We absolutely loved every second of our stay here and highly recommend Bastio Private Suites to anyone wishing to visit Catania. The location was perfect, right near the piazza, cathedral etc and next to the fish market. We had a car and street parking was easily found and cheap at 1 euro per night. My only recommendation for those driving is to aim to arrive at usual check in time of 3pm. We arrived early and with the markets busy it was a bit challenging. We can't thank Celso and the team enough we really did love our time there and would have stayed longer if we could. The rooms are absolutely stunning!

Our stay here could not have been more perfect. Celso was at the door to welcome us and help us navigate to the room upon our arrival, and at the end of our stay he helped us arrange a 5am transfer to the airport. He was in touch by imessage throughout our stay to offer assistance whenever needed. The room was exceptional - the pictures on the website don’t do it justice. The entire hotel was built into an ancient city wall, and our room was designed around a massive, ancient arch and merged modern features with the old structure beautifully. It was spacious, and provided everything we needed - coffee machine, fridge, safe, giant tv and an in-room whirlpool. The hotel has a shared terrace with a lovely private view of the Basilica Cattedrale di Sant Agata, but it was really just a 2 minute walk away from the very lively Piazza del Duomo. I would definitely choose to stay here again next time I visit Catania.

There’s no lift in the hotel, and the rooms are up a flight of stairs from the main entrance. It wasn’t a big problem for us as Celso and team helped us with our suitcases on arrival.

We were impressed with this property located in an old building which was thoroughly renovated to the highest standards. The architectural design of the suites is exquisite and maintained the exposed brick arcades of the previous structure. The amenities are also top notch: large comfortable bed, rain-like shower, jacuzzi and more. The breakfast was also very tasty and the host Celso could not have been more welcoming and helpful. Finally, the location is ideal, right in the middle of Catania close to all important sights, which was very useful given that we visited in a very warm period and could not spend a lot of time walking around. There is also a restaurant on the premises which seems great (Michelin guide) but we didn’t get a chance to try as we wanted to eat in the famous fish market.

We had a fabulous stay at Bastiò! All the staff are very polite and helpful. It was so convenient, situated in between the main square and the interbus terminals, so getting to nearby cities for day trips is a breeze. The room is large and well appointed, very clean. The coffee machine and kettle in the room added to the needs of every traveller. Our bathroom comes equipped with a steambath too. The patio is a bonus... it was home away from home.

It was an overall perfect stay. The accommodation is located very central, so that you have restaurants, cafes and sights in walking distance. The rooms were just as shown on the pictures. Very luxurious and with attention to detail! The staff was very friendly and helpful and made our stay an amazing experience. Public parking is also available just outside the house for a reasonable fee. We can highly recommend this place!

The appartment was excellent. It was really easy to find by car with cheap parking very close by. It avoided having to drive through the town too. The host was charming and the appartment itself was superb. It even had a whirlpool jaccuzzi bath in the room along with top of the range equipment. A lovely sun terrace was also available. We also ate in the restaurant which is attached to the property which was great too

The rooms, spacious and beautifully designed. The owners, warm and professional, always available for any request. The location, steps away from the Fish Market, the Duomo square , the Etnea street and all the magnificent monuments Catania has to offer. The great Sicilian breakfast. Everything in this hotel is wonderful.

Fantastic location close enough but a little outside so feels safer and more exclusive. They made an effort to serve us breakfast even though we slept in. The room was great fun for a family to share. Large space with an interesting heritage look with all the modern amenities.

The shower - atleast one - could be frosted for privacy

We enjoyed all about this hotel. Location is great. There is a antique bazaar in front of the hotel on Sundays. Breakfast is so delicious in sicilian style. Rooms has everything you need and comfortable. A michelin guide restaurant is at below hotel. Meals are awesome. Mr. Celso is so kind and friendly. Thank you.

beautiful room, with a hammam spa. incredibly warm and welcoming staff. the perfect place to feel settled and comfortable when just arriving in Sicily. great breakfast and generally beautiful place.

The toilet door is hung badly so doesn’t open fully and catches the floor. The shower door handle was also broken.
