The location is about 2 walking blocks from the city wall, which you can walk through to get into the town. There is a fantastic restaurant on the way, which we ate at twice because we thought it was so good. Our room was room No,3 and it was on the 1st floor (above ground floor) and was spacious and bright. The bathroom was large with lots of room for the shower, bidet, toilet and lavatory, and with a huge window for light and to open for fresh air. We enjoyed the Italian/Europen style breakfast each day. Staff were friendly and helpful. We would stay here again when we next visit this area. The town is a 10-minute leisurely walk from Villa Romantica. Parking is available for Euros10 per day - But we saw plenty of parking on the street outside the place. There is a football stadium 75 meters away, so I am guessing on game day it could get pretty congested with people/cars, but we didn't run into any game days. Lots of nice restaurants in Lucca to visit. Friendly bars for a drink and some crisps before meals. Overall, I rate this place highly, with great location, Comfy firm bed, spacious room, large bathroom, a small refrigerator, OH and the windows have wooden shutters inside to close for a dark room all morning long for a nice lie-in. We loved the garden. It was a bit chilly at night and we couldn't take advantage of if but during the day it was beautiful. The house was in a courtyard full of trees and numerous birds we're singing throughout the day. The bathroom was big, clean and well ventilated with the help of a big window. The breakfast was good and diverse. You had a lot of options to pick from. The coffee was something to die for. Amazing.

The heaters did not warm the room and during the night it got a bit chilly. The air conditioning also did not help with warming even if it was put on full heat. But it was overall a beautiful place. We're sorry we only stayed one night.

Laura and Chiara who run the Villa Romantica are delightful and made us very welcome. The entrance to the Villa is lovely with a sitting room and a real fire. Our bedroom was on the ground floor and nicely decorated and furnished. On our return from the town centre each day Laura gave me some milk to add to the tea which we could make in our room. Breakfast is very nice and the girls work hard to ensure everything is good.

It is a 15 minute walk into town and on one occasion the road to the villa was closed because there was a match at the nearby football stadium. This did necessitate a long walk around when we were tired . However the loveliness of the villa and the delightful girls does make up for that. I imagine it is delightful in the summer as there is a lovely garden.

Laura, the manager could not have been more helpful. Our stay here was very, very enjoyable. The room, wifi , cleanliness etc were great. Location is less than a 10 minute walk to the city. Parking in the hotel grounds was available, which we did book. In the off season there appeared to be safe parking on the street, but the hotel's parking is available and cheap. Breakfast was very tasty and fresh coffee was readily available. It is a very nice breakfast room with a lovely garden view. We would definitely stay here again, if we returned to Lucca. Lucca is a fascinating city and well worth visiting.

If there is a football match on at the nearby stadium then some of the roads back to the hotel can closed for the match, so be aware that it adds a little to your walking time.

Spacious, characterful house set In lovely gardens. We had the garden suite with a sitting room and bedroom. Both areas were very comfortable. There were coffee making facilities and a fridge in the room. The breakfast room was very small and as a large group, the facilities were challenged. The two staff on duty did a splendid job of keeping plates filled and making coffee. The tables had not been cleared where arrived, but it wasn’t an issue to wait.

My partner and I really enjoyed our stay in Villa Romantica. Room was super clean and tidy, it has everything you need. Staff members are very friendly and helpful, they pay attention to small details. Breakfast was was fresh and delicious. We also received a useful information about Lucca, including main attractions and places to eat, which we found very useful. This place is one of the best I ever stayed, highly recommended! This is a gorgeous b&b in a nice quiet residential part of Lucca. Chiara and Irene cannot do enough to make your stay as comfortable as possible, they are superb at their job. The room was large and beautifully decorated, and the breakfast was generous and plentiful. We loved it and will definitely return.

Lovely stay in a beautiful room with onsite parking at €10 per day. Breakfast was great in a lovely garden room. Chiara and Laura were very welcoming and helpful with lots of recommendations for restaurants. The property is a short walk from the town and a 25 min walk from the railway station. We would definitely stay again.

It is a lovely villa set in a nice garden, walking distance from Lucca. It was a nice retreat from the heat - an air conditioned, scented hotel with background piano music. The bed was comfortable and both the bedroom and bathroom were very clean. We also enjoyed the breakfast.😀
