Whenever we go to Corsica we stop on the way home in Lucca and in the Villa Catelli. Céleste is a very friendly and helpful person. Villa Catelli has become a little home on the way home. Meeting locals in a country makes a visit so much more real. As long as we will be able to come to Lucca we will choose Villa Catelli. We also like is that we can use their bycicles. It is worth cycling on the city wall on Lucca. Villa Catelli is right next to the city walls. Arrividerci Celeste and also Ilaria (her twin sister). See you soon again.

We received a warm welcome from Celeste even though we arrived much earlier than planned. Our room was on the first floor and was excellent in all respects. Celeste handed over pre-prepared maps to each of us, showing entry into Lucca, typical routes around and locations of favourite restaurants & gelateria indicated. It was a great help. Breakfasts were very good and tasty and we especially liked the scrambled egg…..a “must have” for us each morning. We thought the villa perfectly located, just 5 minutes outside the city walls. We also loved the outdoor garden area, finishing off each day sitting out there with a glass of red reviewing our day & planning the next …a lovely finish to each day. At the end of our stay Celeste sorted our Trenitalia tickets to Pisa Aeroporto & printed them off for us – a brilliant additional service.

Location was great. just outside of old walls. walking distance. parking was on site behind security gates which was comforting. property was beautiful located down a road full of trees. very large rooms with lovely bathroom and old style windows. breakfast was superb. plenty of choice for a long day ahead. every where was clean and tidy and old style. the host was absolutely wonderful. always available via phone and so helpful for hints and tips on travelling eating and sites to see. she really helped all guests and had lovely chats at breakfast. the best choice. thank you.

We stayed here on our way back to Pisa and I would really recommend! The B&B is super cute and just a 5 minute-walk from the city walls. We were able to park the car inside the property (for 10 euros) and the check-in instructions were very easy to follow. We were also able to leave the car there for the rest of the day after check-out whilst we went sightseeing in Lucca. Celeste, the host, was very attentive in case we needed anything. The room was big and the AC was working perfectly. Would stay here again!

The bed wasn't very comfortable, the mattress seemed quite old.

This is the perfect place to be ! Celeste and her brother in law are the perfect hosts ! We love Lucca but we adore Villa Catelli ! The breakfast was amazing, the scrambled eggs , the pancakes, the cappuccino… The room and the villa itself were wonderful! We can not say with words how much we love this place . We will certainly come back , it won’t take us long 😍. Lucca itself is a wonderful cozy town , second time we stayed there. Firenze and Siena are not far away. Grazie mille Celeste . Location is perfect. Very close to one of the ports of the old centre of Lucca. The room itself is spacious and and the bed is perfect. The breakfast is very complete and on request you can order fried or boiled eggs.

Just a suggestion for the drinks during breakfast: it would be nice if the drinks are cold. It is a pity that the price for parking is not included in the rental price.

Clean and comfortable 3-star B & B, exactly as described. An easy 15 minute stroll to the city centre. Quiet building in a quiet neighborhood. It has on-site parking which is a good idea since the on street parking was busy. Friendly and efficient hosts and a typical Italian buffet breakfast. Recommended and we' d stay again.

We were a late arrival - if the ferry had arrived in Livorno on time, we should have been there about 8pm. As it was we arrived just after 9pm. Celeste was there to meet us and open the gate to park our car. At check in, she gave us a map of the city, with a route for the best shopping and eating. There are bicycles for guest use - but we didn't try those, preferring to walk. If we were to stay longer, we'd definitely use them. We only stayed one night. The room is airy and bright when the shutters are open. If you close the shutters, it becomes almost pitch black, which is great for a good night's sleep in summer. The air conditioning works in an unobtrusive manner - keeps the room cool, but is quiet. My wife and I slept amazing well, which is unusual for us for a first night in a new bed. There are earplugs available in the room - we didn't need them. Breakfast was plentiful and tasty. Some you order the night before, some you can self-serve. Celeste asked how we found the pies and cookies (self-serve), but we were too full to try them. So she packed some for us to take with us. This came in very handy when an accident on the A12 blocked the motorway for about forty minutes - the pies made for an excellent lunch. The cookies we took home and were appreciated by our family. There is a fridge available for guest use, including an ice compartment. This was great for us, as we were transporting some sausages we'd bought from Corsica; it enabled us to refreeze our cooler ice bags. We checked out after breakfast, but we were able to leave our car at the property and go into the city. On return, we retrieved our food and ice from the fridge and picked up the pies. Celeste opened the gates for us to drive out. The villa is very close to the city walls. Lucca is absolutely beautiful and we intend to visit again. Naturally, we'll stay at the villa.

There was nothing we didn't like.

Friendly host Celeste. We talked a lot at breakfast and I found out so much about the area from her. Breakfasts were lovely and varied. Their Pain au chocolat was the best I've tasted. The room was lovely and cool for sleeping in the heat of the day and at night. Good recommendations for places to visit and eat.

Everything was great!

We were made to feel very welcome and at home by Celeste; she was extremely helpful in advising on places to eat and visit. The breakfast was fresh and delicious, especially the scrambled eggs. The room (Room 2) and facilities were great; loved the opportunity to buy cold drinks from open fridge. Location was just outside city walls with secure parking, and a very quick walk into the city. Bicycles to use if wanted. Quiet garden at rear with canopy and chairs.

There was nothing to dislike. The house is on a road, which is not very busy but earplugs were even provided in case wanted.
