They were really pet friendly - they loved my dog from the first sight, showed us the back garden they had, so she could do her business there and they did not mind her staying in our room;-). Although the room was upstairs, it had what we needed and thankfully it was a quiet room away from the bar, so we could get a good night sleep. And in the morning we discovered, that breakfast was included even though I thought it was just room rate, so that was another thing there , that made me smile. I really recommend this place, especially when you are travelling with your pet! Great value and really friendly staff there!

We liked Skellys as it suited us as we were walking the Famine way! Our room was big and comfortable! Food was great and the pints went down well after a day of walking! As it is a pub there was a bit of noise at night but we had expected that! And still had a great sleep! Staff were friendly and welcoming! And we would stay again! Also great value for money ! Thank you for a lovely stay!

The hosting of the staff, especially Pat, Séamus and Dylan was second to none. Instantly felt welcomed and they took the time to come and spend time with us to make sure we were enjoying the night. A great selection of beers and the Guinness was gorgeous. The room was spacious and comfortable and the shower was AMAZING. Also, pet friendly, which was just what we needed. A great stay! Buffet early breakfast suited me as I was leaving early.I had been informed the night before that a cooked breakfast would be available after 9.30 am. From the time that I checked in every effort was made to ensure that all was ok with the room and that my stay was enjoyable.

Great spot , great location in the center of Ballymahon , friendly and busy , good mixed crowd , nice peat fire burning away , delicous food , owner Seamus really helpfull and friendly

We met Seamus and he was really welcoming. We were made to feel at home. We were welcomed with our dog and it was the only place in the area that took dogs. Really liked Ballymahon , a charming traditional Irish town with great examples of vernacular architecture. Home of Oliver Goldsmith.

Pat was amazing and the bartenders were top notch. Stayed on Saint Patrick's Day and had a blast. Room was clean and the bed was soft enough to sleep for ten hours. Breakfast was traditional and delicious. Would recommend to anyone that wants Ireland's hospitality.

Stayed here on numerous occasions, is it a 4 or 5 star hotel, no, but a nice relaxing place with a nice bar good food,a lovely breakfast in the morning

Great welcome, great food and staff were brilliant.

It was a little noisy but after all it was a pub on a saturday night. Went quiet at a reasonable time though.
