Super friendly and professional staff, especially Laura, who contacted me a few hours before my arrival, told me how to get to the destination by the tram, showed me all the must-see places around on the map, recommended the best bakeries and coffee places. The location is very close to the city center, tea and coffee available 24/7 in the hotel, everything you need is in your room or in the kitchen. Train station is 10 minutes by walking, restaurants and bars are maximum 20 minutes walking. If you are looking for a true Italian hospitality this place is for you

We loved Laura! She was so friendly and patient upon our arrival when we were confused as to entry as first time B &B customers. Even prior to our arrival she was quickly responsive to our questions via the booking cite and went above and beyond to give specific walking directions. Breakfast was delivered to our room by Laura and her husband(?). What a Lovely way to start the day in a new place! and it was delicious with generous portions. Laura clearly cares about providing top service!

A little bit out of the way for walking for persons of a certain age (lol) or if not in too shape. Nothing against the property, though…just a note.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this charming B&B near the center of Florence. The host was genuinely warm and welcoming, making sure we felt at home from the moment we arrived. The rooms were impeccably clean, exuding a cozy ambiance that instantly made us feel relaxed. Mornings were a delight with a sumptuous breakfast that set the tone for our day. The prime location, just a stone's throw away from Florence's bustling center, made sightseeing and exploring a breeze. Highly recommended for travelers looking for a blend of comfort, hospitality, and convenience in the heart of the city.

It was easy to get to the hotel from the airport. You just had to take the tram line T2 and get off at Belfiore. Laura's really sweet and helpful. The double bed was super comfy and the air conditioner in the room was a lifesaver. There's an elevator in the building. The breakfast was so cute. They'd ask you in the morning what you'd like for breakfast and then bring it so you could enjoy it in either your room or the shared kitchen. My partner loved the toast.

You could hear everytime someone went into the building. Especially when other guests entered your floor, the doors were slamming so loud. So if you're a light sleeper like me, you should bring ear plugs.

It was value-for-money. I paid about 400 euros for four nights - which was much cheaper than some other stays I had in other parts of Europe for a busy time of the year. The host/owners were very helpful.

The location of the property is right next to a busy thoroughfare. A tram line is located right outside the property. I'm a heavy sleeper so I was fine - but if you are a light sleeper you may have issues...

Very pleasant accommodation in the center of Florence, very close to the train and bus stations. There are tram and bus stops close to the hotel.I highly recommend this b&b accomodation, suitable for both short and longer stays. Cozy room with modern furnishings, very comfortable bed (we appreciated that after walking around Florence all day 😄), bath room with the shower, air conditioning/heating. Kitchen available (fridge, stove, microwave oven, kettle), smoking area (balcony close to the kitchen). Very nice , friendly communication with the hotel, Laura is very nice and communicative, she gave us all the necessary informations before and during our stay and a lot of recommendations and advices, so thanks to her we really enjoyed our stay in Florence. We will be happy to use Il Giglio rosso again for our next stays in Florence.

good sized room , very clean and comfortable too …..Laura was so helpful and kind from the moment we booked and asked if we could drop our bags off much earlier than our check in …. Breakfast was delicious and she went out of her way to sort out gluten-free and lactose free items 😁….. breakfast is brought to your room each morning,and there are tea and coffee making facilities in the reception area. you also have your own fridge which is useful. generally an excellent value for money b&b ,in a walkable location to the main areas of Firenze 😁👍

We really liked our stay here, the host Laura was really accommodating and friendly, gave us some good advice and was really helpful. Our room was clean and spacious, perfect for a couple. There was a fridge provided, too. Also, there was a kettle in the hall, so you can make some tea or coffee in the morning. Both provided. I know some people mentioned it was noisy because of the traffic, but personally, we didn't have any noise issues. The property is not too far away from the main attractions, maybe 15-20mins walk, which was perfect for us. It was a great stay, thank you!

Nice interior design, renovated and spacious room and bathroom, friendly service. Conveniently located near the central station.

Just a 10 minute walk from the train station, also close to Mercato Centrale. A tiny bit useful elevator at the end of a long day of walking. Excellent black out curtains and a great sized bathroom for Europe.

Sounds. You can hear everything that happens in the hallway. Construction sounds beginning at 8am! I’m sure the work will be completed soon; it was the only detriment to our stay.
