The whole stay was brilliant from start to finish. The reception staff were very welcoming and helpful - upgrading my room - and checked me in quickly. The room was well-proportioned and comfortable. Dinner in the bar was exceptional. The food was fresh and tasted great. The waiting staff were brilliant - they couldn't have been more helpful and were unbelievably pleasant. They really are a credit to the hotel. I was greeted at breakfast by the same waitress that served me at dinner and she was great. The breakfast was cooked perfectly and was a great way to round off my stay. I'll definitely stay again when I'm next in Listowel.

A plug socket by the bed would be a possible improvement.

This hotel has an old-fashioned charm. If you want keycards and laminate flooring, this isn't for you. The facilities are up to date, with nice modern bathrooms and good WiFi, but the overall feel and decor is more 20th century than 21st, in the best possible way, with a real touch of class. I like modern boutique hotels, but I forgotten how nice it is to be somewhere where you're a guest rather than a customer. I felt so at home, I was very sorry to leave. The room was clean and comfortable and my breakfast was first rate, with very generous servings. I also enjoyed my evening meal in the restaurant. Staying here was a treat and I'd love to go back.

The main room light was a bit fluorescent.

I lived in this town as a child, been back many times since and as far as I remember I've never been inside this hotel let alone stayed in it! I loved it. It was like stepping back in time but with modern-day comforts! The staff were welcoming, friendly, helpful, cheerful, and all-around lovely. The room was comfortable, of a good size, really nice and clean. The food was delicious regardless of the meal. There was parking around the back but no parking at the front unless you were there for less than 30 mins.

The only negative is that if you park put the back, in order to get into the hotel, you have to walk through the 'smoking area/room'. This was not very pleasant as a non-smoker.

Didn't have breakfast as slept. But had a meal night before and it was excellent. I was attending a funeral and the hotel catered an evening meal for the mourners. Good choice in menu. service was excellent and the food was excellent.

It is a beautiful heritage old style building. Big old style windows in the rooms. But the windows were not clean . Such a pity and also a challenge but as they are a feature hotel needs to figure out how to rise to it.

The Listowel Arms is an exceptional hotel. It's a classic of its kind, located right on the square in Listowel. The Arms is welcoming, bright, fresh, filled with fine furniture and flowers, with plenty of lovely sitting areas where friends and family can sit and chat in comfort. It also boasts an excellent restaurant and bar. Unexpectedly, I was upgraded to a suite for my recent stay! What a treat: the suite had a huge king bed, a large bathroom, a sitting area, and a balcony. There was also a bank of windows affording a view over a lovely grassy racetrack behind the hotel. A wonderful stay. Definitely worth every penny.

Food in the restaurant was excellent . The room had a very powerful shower.

The Listowel Arms is outstanding! The staff, down to a person, is probably one of the best in all of Europe. The hotel ownership has created a great culture amongst their staff!

Food is excellent! The bar, dining room, and common areas are excellent. But the staff - being so friendly, professional, and efficient will be the reason I return as often as possible!
