We were a group of four, occupying two rooms. We needed wheelchair access and were placed in the annex where there is a small elevator. The hotel is located in the centre of Luca, on one of the main roads, just a short distance from Piazza dell'Anfiteatro, so no shortage of nearby restaurants. Getting to the hotel can be tricky, it seems the city is not well mapped by google and other satnavs, so after a couple of attempts, we called the hotel and were guided in turn by turn by the receptionist. Everything in Lucca is nearby and it does not take long to acquaint yourself with this beautiful city. A stroll around the entire city walls is a must and will orientate you for the rest of your stay, as will climbing to the top of one of the many towers. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable and guided us on the best places to eat. We were only there for two nights, so we need to get that right first time! Breakfast was ok, buffet and self-service.

Hotel La Luna was just a lovely place to stay whilst we explored Lucca and the surrounding area. It was very well located for the Centro Storico, only a couple of hundred yards from the Piazza Antifeatro. The rooms were very comfortable (especially the beds) and were always kept clean and tidy. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff in the hotel and they were very attentive to guests. There was a good range of foods available for breakfast each day from pastries and cakes to boiled eggs to the traditional cooked meats and cheeses. All in all a very pleasant stay.

Great location and staff. Nice sized room, very clean. Good breakfast buffet which you can take outside if the weathers good. Easy walking to numerous sights, bars and restaurants in the centro storico.

Like anywhere in Italy can be noisy at night, sometimes people partying outside or nearby till 2 or 3 am. Right opposite a restaurant so noise from there till that shuts about 11pm. No soundproofing - couldn’t have the window open due to the noise and the ac didn’t work so the room got pretty hot and stuffy at night… Didn’t ruin our stay but light sleepers beware…

In the city center, a nice classical italian hotel, the bathroom is very nice and clean, but the room is a bit small, the receptionists arr very friendly and helpful

The furnitures in the rooms are a bit old, and the rooms arr dark, could be some more lighting. The breakfast is overally good, but there are no vegetables, what I really missed. There are only small connector types in the room, so i only could charge my laptop in the bathroom.

The hotel is located in the VERY centre of Lucca. 10 minutes walking distance into every city porta. We needed parking and we have heard "just a second please" and among the labyrinth of narrow streets the hotel staff immediately found for us a parking place. Room was very convenient, everything clean, breakfast quite tasty with enough selection of meals.

You have to note that in the very centre of the Lucca it can be a bit noisy even in the evening till midnight. We liked it. If you can accept - the accommodation is perfect.

it was very nice…the breakfast was good. Jacobo (don’t know how to spell his name) was very friendly and made good cappuccino’s. The dark-haired girl at the desk was very helpful and spoke English. The location was excellent…lovely place to sit and enjoy outside. This was the second time I’ve stayed there and I was very pleased. it was a Rick Steve’s suggestion. loved staying in the walled Lucca…beautiful, safe, clean.

Perfect location for visiting Lucca. Size of room was very comfortable. we like the sitting aread at the entrance to the room. Breakfast was great. Reception and cleaning personnel very friendly, helpful and competent. Small detail, but unlike many hotels, the tissu boxes always had plenty of tissus. AC was discreet and could be turned off during cooler nights. Towels were the nice absorbent terry-cloth ones, not the thick soft ones that just push the water around your body. Nice to have two separate washrooms, one with shower, the other with WC.

Faucets on the wash basins were small and not very practical. Would have been nice to have kettle & coffee maker (or at least instant coffee) in room. As an early riser I like a coffee first thing in the morning. the 7:30 start for breakfast was a bit late.

The hotel couldn't be more central, perfect to visit Lucca, especially if you don't have much tima. Staff has been very friendly and helpful, like proper Tuscan people. Lovely breakfast, maybe not 10,000 options, but good ingredienti, genuine food. Parking within the city walls and not too far from the facility is a plus.the room is very comfortable and clean

I didn't realise the cost for a cot was not included, but that was probably my fault. If I need to find something else, be aware that you need to walk a little from the car park.

we had a fab bedroom looking out to the street where we watched people having a great time eating and enjoying Lucca below us. The breakfast was great ...one of the best of my trip around this area of Italy so thank you, Hotel la Luna, we are making plans to return soon. When we were leaving, we actually came back to have a drink in the bar on their lovely outside terrace.

Should have spend more than one night there!!

Hotel is lovely & typically Italian. Location is excellent close to main thoroughfare. Staff very helpful and friendly. Breakfast is very good with plenty of choice. Our room was cleaned & towel’s changed every day. Best place to stay in Lucca.

Everything was excellent and can’t think of any criticism.
