The hotel features a lovely building with nice decor both inside and in the room. The room and bathroom offer great space and amenities, and the bed is comfortable, equipped with high-quality linen. Both the front desk and restaurant staff are attentive and courteous, which adds to the overall pleasant experience. The location is perfect, situated close to the train station and bus stop in an excellent neighborhood with plenty of market and restaurant options. Additionally, the breakfast was by far the best I had in Italy. We were given a nice gift - a book - which was helpfull for our long train trips.

There was a lamp in the room that could not be turned off, which was quite inconvenient. Additionally, I really missed having a mirror in the room; I couldn't do my makeup while my husband was in the shower because of this lack. We stayed at the hotel for seven nights from November 4 to 11, during which the nighttime temperatures ranged from 6 to 10 degrees Celsius. Unfortunately, the heater was only active for three of those nights, leaving the room cold on the other nights. When we called the reception to complain about the heating issue, we were informed that the heater is only operational during certain periods of the year :(

The hotel itself is unassuming from the outside but really lovely as soon as you walk through the doors. The staff are around 24/7 and very happy to help with anything. The rooms were very clean and tidy. We were so happy that we tried to book a second night there but unfortunately they were fully booked. Would recommend them any day!

Loved everything but the only small issue is for tall/larger people. For someone who is quite average, the shower we had was very small and it was quite difficult to turn around in. The beds are not extra length and for my husband it was not very comfortable having bars at the ends of the bed. This will surely not affect everyone and is certainly not a reason for us to not stay in the hotel again.

We were greeted by friendly and welcoming staff. I particularly enjoyed the lovely breakfast with a wide choice of options! The hotel has spacious and clean rooms in an excellent location. Thank you!

I would ask for a rear facing room, there is a noisy bar in the street below which gets busy at around midnight on the weekend. However, with earplugs I slept well.

Palazzo dal Borgo certainly came out of a fairy tale! It was the most beautiful and perfect place I stayed in my travel to Italy. The dream to know Firenze certainly became a sweet truth because of this lovely accommodation. We were welcomed with so much attention and gentleness. All the people who we talked with were so polite and kind. The room was perfect, the clean, the beds, the air conditioning, the bathroom, the amenities, the view…. The breakfast was from the gods, with amazing foods and beverages, in a beautiful salon or under a marvelous tree. The location of the hotel is perfect, near the train station Santa Maria Novela and a walk to the historical center. I strongly recommend Palazzo dal Borgo because my days here were phenomenal and unforgettable! I loved!

I have been to Hotel Palazzo dal Borgo several times in the past and always find the personnel extremely helpful and friendly. The location is fantastic! Walking distance from everywhere. Only a few minutes from the train station. If you arrive by car, the hotel calls a garage nearby and takes care of it for you. The rooms are comfortable and very clean.

I personally like sleeping in rather cool rooms, but for someone the rooms might be a bit cold and heating up the room takes a while. Most rooms are very quiet but this time I was on the first floor and the window was facing the street, so it was a little noisy.

The property itself was an old building with beautiful stairways and other architectural features. My favorite spot was in the library where we had breakfast and looked at the lovely orange tree. But more than the hotel itself we loved the staff. From the front desk to the breakfast room they were all so kind and helpful. My husband would say they were his favorite part of our stay. For us, the location couldn’t have been more perfect. The street was quiet as was our room and we felt very safe. Nothing was more than a 15-20 minute walk away and we loved our leisurely walks without public transportation.

Our shower was a bit small and the doors were difficult but it was a very small thing. We were in a triple and the separate bed/lounger wasn’t terribly comfortable but with all that walking, sleep wasn’t a challenge.

It looks like an old palace which provides us special feelings among staying at this hotel. Old but very clean and tidy. Especially bathroom. Bit overpriced however breakfast included which is superb.

Wall is bit thin you can hear voice next you clearly.

The staff were amazing, friendly, knowledgeable, unfailingly cheerful. Nothing was a bother. The staff make this place! Breakfast offered a something for everyone, including decent coffee to start off the day! Centrally location is perfect and the view of the Church of Santa Maria Novella from my window was like seeing a postcard come to life. Five minutes from the train station. Everywhere is in walking distance. Easy to get around. The tram is even closer than the train and only costs €1.70 to get from the airport to the Unita stop. The hotel is a three minute stroll away. Perfect! Lots of great places to eat. And the close by Pam supermarket had sandwiches and salad for those days I wanted easy. Awesome spot!

The lack of sound proofing, although as this is a very old building, it is to be expected. It is not do much from other rooms (some things you just don't need to hear)or people walking on tiled floors but somewhere near my room there was a compressor (I think) that kept going off every few minutes. It was not so bad during the day but was not good at night and interrupted sleep. Yes I could have asked to be moved but as soundproofing was lacking (as is to be expected - it is a very old building), it may not have been better somewhere else. And the view is spectacular!) I would definitely stay again but would discuss the compressor noise when making a booking.

I had a fantastic stay at this hotel. The location is perfect, right next to Santa Maria Novella Pharmacy, one of my favorite places in the world, and just a short walk from the train station. Surrounded by great restaurants and iconic bars like Giacosa, where the Negroni was created, it’s totally my kind of place - cozy, with a rich history yet very much living in the moment. The elegant décor, impeccable service, and lively atmosphere with guests from all over the world made the experience truly special. The breakfast was delicious, too. I can’t wait to return.

My room was a bit on the small side, but that’s probably a downside of booking last minute.

Staff were extremely friendly. The room was nice and comfortable. Lovely touches with the book and welcome letter. Breakfast was good and breakfast staff very helpful.

The room was noisy, right next to the lift, when we opened the door, people were stood right there. The room could have been cleaner, and under the bed was very dusty. The window was very draughty and noisy and quite cold on some occasions with no rugs or carpets on the floor. I thought the hotel was closer to the Cathedral, but that was my fault.
