Everything in this place was amazing. Particularly the kindness and willingness to help of the members of staff; from the reception persons to the person who made the room. The service was exceptional. Nothing was too much trouble. They also have a doctor on call 24/7, which was a blessing during my stay. I needed a mat to exercise daily and it was delivered to my room as part of the service in no time. The room was beautiful with a balcony to the garden from which I could hear the water fountain. The beds are great, the breakfast selection was excellent and the coffee was something else (take my word: I am a Melburnian... :o) ) The gym, spa, sauna facilities are stunning. The location is excellent. Walking distance to Santa Maria Novella railway station and church, the Duomo, Medici Chappels, the Central Market. It was a fabulous complement to a great holiday.

Don't advertise you have a pool and then tell us we cant use it without booking. its a spa not a pool and when its hot and you want a hotel with a pool you can cool off in but cant its false advertising. would have stayed elsewhere at the price had we known

From the moment we checked in the entire hotel staff was exceptional. They were friendly and went out of their way to assist us with any of our needs. The restaurant staff was always welcoming and very friendly. We enjoyed the spa and well as the rear courtyard which was a pleasant way to relax after a long day. Housekeeping also did an excellent job of keeping our rooms clean and fresh. The hotel is well thought out with very nice decor. The rooms were large for European standards and well-furnished. The bathrooms were good-sized.

Wonderful hotel, an island of comfort and relaxation right in the center of bustling area of big city. From the outside it does not look much maybe, but upon entering you get transported into a "resort" right in the middle of Florence. Lots of light, toned soft decor, water features, sun beds, trees and grass and the view to the famous Duomo cupola! Very nicely decorated, comfortable and quiet room. The hotel staff extremely friendly and helpful. I do not remember when I was impressed so much with the accommodation!

This boutique hotel provides outstandingly clean and well provisioned rooms. The small pool, spa and garden are a bonus and very welcome after a hot days site seeing. But the star of the show has to be the kind, helpful and exceedingly efficient staff who deserve huge amounts of praise. Nothing was too much trouble and everything was done for the guests benefit and comfort. Thank-you one and all.

I am hard pushed to think of something. a few more sun beds perhaps but then that would maybe spoil the garden.

This was a beautiful hotel with an amazing courtyard and pool, which my daughter spent several hours in! :D The staff were incredibly friendly and went our of their way to make us feel welcome. The room was quiet and comfortable and the bathroom was full of amenities. Breakfast was delicious and consisted of many different items. We also loved meeting the cat "Poolie" (?) and watching him dart around the property. Such a great stay!

Great Location. Really helpful and friendly staff. Hotel was nicely decorated, clean and comfortable. Air conditioning in the rooms was fantastic. Outside area offered a great space to rest and chill out, away from the bustle of Florence. Spa had good facilities and the small pool was great for relaxing in. Because the spa and pool area is small, you are asked to book a slot when you want to use it, to avoid the spa/pool getting too busy. Good choice of food at breakfast and a nice lunch and dinner menu. Would recommend this hotel and would definitely stay there again, if ever in Florence.

Have no negative things to say about the hotel. The only suggestion I can think of is perhaps to provide a larger relaxing indoor seating area/lounge area (other than the dinning area) in which to chill out in when the temperatures outside are so hot and you want to take some time out in air conditioning.

loved every minute the staff were lovely , the hotel was spotless and modern , the complementary spa was fabulous . breakfast was more than adequate apart from would have liked an egg option apart from scrambled or hard boiled but plenty of other options . the facial in the spa was exceptional. the hotel is in a great position for sightseeing. loved the complimentary bar great touch . definitely will return

there was so much to love about Palazzo Castri 1874. getting the by car was a challenge given how complicated the streets of Florence are but when we arrived, we were greeted so warmly that the stress of getting there was gone. The first thing you notice is the wonderful aroma of lemons! the room, while small, was perfect in every way. The bed was super comfy, the bathroom/shower was very well equipped and the bath products smelled heavenly. it was nice to receive branded robes and spa slippers as well. it was my husband’s 60th birthday and he was sure by a delicious peach tart, complete with a candle.

This hotel was wonderful - the staff was fantastic, the breakfast delicious, rooms clean and comfortable and location perfect! Close to everything Florence has to offer yet the gardens and pool area made you feel like you were tucked away from the busy city. Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone planning a visit to Florence!
