I had the pink grandma's room in photo with private bathroom. Basic. Small shower, but adequate- I banged into curtain if I turned around. Bedlights too dim to read, must turn on main light as well. Streetlight beside window and thin curtains so bring eyemask. Didnt see anyone in reception for 2 days until I checked out. No bedmaking/bin emptying etc Towels changed every 3 days notice on wall says. Eat at Osteria Santo Spirito on corner of that square- if you queue at 715pm you will get a table when opens at 730pm or must book by text. Entry to Pitti Palace half price if you go in before 930am with same day ticket purchase. Dont bother with Boboli- just a big expensive park not garden as such.

Flattest pillows I have EVER seen- 6cm. One per person

I think this hotel must be the best deal in town. I loved the location. Close to the Duomo, even closer to Palazza Pitti. And very very close to the river. I realized, while staying here, that I prefer south of the river. The restaurants are less expensive and it has a more down to earth, not too fancy, chill feel about it. The owners gave me restaurant recommendations and they were all south of the river, and I see why. This hotel is not even a block away from Piazza Santa Trinità, which has live music every night from buskers. A wonderful opera singer One night, a classical trio another nights, and so on. So wonderful and magical. Back to the hotel... there is an elevator if you have trouble with stairs, but it is only one floor up. It was very quiet in the hotel. I was at first concerned about the shared bathroom, but at no time did I have to wait to use it. The owner takes amazing care to keep it very very clean. Everytime I took a shower, I heard him disinfecting it almost immediately for the next person. The beds are extremely firm, which is not rare for Italy. In fact, every bed I have stayed on in this country has been hard as a rock, for me. If you love firm beds, you're in luck. My back has never felt better! I has room #1, which had a sink and bidet in the room and windows that opened and looked out over a sweet little courtyard. I was very happy, comfortable, and I would recommend it to just about anyone who doesn't need luxury. To me, the friendliness and helpfulness of the owners is all the luxury I needed.

Niente. Nothing. Nada.

The entire experience was wonderful. Alessio and Asumi are excellent hosts who make you feel welcome and looked after. The location is the most central you could ask for. The building is beautiful and they've preserved the aesthetic of its original purpose! The sink in the bedroom was a big plus as it helps if you've opted for a shared bathroom!

The shower pressure was just a little bit too weak, and the fan in the bedroom, while fully functional, could do with an upgrade. But that shouldn't put you off booking to stay here, it's an absolutely wonderful place to stay.

For me the highlight of the room was the superb bed and very nice bedding, with silky cotton sheets and real wool blankets. The hand towel was also of excellent quality. The rest of the room had great character and plenty of space. You can't beat the location for convenience to the sights and eateries, the river and pretty close to the train too. The owners were first class people and very helpful to me with recommendations and orientation.

The shower was a bit weak, but for all I know water pressure may be out of the hotel's control. I'm sure they would fix it if they could, because management evidently takes care of other details.

Our stay was amazing, it feels very homey and authentic, both hosts were lovely and very knowledgable, they were there to help for anything we needed. The location is perfect! It’s right in the centre and the prices aren’t extortionate. Don’t be put off by the shared bathroom either, its very clean and we never had any issues, we also had a sink in our room so it wasn’t a great inconvenience. Couldn’t recommend you to stay her enough!

our only issue was the lack of air con as we went during the summer although they do have fans so it was manageable and didn’t bother us too much.

Beautifully furnished hotel in the most central area of Florence! The sink in the room was helpful and made up for the shared bathroom. Our view from the room was gorgeous. The hotel is a few minutes from the Ponte Vecchio but tucked away from tourists. The staff were very friendly and helpful -- they gave us recommendations in the area!

Shared bathroom could be a little inconvenient -- we had to wait to use it occasionally. Locks were slightly tricky to figure out. The lobby is located on the second floor of the building, but there is a small elevator if you need it.

Excellent location, just a 5 minute walk to historical and famous places, but also quiet at night and relatively easy to access from the train station. The owners are so kind and helpful, they gave me a detailed map and pointed out the best placed to see in and around Florence. Very cosy, simple accomodation!

There is a shared bathroom between a few rooms, so just had to time my showers/toilet breaks around them. Note, there is no a/c, but they do provide a fan which was perfectly sufficient in the heat.

I stayed 3 nights in a single room with shared bathroom. The room and the shared bathroom were clean and spacious and the entire hotel was beautifully decorated with a personal touch. The location couldn’t be better. The hosts were very friendly and accommodating and provided a lot of good advice and information about the city. I would definitely stay at the hotel again!

The only minor thing was that the bathroom was quite far from the room and it was difficult to know if it was occupied or not without trying to open the door.

Was very pleased with the location and value of Hotel Cestelli. We loved staying close to everything in Florence. The evenings were magical and lovely to wander without having a care in the world listening to musicians in the square or by the river next to the hotel. It is owned by a lovely couple and the rooms they rent out have a shared bathroom. They provided lots of great recommendations and helped book transportation to the airport and store our luggage while our room was not yet ready. The other guests were very quiet and respectful throughout our stay. There was no AC but even though the daytime temperatures were high it was ok at night having a fan in the room.

Convenient location and friendly owners. I got an excelent restaurant recommendation from the owners japanese wife. While not my style, the decor of the room was nice. In terms of amenities the room was very basic though, so do not expect too much.

WIFI was barely working and my iPhone told me there would be a security risk by using it. Hotel got a bit noisy a bit early when i would have prefered to catch one more hour of sleep (bit after 9:00). The elevator is pretty tiny, so claustrophobic or stronger built, more voluminous individual who do not want to take the stairs, might want to avoid this. Did not find a way to fully block the windows via curtain, etc. So theoretically someone from opposite the street could have looked into the room. Did not seem very likely though and only at weird angles. But if this is something that concerns you, now you know.
