Incredible location just in front of the Duomo in the heart of the centro storico, in a quiet pedastrian street. Premises are old but clean and correct.

As some old buildings, it has some charm but some inconvenients, too, as the lack of elevator.

Terrific location - at the very center of Catania, an easy walk to all the tourist attractions, shopping and dining. 24/7 front desk (important for late arrivals). Very nice, friendly staff. Good size rooms with A/C, well furnished and spotlessly clean, very comfy beds. Would definitely stay here again!

Older historic building converted to a hotel, so no elevator and no lobby (but surprisingly good plumbing!). No breakfast either (apparently they used to serve breakfast - there's a dining area on the 1st floor).

I absolutely LOVED this place! The old school friendly staff at reception, the enormous room, and the location is beyond amazing! The vibe in the piazza is so so nice. And then, there are shutters which blocks out all the noise. Ironically, this Albergo has the fastest WiFi I experienced in two weeks in all of Sicily! I was given un upgrade I didn't have to ask for -- SO SO grateful!

I didn't mind it, because I travel light - but some people will complain about no lift. And this place does need a cash injection, but for me - it was just fantastic and so affordable. (if you like a lot of amenities - you might find it lacking)

Location, that’s the reason I picked this hotel, right on the Piazza del Duomo, with view on the square, good WiFi, close to good restaurants, equipment might seem insufficient but you get the charm of an historical building, staff was great and helpful, would definitely go them again for a short stay

The hotel is a bit dated, I knew that but went for the location, excellent choice if you want to spend a night or two in the Centro Storico

The location was fantastic, right in the centre of the main square, close to the restaurants and things to see and do. The room was very clean and had a traditional touch to it. Also Simone was very friendly and helpful which made us feel relaxed for our first night in sicily. We couldn't have asked for a better host. Also special mention to Piero, who suggested some great places to visit upon our next destination in Taormina and also leant us a knife to cut the watermelon we purchased at the market. They were all very helpful with our baggage situation as we arrived at the airport with missing luggage. They were very helpful in ensuring we received it and took down our next destinations address and kept notes for one another incase the courier turned up when we were not there. Thank you so much!

Nothing, everything met our needs!

The location was great. Sometimes a little noisy because they are renovating the elephant monument but it really is a stunning location. Staff were always helpful

Don't expect a Premier Inn! This is a very old historic building so don't expect too many luxuries. TV is tiny but I didn't use it, antiquated fridge in the middle of the room was noisy. Rooms could generally do with a refresh but they do have a certain charm

The location overlooking the Piazza Duomo was perfect for us. It had been 36 years since we were in Catania and our stay at the Hotel Centrale Europa gave us the opportunity to once again explore this beautiful city. There were abundant restaurants and bars and shops in very walkable distances, which is a priority when we travel with our friends. The rooms were very comfortable and provided a very good night’s sleep. We would definitely choose this hotel for our return visit!

The location is simply the perfect and best location in Catania. Rooms have french doors and balconies looking over the Unesco World Heritage Piazza del Duomo. I am sure that this hotel was the greatest in the city some decades ago. The building is a grand baroque lava stone with exquisite marble trim work. The hotel is quite clean, bathroom functioned well. French doors were a nice touch...I left them ajar all night. There are many restaurants within a block, some nice looking ones on the ground floor of this building. My view was of the piazza, the elefante statue and the stunning duomo cathedral. Especially when lit at night. The evening passagiata is right there on Via Etnea. I walked to the Alibus stop for the airport...only 2 blocks (200m) away. The price was 40% of what other hotels are. It is a bargain!

This hotel while clean, secure and in a beautiful building is desperately in need of an interior renovation. The furniture is old, the bathroom is old, the decor is old. The worst part is there is no elevator. This is a big dislike when you have luggage. The lobby and entrance is not where it originally was 60 years ago. It is now on the side of the building and the original entry has been leased to upscale restaurants.

The building is located opposite the cathedral in the heart of the city. It is a historic building, with no lift so not ideal for mobility problems. The furnishings are 80s style, and would need a refurbishment but it is clean. the reception staff were all very friendly and offered to keep our luggages until check-in and after check-out time. We did not have breakfast included but there are cafeterias everywhere.

Needs a good refurbishment.

This is the best experience I had in a hotel in Europe! I travel a lot, and I have also been to many cities in Italy, but I have never had such an experience. The host, an amazing person, helped me with everything, showed me places that exist in the city for recreation, explained everything to me patiently, was attentive to all my needs. The hotel itself is equipped with everything you need, everything is modern, the dishes in the kitchen, the place is sterile, clean, everything is new. The hotel contains three rooms which gives a lot of privacy and is a 15 minute walk from the city. The hotel has a central bathroom and a central kitchen. The host is very kind and takes care of everything. Strongly recommends!

For me it was a little bit hard that the shower wasn’t in my room- but that’s a small problem. The place is amazing and super clean
