We always keep returning to Aura Retreat and we book as long stays, as long as the place isn't already booked up. The place is an oasis in central Ubud, right next to the Yoga Barn. Rooms are full of character and well maintained. There are fish ponds and there is nature everywhere. Everything is well cleaned. And the staff is wonderful - always smiling, always kind, and always helpful. It seems that the services have recently been upgraded as well. We'll keep coming back.

Some more power outlets (also for US plugs or USBs) in the room would make quite a difference. Also, at least one mirror in the room would make it great for two people. Currently mirrors are only in the bathrooms. These are just some opportunities... but we'd still keep returning to Aura.

The staff are absolutely lovely and make you feel at home, the breakfast is a delight I love that they will make you breakfast as well as the buffet! The location is brill a short walk to the supermarket and you have several food places nearby as well as the Monkey Forest and The Yoga Barn. The price for what you get is amazing would definetly stay again.

This is no fault of the accomodation but the breakfast table is one long table which means you all sit at the same table. Unfortunately the last two days of my stay some visitors decided that they would shout on their mobile really loudly making breakfast a less calm experience.

The ROOMS were very spacious, and it was a bonus to have the outdoor day beds, table, etc. It was very relaxing to sit outside with our family members. BREAKFAST was delicious, and plenty of choice, with large servings. The only down side was the breakfast seats/stools were not very comfortable. It was a great idea to have the water fountain to be able to refill our water bottles any time of the day/night. LOCATION was absolutely fantastic. Perfect. It was lovely being by the Yoga Barn, a very serene place to walk through. I felt very safe walking around our area. Lots of fabulous cafes withing a short walk - money changers, supermarket, monkey forest, ATMs, anything you want!

The breakfast stools were not very comfortable

Room was large, airy, clean and comfortable. Bath was great, and there was good hot water to actually fill it (Not true everywhere.) Air conditioning worked well and was not too loud. Room didn't have mould and was cleaned daily. Included breakfast was a bit repetitive but very good qualty (Can choose between banana pancakes or eggs done a few different ways with self-serve juice and/or coffee/tea and a few self serve items, like toast, and fresh fruit. The location was very central right off the main strip and close to the monkey forest.

A few more options for breakfast (Even having pineapple pancakes instead of just banana, or nasi goreng or similar) would be nice. But it's really a fantastic place even still.

Loved the location and the room, absolutely beautiful. The airconditioning was AMAZING and an absolute life saver. The staff was friendly and helpful, they even organized a scooter for us.

The only thing I can potentially comment on was the food and how everyone sat at 1 table which other parties complained about which did make it uncomfortable. The food wasn't bad AT ALL, there could've just been more options.

The staff were incredibly helpful. Laksmi helped us arrange everything we needed and even had a scooter delivered and collected for us. The room was lovely and so quiet which was surprising given it was in the center of Ubud. We could walk to everything we wanted to and rented a scooter to visit the outskirts of Ubud. The bed was comfy , room spotless and the pool area perfect for relaxing. A real gem. Would happily stay here again!

The staff were so accomodating. Our room was spacious and so comfortable. The included breakfast was excellent and served in a setting which was conducive to conversations with other guests. The location is central but quiet.

Our first room was on the third floor with many uneven steps and no handrail leading to it. However, after communication with the staff, we were quickly moved to a room on the first floor with easy to manage stairs.

I totally loved my stay at the hotel. Its location I’d close to everything a tourist needs: supermarket, restaurants, boutiques, and even the Monkey Forest! The hotel itself is beautiful and clean. Did I mention the breakfast is a delicious work of art?! The staff was amazingly friendly and helpful! I’d stay again!

We had minor issues with critters like house lizards and ants. Also it’s kind of tucked in a narrow alley. So cars have a hard time driving in to pick up guests.

It was a perfectly located spot for our Ubud trip. The staff here are so friendly and professional. There is always someone on the front desk to assist with any questions, and they also coordinated our moped rental. The room was great - air con, comfortable bed. Good bathroom. There is a pool area, the breakfast looks over it. We used their laundry service and it was so helpful to have this during our stay.

The breakfast is nice (can order egg options) and looks over the pool area. However, wish they had cereals, milk for coffee/tea. It starts at 8am which is a little late for us, we only had breakfast once there.

A lovely haven in central Ubud! Staff were super lovely and accommodating, they helped me with laundry service, taxis etc. It was a very charming and comfy room with lots of well thought out details - a power adapter, slippers, robe, nice colourful traditional textiles on the bed, a nice balcony with comfy loungers overlooking the pool. Very close to the main hustle and bustle of Ubud but located down a side pathway off the main road so quiet and isolated.

The room could have done with some more power points, I could only find one in the bathroom. Breakfast was served at 8am, staff were still kindly able to provide it earlier at request but I think it could be a bit earlier regardless since a lot of my activities had early pick ups. It was also a bit noisy on Friday night - I think from the yoga barn dance party.
