We were checked in by Julia who was extremely welcoming, friendly and helpful. We later met Lucia on reception who was also fantastic, helping us in whatever way she could with a welcoming and friendly approach. This makes such a difference when you first walk into a hotel and these two young ladies certainly do an extremely good job at making you feel at ease and welcome. The hotel is located in a wonderful position which overlooks a small inlet harbour which has small boats moored there. Our room overlooked this and had a small balcony which we enjoyed sitting on in the evening. It's only a 10 minute walk to the train station from the hotel, and the ferry to reach other places located around the lake, is only a short walk away as are lots of restaurants and the shops. We caught the train to Verona one day, to Venice another and also did part train, part ferry to Lazise. You can catch the fast train or the normal train (the cost is quite a difference). Breakfast was good and served by friendly, attentive ladies in the mornings. You could either sit outside, overlooking the harbour, or inside. All in all, a really lovely stay at Desenzano at the Piroscafo! Thank you for our lovely room and to all the great staff there! We hope to visit again one day!

We liked everything!

We had a very warm & very friendly welcome from Julia & also met Lucia on reception later who was also really friendly and helpful. The hotel is in a fantastic location overlooking a small inlet harbour. It has restaurants around the harbour & shops & more restaurants in the town just a short walk from the hotel. It is only a short walk to the lakeside too, with lovely walks along the lakefront & a short pier too. Beautiful area! There's a market on a Friday selling all sorts of things - so many stalls & interesting to look around. Its a 10 min walk (all uphill though), from the train station where we caught a train to Venice & Verona. Plus, there is a main ferry hub in Desenzano. Lovely stay at hotel Piroscafo in Desenzano! Thank you to all the staff there who made our stay so enjoyable! Ps. We had a room overlooking the harbour with a balcony which made our stay even nicer!

We could not fault anything!

Amazing location. Loved being able to have breakfast outside in the piazza area. The staff were really nice and the food selection was good. The historical building was also lovely to see especially the terrace area which could be used as a relaxation area by all guests. Very close to the lake ferry which was super convenient.

The lift was a bit small but this is not something which impacted our stay since we were travelling light and were based on the first floor so we rarely needed to use it.

Everything. The location was central (good for the ferries) with excellent views of the small harbour, which was also lovely at breakfast and from the terrace area. The rooms were clean and tidy. The staff were friendly and helpful.

The only negatives were having to lift suitcases up a flight of stairs, (which was not ideal for older travellers) and the rooms were perhaps a little dark (although as we didn’t spend much time in the room it wasn’t too big an issue).

The location was lovely beside the old port and just a few minutes to the lakeside. There were plenty of choice of restaurants and bars. The hotel is right on the waterside and our room had a small balcony which was nice for sitting outside during the day or evening

Nothing in relation to the hotel. The only thing was that most restaurants served the same type of food there was no difference.

We were pleasantly surprised when the hotel upgraded our room to one with a small balcony, and we had a gorgeous view overlooking the old harbour. The staff were wonderful (including surprising my husband with gluten-free options at breakfast, because the girl at the front desk told the breakfast staff we had inquired about gluten-free restaurants for dinner the night before.) Due to the heat in Desenzano in June, the air conditioning was greatly appreciated!

Absolutely perfect location, especially if you are taking the train. The view over the harbour is amazing. The staff (women) were lovely and very helpful. Having a balcony overlooking the harbour is perfect but be mindful that the square is busy at night. The breakfast was very varied for a continental buffet and they were very accommodating with my allergy. Desenzano is beautiful, we were not disappointed.

There was nothing we didn't like. It was perfect.

Check in was excellent and quick - many thanks to the kind lady on reception for facilitating this. Room was OK (I guess you get what you pay for) and was quiet considering we were in the middle of town. Location was perfect, near the lakefront and the busy port area.

Getting coffee with breakfast seemed to be much harder than it should have been - took ages to come. Might be worth investing in a coffee machine or two so that guests can get it when they want it.

we really loved our stay in this absolutely amazing hotel. terrace full of flowers overlooking small port, breakfast under grapewine leaves. we were upgraded to spacious and comfortable room, everything was super clean, beds could be a bit more comfortable but generally room and equipment was superb. I have to highlight very courteous, friendly and helpful staff, we felt very welcomed here. we enjoyed hotel alone, the location and the atmosphere.

Location was very close to shopping. Loved the walk along water but best of all was being "serernaded" by violin one evening. Room exceeded our expectations. From the balcony to tea n coffee in the room. We missed bacon n fried eggs but was happy with what was served.

All was great for us but if I had to mention somethings it would be the size of our room ( bit of a tight squeeze ) as was the Shower.
