Hotel Ideal Boutique

Ideal Boutique occupies a great location, just across the street from Napoli Centrale station, within Piazza Garibaldi. Loved the large hotel room that included a dresser with large drawers and a large wardrobe but still had unoccupied space to fully open a large suitcase on the floor. Superb, firm, comfortable mattress. A refrigerator with freezer in the room. WiFi worked really well as did the air conditioning. Breakfast on the first floor was okay. A small grocery is about a block away, and Ristorante E Vicchiarelle is a must-visit on Piazza Garibaldi, just steps from the hotel. The grilled chicken along with sides of zucchini and of grilled peppers and eggplant parmigiana were amazingly tasty.

A negative was the discovery of a few ants in the room and a minor dirty spot on a pillowcase. Not sure whether this is representative or simply a one-off: life happens, creatures find their way into most residences and perfection is a rarity. I did report to the receptionist, on the morning of my departure, the discovery of where ants were entering the bathroom through a hole, and she did report this to hotel management, which is what I would want as a response. Had I been staying more than 36 hours I'd have requested a new room, but this was a quick stay and I was out of the room for much of it.

The hotel is close to the train station and the airport bus stop. Under the hotel, there are several coffees and restaurants if You'd like to grab something to eat. The room was well equipped for an overnight stay (fridge, safe, hairdryer, mirrors, capsule coffee machine, hangers for your clothes). The balcony was surprisingly big. We stayed here for a night to catch an early bus to the airport, so it was perfect.

The area is generally not the best, but I never felt unsafe because the cafes and restaurants nearby were quite packed until late. The bathroom is relatively small. The air conditioner made a strange noise during the night but it wasn't disturbing.

Great location to the train and excellent breakfast. The room was long walk but it had a great view to the streets. The bus to the ferry to Capri was across the hotel.

Even though the location was literally by the train station, the direction took me everywhere but the hotel. If you do choose this location, cross the street from Naples Centrale Station and walk on the left side from the nearby stairs of Piazza Garibaldi. You will see all the hotels on that side.

Location just beside the train station was very practical. There was many restaurants and grocery store near by. The place was clean, cleaned every day, comfortable

The noise level is just ridiculous. I had read about the fact it was noisy in the reviews but I am a city girl and used to quite some noise so I was okay with that. But here… it is at a completely other level! You can hear everything happening in the street. Somebody going in the trashes, people talking, restaurants staff displacing chairs. etc. I actually got up a few times because I thought the window was opened. But nope, it was well closed. I would have been in a tent and I think the insonorisation would have been the same. Anyway… it makes you dépendant of what is happening outside! Hope for a quiet night outside or bring earplugs. Everything else was fine.

Excellent location, just opposite the station. it’s a budget hotel but the room was comfortable, there was a fridge, shower, tv, air conditioning and wifi. There is a 24 hour front desk and the staff are helpful. I felt safe there as a solo traveller (female in 30s), there were restaurants on either side so it felt safe walking around in the evenings. The alibus to the airport leaves just across the road from the hotel. I didn’t have the breakfast but it looked nice!

It is a budget hotel but is good value for money. I don’t think there is a lift so something to bear in mind if there are mobility issues.

Location was phenomenal! If they had had a breakfast set-up, I would have loved to try it. The balcony attached to my room was so great! loved the complimentary coffee they offered in the room. The restaurants and coffee houses right on that same street is a dream! Likewise with public transportation! The staff was extremely helpful in booking a cab for an early morning flight.

I would have appreciated a breakfast option. There should also be some sort of loyalty insentive. I see myself returning, and would like to know that they know me.

Location is perfect for those who want to explore Napoli. Next to the main train/metro station and in walking distance from the historical center of Napoli. Rooms are not very big but they are clean, well equipped and comfortable. In our case we had a small terrace which compensated for the lack of extra space inside the room. Last but not least the staff was extremely helpful, kind and attentive to all our needs. Also their recommendations on things to do and places to visit was spot on. Really enjoyed our stay there and we'd gladly go back again. Highly recommend it.

Can get a little noisy during the early morning hours as a result of the thin walls. Mostly from the corridor not from the other rooms though.

Great price, at least in in winter. Clean room, small, but functions well. Good AC/Heater unit and balcony door opens too!

Rough having to use the stairs as there's no elevator for guests. The Bookings listing said Continental Breakfast way down in the description, but not as a 'headline'. When there, we were told no breakfast - later we walked past their breakfast area during the morning, it was empty. Seems to me that they don't serve breakfast, at least in the off-season - no big deal, but they should double-check their listing with Bookings.

Good location at Piazza Garibaldi, a busy area right in front of the train station, very safe. Receptionists were friendly. Lots of restaurants around. It was nice that they had TV (all in Italian) and fridge. It is in a very convenient location. There is self service laundry nearby. You can leave your luggage there before check in. Price is good but can be better.

The lift is outside the building; I climbed two floors instead. The bin is a little small and only in the bathroom. The wifi disconnects after a while and you need to enter the password again.

As a female solo traveller with a questionable sense of direction, I was concerned both about finding the hotel + safety aspects. I wanted to stay in Piazza Garibaldi as it's so convenient for the train station, but it has something of a reputation. I booked a taxi from the airport via booking.com + the service was excellent - the driver pointed me in the right direction + I found it easily. The young woman on reception was friendly + helpful + spoke English after realising my Italian is poor. Single room was clean + comfortable, very clean sheets, nice bathroom, good shower, nice towels air con worked well. Great location, it feels safe as there are cafes + restaurants each side. I even ventured out for a beer! 2 mins walk to train station next morning I'd highly recommend + would stay again.

Something of a struggle to get my suitcase up 2 flights of stairs with no lift, so not recommended for those with limited mobility.
