Breakfast was nice. I am vegan and would have loved a few more options. Transport was very easy from hotel location. Staff friendly and helpful.

Our room for two adults and two kids was rather cramped. There was maybe 1 foot of space between our beds- or it felt like that. It was not possible to just relax in the room because of the way the beds were. It was really only a sleeping place.

Great location near Amsterdam Centraal. Loved how they had flavored water in the lobby and the staff was helpful with my questions on transportation and restaurant. Our room had French doors we could open and it made us feel part of the city life when in the room.

We had one day where the staff didn’t service our room but when I called that night they had someone bring more towels and coffee pods. Would love an ice dispenser on the floor.

For the last 15 year, I am going Amsterdam every year. But this hotel have the most helpful and smiling staff I have ever seen. On any problem, they fastly solve your questions. From the reception to house keeping all are %100 professional guys. Thanks to all, especially to guest relations for their lovely letter to us :)) Ps : about the room, it was enough big for a family, king size bed and nearly king size child sofa/bed. Rooms were always clean.

I have no words to say about that.. Just a funny light problem, but solved quickly :)) when you turn off the side lights of the master bed, refrigerator and coffee machine also shuts down. It was a wrong fuse connection, but they solved it very quickly

The location of the hotel was perfect. Everything was so close by. It was in the heart of the red light district. So, for a single guy, that's the place u Want be at. For a family, I'm not so sure. Yet I have seen a lot of families come and go from the hotel, even Arabs families. As long as ur family doesn't go in the middle of it at night after 8/9pm, ur good. I also tried their food it was very good too. Price is reasonable. And make sure u stick with ubers they are cheaper than the regular taxies and easier to get when ur in the street. My trip was 5 nights, and I felt like I needed to go back again to cover the rest. Maybe 7 or 10 nights. would have been better because i didn't have enough time to see the countryside, and they have several cities to must visit. And make sure to take some mushrooms before any art museum like Rijksmuseum, and van gogh museum. It was a way more fun and a better experience , and you would really appreciate the paintings better.

Room was spacious and clean. Bed was big and comfortable. Bathroom had everything we needed. Had a room facing the inside/back garden so it was very quiet. Hotel was clean and spacious (did not go to breakfast). Spa was nice, the sauna spacious. Gym was ok. Staff very nice. In walking distance to many sights and very close to central station.

The gym could be improved, few machines for lower body, needs space for floor workouts like core exercises and yoga (and longer mattresses for that, only two small in the gym). Also the ceiling is a bit low so when you go on some of the machines (step machine and treadmills) you are very near the ceiling (I’m 180 cm and was worrying hitting my head).

The food was great! Liked the relaxed entrance and place to have a glass of wine etc….Little touches like hot wine in the lobby and candy samples etc. wonderful location!

Breakfast was excellent. Jan in the breakfast room was a standout. Friendly and talkative with everyone. One morning 2 staff didn’t show up and breakfast was hectic.

Didn’t like the bath in the bathroom. Very high and dangerous for people to get in and out. I asked for a rubber bath mat to place in the bath and received it. It should automatically be there. Glass partition wasn’t big enough to keep shower water in the bath and floor became wet every day. No fan in bathroom so everything in bathroom was wet. Only one small bottle of water in the room. Two people and only one bottle of water. I asked for a second and we were charged for it. Water should be supplied. Where I am now we are getting 4 bottles a day.

Very clean with comfortable bed and pillow options. The location was perfect if arriving by train - its about 400m walk to the hotel. The staff were very polite and cheerful. It is a functional experience and no more.

Daily car parking charge of 70 euros is too much! The hotel seemed empty at the end of February so there was no atmosphere in the bar. On departure there was no bill presented and without prompting none would have been emailed. It’s not okay to charge your card without confirming the amount in print!

Let me explain to you why I considered my stay in “NH Collection Amsterdam Barbizon Palace” as “outstanding experience”. First, regarding the hospitality and professional of the hotel and its staff, my check-in was fast and very convenient. The staff was super friendly and polite. There is a program of the hotel called “the guest of the day” which, if you are selected, you might upgrade your room to a bigger one and receive an inclusive breakfast “free of charge” (no added cost to the original price). This program gave me an invaluable chance to experience their superior room and breakfast. Second, the room for my family (2 adults and 2 children) was absolutely amazing. We had a big well-equipped room with two double beds, a convenient minibar, and a modern bathroom. Perhaps, you can see the attached photos for better illustration. Believe me, you will like the hotel’s room! Third, the breakfast of “NH Collection Amsterdam Barbizon Palace” was “the best she has ever tried” as my wife said. Due to a tight schedule, we could only spend about 30 minutes in the restaurant for breakfast. However, I could see a wide range of food such as freshly-made butter croissant (you have to try this), breads, fruit and vegetables, salami, hams, sausages, eggs, salmon etc. There were also a lot of choices for drinks and desserts. If you stay here, please give yourself a little more time (than I did) to enjoy their outstanding breakfast! Last, the location of the hotel is among the best to experience central Amsterdam, even to visit places that are far from the city center. At first, I planned to book a hotel close to the bus station where I could just walk to take the bus to Keukenhof garden. However, I changed my mind because I realized that I would just need about 5-minute walk to get to Amsterdam Central station. My decision to choose “NH Collection Amsterdam Barbizon Palace” was absolutely right because it gave me more time to experience the center at day and night time!

The hotel is located close to Amsterdam Central for easy train access. Also close to many nice restaurants & shopping. The room was very nice with lots of amenities (including the best shower!). Four gentlemen occupying the front desk 5 days into our trip were very helpful and changed our whole experience with the hotel for the better. Thanks, guys!

We made our reservations months in advance, requesting a location close to an elevator for mobility reasons. When we checked in, they told us they only had 2 rooms left - both away from elevator access. Our room was 14 steps to a lower level - no elevator. The hotel seems to rely too much on new technology and snob appeal. Good, friendly people service goes a long way. Luckily there were some good staff that improved our experience.
