Sarah is an exceptional host who went out of her way to make us comfortable. The bed is very large and comfortable. The room was spotless and made up every day. The water was hot and the shower was good.The building has a feel of history and is very close to everything. There is a Carrefour Express near and an excellent Trattoria d Leo very close. The communal sitting room is well presented and a pleasant place to relax.

We managed OK, but some people with large luggage may find the stair access difficult. Sarah is on hand to help if necessary.

The location, room, and ambience were excellent

The breakfast was not on site as we were led to believe from reviews. We were given a €10. Voucher for 2 people to spend at a nearby Cafe. This amount only provided a minimal choice. The Cafe did not open until 10 am. When we returned to the room to collect our bags, the maid had already started to strip the room and moved personal possessions, all before 11am checkout.

Everything! The location is perfect, the staff (I dealt with Sarah) was exceptional, couldn’t have been more helpful. The room was lovely, very clean, and you basically just stepped out the front door and you had these amazing restaurants on your doorstep. I tried to stay an extra night I loved it (and Lucca in general) so much, but they were fully booked! Wonderful stay would thoroughly recommend!

Location is excellent, lovely room and staff superb.

The only minor criticism would be the breakfast - understand the need (and it is noted in the premises) the requirements that COVID impose, but we would liked to have seen options that we could have chosen rather than platters of food provided, of which some would have been wasted ........... also, fresh fruit at least should have been available, which it was in the other 3 locations we stayed at.

Loved the rooms. Loved Lucca. Rather a lot of noise from downstairs late into the night but don’t know if that was from a restaurant or another room! Lovely lady at reception.

No access to washing machine and dryer. Had trouble getting out of the old gate near front door! Only caused a laugh though!

We stayed in the suite that has its own terrace which was wonderful! Cindy was welcoming and lovely. She made us feel comfortable and was responsive to any request we had. The property is beautiful and stately.

Our only disappointment was the breakfast. They are not serving a hot breakfast, only store bought food. However, each morning there was fresh fruit which was appreciated.

Daniela's personal touch. All the staff were friendly. We had health problems during our stay and Daniela was really helpful and kind in so many ways.

The bed was a bit firmer than we liked, but that's a personal thing.

Great location, just a 100m off the main shopping street but very quiet. Very friendly staff and lovely breakfast. Accommodated a late breakfast just before checkout time which is 11am where most properties are 10am in Lucca.

The only slight negative was the noise of the plumbing which in our room meant any night flush woke the other half

The Relais San Lorenzo is located at the heart of the old city in a building that is also the home of a museum of an ancient roman domus. It is a beautiful setting in a beautiful city. The rooms are decorated with antique furniture and are large with a large bathroom and make for a very nice stay. A nice breakfast is served in an elegant dining room, close to the house lounge, fitted to the whole place atmosphere. A very nice stay at a very nice location in an even nicer city.

Everything about this hotel was absolutely incredible. The look of the rooms and lobby, the location, and the staff were the best. I will absolutely recommend to everyone i know.
