Excellent dining facilities for dinner/lunch in downstairs pub and breakfast in separate ornate dining room. Good variety of food choices on menu for dinner/lunch with large helpings, and Irish breakfast were the best in our two week trip to Ireland/Scotland. Very friendly staff. Great location in downtown Tralee.

Parking included, but at outdoor parking lots within close walking of hotel. Worried about security given late night drinking at nearby pubs. We had excellent "executive" rooms in a special "executive" wing on first floor, which were modern but not sure why they were called "executive". Hope other hotel rooms at hotel had same modern conveniences.

From the comfortable surroundings of the executive suite we had an amazing time, roomy bathroom and a giant kings size bed. The hotel staff are so kind and thoughtful and nothing was too much trouble for them. The owner Mr Dick Boyle can be found among his guests ensuring they are having a pleasant stay and I've seen him helping out and carrying guests luggage if they need a hand. The food in the restaurant and the bar area is of an excellent quality and cooked to perfection. There is also a lunch restaurant that serves the most amazing food, their homemade brown bread is superb and I was lucky enough to be able to purchase a loaf of it to take home.

I didn't like the fact that I only booked two nights, I had such a great time that I would have loved to stay for the week.

I was staying in Tralee for work for 2 days so just needed one night's accommodation. The Grand came in at the best price for a single room. Before I arrived I had messaged them to request a quiet room so I could get a good night's sleep before work the next day. They replied very quickly to confirm they could accommodate me. When I arrived they were true to their word. Now, the room was up 2 flights of stairs and endless corridors but they did offer to help with bags (not needed) and it was certainly very quiet, and I had a lovely big double room with a walk in shower - all looked newly refurbished - very happy as I thought I was getting a small single! The bed and pillows were incredibly comfortable, I slept like a log. Great big flat screen tv with loads of channels. Very good wifi in room, although it was so far from reception, in the bar and in the breakfast room. The breakfast the following morning was very good, a step up from the standard 'full irish' and really set me up for a very long day ahead. Location also good - slap bang in the middle of town (Penneys across the road...) near all the pubs shops and restaurants if you're here for a leisure break. I would definitely come back again if they can maintain their competitive room rate and looking at a weekend stay here as a couple now.

Really minor - no staff at reception in the morning when I was checking out around 8.20am. I just left my card on the desk in the end but it would have been nice to have an interaction to check how everything had been etc.

The room was presented beautifully even down to the TV with your name on it to welcome you, the bed was absolutely huge and so comfortable. Couldn't hear anything from our room it was so peaceful. Everything was immaculately clean. The staff were so friendly and helpful in any assistance needed, even when we checked out they held onto our bags so we couldstill wander freely as our train wasn't until the afternoon. And the barman Brian was fantastic really friendly didn't have to move for a drink even when the bar busy was served promptly. The hotel is right in the centre of everything only out the door and a short walk from some amazing pubs cafes views and attractions. We would definitely go back again.

View wasn't great from the room was the roof and side of the next building but we didn't mind as we were in such a quiet spot we were able to relax and sleep peacefully were didn't spend long in the room during the day so the view really wasn't an issue for us

Such a friendly atmosphere from the moment we arrived. The owners made our stay an amazing experience. Went out of their way in so many ways. The bedrooms were exceptional. Really good value for money. As we were a big group they catered for us and made us so welcome. Hands down I will never forget my stay here. The location is right in the middle of the town. The staff gave us loads of information into what to do during our stay there. I will definitely stay there again.

Superb central location, 100m from the Mall. Comfy room - mine was classed as single but was a small double - and good en-suite facilities. I really liked the period feel of this hotel - maybe 1850’s (?) - and there was a small log fire in the tastefully furnished reception which was welcoming. Best of all though was the Seafood Linguine in the Hotel’s popular Pikeman Bar! Historic room, football on TV (but picture-only so not at all obtrusive to other guests) great service, great food and Guinness. No wonder it’s popular. I also really appreciated the Receptionist letting me know by text when the room was ready. Thank you.

Breakfast was delicious! Room was very comfortable, clean and spacious, had everything I needed. I was attending a wedding locally and had appointments in the town that morning , didn't get back to the hotel until 12.30 and needed to get changed and pack etc and the staff had no problem letting me check out late (check out should have been at 12) , I had said it to the receptionist after breakfast and she just made a note of it and said it was no problem. Was very much appreciated. Would definitely stay here again if going back to Tralee, location was ideal too, right in the centre of town on walking distance to bars / restaurants and shops.

Only negatives I would say was that there was no lift. Made no difference to me personally so I'm knit picking to say that, just might be a hindrance for elderly guests but the staff were very helpful and did offer to help me with my bag so they are accomodating if someone did need a helping hand. Parking too is a bit of disaster, the hotel doesn't have a dedicated car park but there is limited street parking and pay and display carparks within walking distance :)

On our arrival in Tralee we were greeted with a massive rainstorm which essentially confined us to the hotel. Fortunately, the hotel's spacious rooms, the ambiance of the pub, and the excellent fare in the restaurant (order the seafood platter!) made our confinement an enjoyable experience.

The layout of the hotel is somewhat a maze of multiple buildings connected by winding hallways and a series of stair cases. While this can come off as quaint, it can be confusing to navigate.

the location is amazing 2 seconds from penneys and the square walking distance to shops, cafes, pubs and restaurant. dinner and dessert was amazing. receptionist very helpful. music (guy sang and played guitar was great good) great atmosphere in the bar

too many stairs, no lift - stair coming out everywhere if staying again would request 1st floor (no ground floor rooms) and closer together rooms to family. my bathroom was small no shelf to hold anything tooth brush or even do my makeup. sink bearly hold the tiny soap. at night was dark curtains let lit in and the smoke alarm glowed bright green all night was hard to get to sleep

My husband and I were delighted with our stay. Breakfast was excellent especially the pastries, always cooked to perfection. The dining room tables were properly spaced out so no need to worry being in the same room with others. The dining room service was excellent as well. The family room was a value for our money, very spacious especially the toilet and bath and the room itself fitted us 3- since we travelled with our baby so we had more stuff that we brought with us. The location is great as it is literally in the town center. The best part of all, the staff at the reception were very kind and accommodating from check-in to check-out.

The only down part is the absence of an elevator. We stayed on the 2nd floor so we had to climb up several stairs together with our luggages.
