Our room was basic, but was fine. The little balcony was a bonus. We were close to Monkey Forest on the street behind Monkey Forest Road. It was close to shopping and restaurants. Breakfast was good -- a choice of Indonesian or American breakfast was available. The staff was very nice and accommodating.

Anyone booking Nick's needs to be aware that there is a walk of a city block from the road to the facility. In addition, there are multiple flights of stairs to negotiate. We did not walk down to the pool which was several flights down into the valley.

Beautiful setting, peaceful location yet only a short walk from the bustle of Ubuds main street. Breakfast was great and cold water always available. Lovely to be able to come back for a dip in the pool after a long day out. Staff were really friendly and helpful.

I was lucky enough to me given a renovated room and it was outstanding. Fabulous modern decor including a kitchenette style bench with a kettle and minibar. The bathroom was stunning, the nicest I’ve seen in Bali. There were fresh frangipanis dotted all over the room and inside the cupboards. The staff are welcoming and helpful. Rooms were cleaned everyday and a night time turn down service was also provided. Staff organised laundry to be done for me. 9 items for $5. They also organised my return taxi to the airport. On the morning of departure I was too early for breakfast so they bought me some fruit to eat while I waited for my driver. The grounds are just beautiful, lovely architecture, statues and plants. It is peaceful and serene here. You can hear the water in the ravine below. There are lots of stairs on this property so if you have mobility issues this may be not be suitable. The lovely pool is down at the bottom of the property. I had it to myself most of the time. There are about 8 sun lounges and 2 umbrellas. Could probably do with a few more umbrellas. The water was lovely and cool however the tiles around the edge on a sunny day were like lava. There are no stairs only a ladder which puts you in the deep end. I found the pool very hard to get in and out of to be honest. Younger and more limber guests may not have this issue. The location is great on JL Bisma, a much quieter street than Monkey Forest Rd. Numerous restaurants, spas, convenience stores along this street. Short walk around to Monkey Forest Rd and others. I highly recommend this boutique hotel and will absolutely be booking here again. An absolute gem of a find.

Just 2 things to mention that did not bother me but good for others to know. There are a lot of stairs at this property so guests with mobility issues may struggle. The pool paving gets very hot in direct sunlight so may not be suitable for small children or babies to be playing on.

I loved how the jungle was built into property. The multiple areas allowed some separation of guests and it also felt very private, too. Loved the pool, breakfast being included, the beauty of the property and how nice the staff was! Really enjoyed the welcome towel, too. FANTASTIC wifi. It's such a hidden gem right in the middle of everything making it super walkable, plus the staff was so helpful.

The bedrooms were a little dark and while there were two seats on the balcony, they weren't super comfortable but honestly I loved having a balcony! We got two single beds but they were put together as one giant bed so we needed to separate them when we got there so each person had their own space (so the mosquito net only worked for one person, not that we needed it!), and while it was definitely cool, sometimes the a/c couldn't keep up - so it would've been nice to have the room cool when we arrived. Still! It was a fantastic place and definitely would book again, especially for a short stay!

- room bigger and more luxurious than expected - splendid bathroom - near the center of Ubud but still in a quiet street - staff helped us carry our stuff down the stairs (traveling with a toddler means more luggage) - checked out early and we got breakfast boxes

- room wasn’t ready on time - breakfast took some time to get served and the white cheap bread is awful - lots of stairs, which isn’t always easy when traveling with a toddler and lots of stuff (but we managed! and would stay here again when the kids are older and can carry their own stuff)

LOVED our room above the reception, we had a separate living / seating area, giant 4 poster bed with drapes and the bathroom was huge - could do with a little freshen up but was perfect for our needs. I stayed with my best friend for 8 days and we absolutely loved the pool, filtered water to fill up our bottles located in reception and by the pool and the breakfast was incredible. Bodhi the manager is so funny, lovely and friendly. The ginger tea on arrival is so lovely, I've even encouraged them to put it on the menu as it is so tasty and refreshing! I 100% can't wait to stay again! The cottages are truly hidden and we saw monkeys swinging from the trees, loved the ducks on the pathway and the nature that was surrounding. Absolute gem hidden in central Ubud with local shops, restaurants, tattoo, gift shops, ice-cream - fantastic location! Hard to give a negative but would like a vegan option on the menu that includes vegan scrambled tofu or Nasi Goreng or Nasi Mie made without egg. Especially for breakfast, as fruit can get a bit repetitive.

The location was fantastic, just off the main road so don't hear any traffic or street noise but a short 2 minute walk to the restaurants, bars, market and temples and about 10 minutes to Monkey Forest. All the staff were polite and friendly and would do their upmost to help. The pool was lush, there are water fountains dotted around for you to fill up your bottles and the bed was super comfy! The room was huge and had a very rustique feel to it. I wish I had stayed here longer, well worth the money!

There was no plug socket near the bed, that is the only thing I could fault 😂

It’s such a beautiful hotel, the buildings, the pool, the plants, everything. We did not expect it would be this amazing from pictures online, it really just represents my best imagination about Bali. Our room is next to the pool, very spacious, all facilities are clean and new, I like the half open bathroom with a big tub. As we arrive we got why it’s called hidden cottages, it a little bit off the main street but still in walking distance, and reception is in the ground floor, canteen and rooms and pool are in different layers down stairs, first enter felt surprisingly good. Staffs are all friendly and helpful.

Not dislike but only improvement suggestion, there’s no signal at the bathroom in our room, no WiFi or phone signal. And if breakfast can provide more options would be better.

Tucked away from the busy roads of ubud, a little oasis. The room was very spacious and bed was so comfy. The architecture is classic Balinese, so the whole hotel is beautiful! The staff were all so friendly and helpful, you even get a turn down service in the evening which is a lovely little touch.

Minor things, the bathroom, also huge, had an ant problem by the sink area. The shower head was fixed to the wrong wall and so water would come out of the bathtub onto the floor I’m sure this can be fixed and then our stay would be 10/10.

We had a beautiful large room, beds were the best on our trip, very clean, view from balcony was amazing. Hotel is set in gorgeous gardens and lovely architecture. Pool and it's surrounding were lovely. Nice peaceful location, plenty of nice restaurants on the same street, located away from the hustle and bustle of Ubud. We particularly liked the chilled walk down the path to the hotel from the street particularly at night, full of nature sounds, birds, frogs and crickets perfect wind down.
