Hotel Nazionale

Fantastic little hotel, only a very short walk to the centre of the town. Well presented interior and rooms, the family room that we had was very spacious. Loved the breakfast in a morning, sitting out on the veranda overlooking the pool. The pool area itself was spotlessly clean, and there was more than enough sun beds for everyone. Free parking was a bonus. As for Desenzano, what a delightful place, very beautiful and with loads of restaurants, bars and shops. And all excellent value... we expected high prices, but all the meals and drinks were cheaper than you would expect to pay in the UK. Would highly recommend the sunset boat tour around Sirmione. Finally, the hotel staff were all extremely friendly.

delightfully attractive building very close to the town and lake. Asked to change rooms when we arrived for a little quieter room as I’m a light sleeper and that was no trouble at all. Staff exceptional - I was taken ill during our visit and the staff couldn’t have been more helpful, sorting out food and linen changes etc. breakfast very good - a really lovely pleasant hotel. first class.

Lovely, clean, modern hotel! Very approachable and welcoming staff who are always happy to help. Breakfast was delicious. The pool was very clean and well looked after and was never overly busy which meant you could always use a sun lounger and relax. The rooms and bathrooms had everything you needed, including a fridge, TV and air conditioning. Wifi was also free and worked very well! The hotel is a 5 minute walk from the town and lake where you can catch a ferry to another town, you are also very close to multiple bike shops which you can rent bikes from. I loved it here and hope to return soon in the future!

No complaints, we had an amazing stay and would recommend to anyone wishing to visit lake Garda!

The highest standards in all areas. Staff were approachable and spoke good english.....it was easy to make ourselves understood.The rooms were maintained to a high standard and we particularly liked the pool to cool down and relax in during the late afternoon.I liked the free use of the underground garage to keep our car safe and secure out of the hot sun

Lovely hotel and exceptional staff. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. Great pool facilities. An Easter Egg was left in all the rooms for Easter Sunday which was a nice touch and a table full of goodies was set up for breakfast that day.

The only slight negative was that there is no tea / coffee making facilities. However, when we mentioned it a kettle and cups were brought up to our room immediately.

Breakfast was nice had everything you could want. Including champagne. Which was good as it it was my birthday on the 12th. Hence the reason for going.

No tea or coffee facilities in the room. Couldn’t get a cup of coffee when we arrived at midnight.

The staff was very friendly, especially the two waiters at the restaurant. The room and whole hotel area were very clean and well organized. The beds were comfortable, the breakfast was tasty with a good choice -fruits, different types of bread, yogurts, cheese, eggs, etc. The swimming pool was very nice - my kid just loved it! Although the hotel is not directly by the lake, the center of Desenzano and the Garda Lake is just like four-five minutes away. We had really a wonderful stay!

Pool area is great! Breakfast very nice, spent a whole day just hanging out at the pool. Free underground parking garage. Very nice interior decor and friendly, helpful staff. Nice, modern bathroom.

The double bed was made of 2 mattresses unfortunately and the pillows are very poor. Also would have been nice if the room had carpeting, but my experince so far in Italy with 3 and 4 star hotels is that they don't do carpeted rooms.

Our second stay at the Hotel Nazionale after several years. Firstly the location of the hotel is second to none. The standard of the rooms is excellent and the very kind staff are more than willing to offer assistance all the time. But above all, during these strange Covid 19 times, I found their standards of hygiene and safety precautions in relation to the virus to be of the highest level. I cannot understand how this hotel is only rated 3 stars. I can only assume it is because there is no restaurant facility. However, the breakfast provided is of the highest quality , and tasty light meals are also available.

Hard to find any faults with this hotel. Undoubtedly the best place to stay in Desenzano del Garda

Staff are very friendly, hotel is relatively small but the facilities are great. Pool is very clean and we never had a problem finding space. Breakfast is ok but the staff are very friendly and cannot do enough to help.
