It’s located in the heart of Lucca and the staff were, without exception, absolutely lovely. There was a wide variety of food to choose from for breakfast, including delicious, fresh pastries, cheese and ham, fruit, yogurt juices, eggs and cereal. It was spotlessly clean, and one thing I particularly liked was the fact there was a diffuser with the hairdryer for my curly hair in the bathroom – something I have only ever found at one other hotel before so top marks for that, and thank you very much. 

As with the other three Italian hotels we stayed in during our trip, the pillows were thin and a couple quite lumpy.

The owners, Deborah & Marco were welcoming, caring hosts. Deborah greeted me each morning at breakfast as if I were the only guest. She always had a smile on her face. Marco cheerfully attended to any issue in my room. I accidentally dropped a remote behind the radiator and he put together a gadget to fish it out. Chiara at the front desk helped me arrange for a car to take me to the Florence airport. My experience at La Boheme was wonderful!

La Boheme is right in the heart of Lucca, so it's a perfect location to explore the charming walled town. We stayed in the Madama Butterfly room. It was quite large, with a small bistro table with an extra-large bathroom with a shower stall and a separate bathtub. A fantastic breakfast is served at 8:30 am with fruit juices, pastries, seasonal fruit, cereal, yogurt, eggs to order, and cappuccino.

The check-in process was a bit unorganized because several guests arrived simultaneously, and one employee was trying to accommodate everyone, which is understandable. We had an issue with the air conditioning unit in the room in the evening, and no one was around to help, so sleeping in a warm room was rough.

The room was more like an apartment sized area, the bed was very comfortable, tastefully and traditionally decorated, with good air con. Deborah and her team were a real joy to be around, offering a personable service breakfast was also lovely Location wise it was perfect, short walking distance to everything you may wish to see in beautiful Lucca The best compliment I could pay is we can’t wait to stay here again

Nothing. A slight gripe was the lack of lift for luggage, it would be difficult for a disabled person, but for us it was fine

The location was fabulous. Our room was really comfortable, with a great shower. Breakfast was very good, with nice continental selection, and eggs prepared if you wished. The absolute best we’re the hosts: can’t say enough good things about the care and attention we received, especially from Deborah. She arranged reservations for wonderful restaurants, gave good advice about things to see, and was so cheerful and pleasant. Everything was more than expected. Will be happy to return.

I can give this place a 10/10 with no hesitation. Easy to find, great communication (as long as you give a heads up when you are arriving- after hours checkin is available with notice), the rooms are spacious, and the breakfast! WOW! The manager of La Boheme is a gem, and she’s the kind of person who thinks of all the details to make your stay memorable and special. Wish we could’ve stayed longer than 2 nights but there’s always next time!

La Boheme is in a beautiful old building full of character. Each of the bedrooms are themed on a Puccini opera. Ours was Manon Lescaut which was more of a suite. Superbly decorated and spotlessly clean we had a perfect two night break in Lucca. Debora and her family made us very welcome and the breakfast was very tasty and generous. This is a perfect place to stay when exploring Lucca.

Really enjoyed how friendly the staff were. Breakfast was great, and it's a fantastic location. Got a good night's sleep and were ready to rock and roll the next morning with my batteries fully recharged!

Nothing really. It's up a flight of stairs, but pretty much everything in Lucca is. If you had serious mobility issues it might be a problem. Really, there was nothing NOT to like.

Excellent location, walking distance from the train station and in the heart of Lucca Centro Storico. The staff was incredibly welcoming and prepared a wonderful vegan breakfast (since I advised in advance of my dietary restrictions). They also recommended a great pizzeria where we found very nice vegetarian options. Room was spacious with plenty of hot water for the shower! We would definitely stay at La Boheme again!

Room was a nice size and atmospheric. The breakfast were great. Perfect location. We really felt like we were in Italy. Good advice on historic attractions. We felt comfortable and safe in the midst of a beautiful city. The room was quiet at night and it was fun to wake up to the sounds of the city in the morning.

An explanation of the heating system the first night would have been helpful
