The front desk staff was especially helpful.

My room was a bit warm (I'm used to a very cool room to sleep in), but I can understand why you don't have air conditioning.

The location was brilliant. we rented a car for our stay and the parking facilities were great. The room was clean and had everything we needed. The bed was comfortable and we slept well every night. The shower was really good too. The staff were all very nice and the breakfast was great, had a wide variety to chose from.

The only thing would be the coffee! Filter coffee for ease at breakfast with a lot of people needing to eat quickly but didn’t taste great and the coffee in the room was a sachet so we had to go out for coffee.

Very comfortable bed, clean and warm room..Excellent choice at breakfast and good service. All staff were friendly from the staff cleaning rooms, to receptionists, bar staff and people serving breakfast. There was ice cold water available on the bar at all times. No little plastic bottles of shower gel etc which in this day and age is great but still had soap and shower gel which were refillable.

It was a little dark in the Reception area.
