The hotel was lovely clean and relaxing, my room had a large terrace with two sun lounges with a cover and lovely views. A trip down to como using the train, funicular, is less than 10 minutes' walk from the hotel. Breakfast was good, and the restaurant. The staff was very helpful and made you feel at home, I got on well with all the staff and the owners. Rocco, the owner, and Kiara, the receptionist Will Remember Me Joseph from England helping Rocco with some personal details. Out of generosity, they provided me with some food and beverages for my long drive back to Preston, England. I will be calling in again on my next drive down trip to Italy.

Once we found our way to Vista Lago from the funicular, we were treated to a warm reception by our host, Chiara. Once we were checked in, she offered us drinks on their second-floor terrace, which had a lovely view of Como and the lake below. It was late in the afternoon, and we were relaxing from a long train ride, but Chiara suggested the Hotel Bella Vista down the street for dinner, and offered to make reservations for us on their outdoor terrace. Her timing was impeccable, because the restaurant was already crowded when we arrived, but we enjoyed a table with a spectacular evening view. We enjoyed generous breakfasts in a lovely historic dining room. We had a very comfortable room with a spectacular view of the lake and city below, and the distant mountains above the low clouds the next morning. Brunate is a very quaint, quiet village that overlooks Como far below, but with the funicular is quite convenient to everything in Como, especially the tour boats and ferries that sail up Lake Como. We very much enjoyed our stay here, and this was due mainly to the efforts of our gracious host, Chiara, who was our favorite host of all those we met during our 2-week vacation.

There is no air conditioning, but the large windows open to allow fairly cool breezes at this elevation.

The owners of the hotel are absolutely lovely and extremely caring. They made our stay as comfortable as possible. They helped us with every request and also comfortably accomodated our vegetarian breakfast request. We went there for a weekend as a little family getaway and we couldnt recommend it more. The view is exceptional as well!

The road up there is a bit tricky, but if you have an experienced driver, you're good to go! However there is a funicular that goes up from the city center as well!

We stayed 2 nights,stay was fantastic, especially the view from the room. Personnel of the hotel was extremely friendly.Really important thing-please note,that if you arrive there without car and you will need a taxi from there it will be barely impossible to get one. All the time we used funicular to get to the city,but as the flight we had was really early we needed a transfer.Personnel of the hotel helped us with a very early transfer from hotel to como st giovanni train station (they asked their friend to take us. It was very kind of them!) So,all in all,if you want to spend your holiday with fantastic panorama,choose this hotel!

very clean and perfect location if you like to be away from the main lake area but very easy access to the finiculore tram that takes you down the mountain right to the lake front … very friendly and helpful staff, nice continental breakfast, rooms are dated but the hotel has so much character and the beds are so comfortable, rooms very clean and good shower … the view from our (22) was lovely down over the lake and mountains … we will return

the drive up is very nerve wrecking but we had to have our car with us … if you were arriving by train or other transfer you would just come up on the little tram as it would be so easy

The view from our balcony was spectacular, the hotel is near the funicular entrance so it is easy to go down to Como. The staff were amazing, informative, welcoming, friendly and helpful. Car parking can be arranged by the hotel. Breakfast was ample, there is a bar open until 20:00 and a restaurant open for lunch only, however there are plenty of options for dinner, including a snack on that wonderful balcony!

The hosts were very warm and welcoming, just from the start till the very end of our visit. They made sure that we were comfortable and had a pleasant stay. We reached the property by our rental car and really appreciated the complementary parking space. If not, it would have been so difficult to park anywhere else. Our room had a large terrace overlooking Lake Como and had a comfortable room and ensuite. The host also equipped us with fans since we happened to visit during a heatwave and the heat would have been unbearable. Breakfast was individually served with fresh bread and cheese, pastries and cakes, yoghurt and fruit, tea/coffee to your liking. The property is just opposite the funicular, which gives you access to Como city in 7 mins. It works on a regular schedule till late hours.

Use the funicular to visit Como and other neighboring towns as there is very little to do/places to dine in Brunate. In fact, the hosts prepared for us some snacks and drinks on our arrival since we were hungry and there was no shop open nearby. For the funicular, I suggest you purchase tickets in advance since at times the kiosk from where to buy tickets is closed. Otherwise, it would be very difficult to drive/walk yourself down to the city every time due to its narrow winding roads uphill.

Beautiful location, very helpful and friend staff and owners.

The situation with parking is not explained well and that creates difficulties because even short stopping spots in the village are very limited. What needs to be done is to park in the unloading spot across the main entrance and collect ticket for overnight parking spot. This needs to be explained to the guests better.

The location is perfect with a magnificent view. Also, the staff was extremely helpful and so nice. In particular, Chiara was the best hostess! She made everything very easy and comfortable for us. Thank you! Grazie mille!

The hotel is not in a great shape. The whole building is very old and definitely needs renovation! All the furniture and the bathroom are very old and overused.

We loved our stay, the hotel owner was extremely welcoming and helpful. The breakfast and coffee was fab, on arrival we were warmly greeted and offered an aperitif. Although the location of the hotel is slightly far away from the centre of Como, the location and views were amazing and we were a very short walk from the train station which took you directly to the water front. Overall I would highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay again!
