If you like belle epoque grandeur, then Hotel Wagner is your place :-) Don’t listen to some previous reviews, the hotel is not dated at all. My room was spacious, the bed large and comfortable. The bathroom very big including a bidet (that is standard in Italy, but rarely in outher countries). The reception and all other staff very pleasant. Location is perfect if you want to be in the very centre of Palermo. I booked the hotel some 6 weeks ahead, probably this is why the rate felt good value.

The breakfast room is on the top floor and not enough protection against very strong Sun - the brekfast room was too hot even at 8 am. Generally the decoration of brekafast room was basic - not up to the hotel grandeur. Strange wifi system, each room has a code for a different router - this doesn’t work most of the time. Then reception gives you access toa general router - why not start with that?

Very good hotel. Decorated in palazzo style, lovely furniture. Beds and bathrooms looking brand new. Lounge very pretty and super comfortable. Roof terrace of good size and well furnished. Breakfast nice and well served, in spite of COVID19 restrictions. Well organized parking service, after Florence experience, we were very grateful for zero problems and perfect service. Amazing, well trained and polite staff. We were taken care of really well. Very good place to stay and walk around to explore Palermo sights.

We loved the location, which was convenient, the high standards both in terms of amenity and of staff and the attention to detail. The bedroom we had was large, with comfortable sofa,and completely quiet at night. Breakfasts were very good:the housekeeping standards in terms beds, bathroom, linen and attention were of the highest order. The decor is grand, theres a bar, and we found the front of house staff extremely efficient and helpful For our four - night stay, this was as close to perfect as one gets.

Comfortable and relaxing private hotel that was ideal for visiting Palermo. The staff are exceptionally friendly and looked after our needs without any qualms. Breakfast each morning is excellent with a wide range to choose from (Gluten included) and the breakfast staff, in particular David, made our start to each day most welcoming. The decor is traditional old fashioned Italian and lends the hotel to a mock Georgian ambiance. The bar is intimate and the bar staff are again excellent. Reception will cater to your every whim and perform without any hesitancy. they are on the ball at all times of day. Mobility is something that I have to consider these days and apart from a dozen steps at the entrance, there is absolutely nothing and nowhere to hinder your access throughout the hotel. Location is spot on but as a word to the wise buy a decent map of Palermo. You will get lost - and join the millions before you! It’s a very confusing place with a traffic etiquette that is alien to any logical mind. I guess it’s driven by the Italian’s love-of shouting at each other and gesticulation. Why bother being considerate and patient when it’s more about me, me, first than merely denting your car or having a pedestrian bang his walking stick over the bonnet; after all a pedestrian crossing is for everyone (so be on your guard) It’s all a battle of wills.

There wasn’t an awful lot - perhaps next time I’ll ask for a room with a bath?

Very good breakfast selection, clean room with comfortable bed and pillows, very friendly and helpful staff, ideal location for exploring Palermo historic centre area, plenty of nearby restaurants, bars and shops

Very noisy until early hours of most mornings from road traffic on surrounding streets, Palermo drivers are obsessed with sounding their vehicle horns for no reason at all (not hotels fault) so request a quieter room if possible, also it's a fair walk from the train/bus station along probably the busiest street in Palermo if your carrying luggage

Free breakfast was great, especially because of the multitude of gluten-free options. Another bonus at breakfast was the barista, Davide, who greeted us with a big smile every morning and gave us lots of recommendations for places to see in Sicily. The hotel was beautiful, including the lobby and rooftop bars.

My only complaint is that the windows in the first floor rooms are far from soundproof, making it difficult to sleep at night. Hopefully, the hotel will replace thse windows to make for a more comfortable stay. Other than that, I would stay at this hotel again.

what did we like???? Everything!! From our initial encounter from checking in to our room, breakfast for all dietary requirements met to skipping out right in the middle of Palermo to see the sights to the amazing cocktail skills at the bar to the glorious shower and even comfier bed!!! need I say more???

minor detail don’t bother us but our room was on the inside of the building so no views but when you have it on your doorstep who needs that and I’m sure some of the rooms have amazing views! the breakfast is served at the top so you can get a gel if the city x

Hard to think of something. Sicily is horrible. I have been in at least 50 or 60 countries in the world. This is only comparable with a poor 3rd world forgotten country. So sad. Even my 5 star hotel bedroom.was smaller than my bathroom. And the whole hotel had a rancid smell. Can't they spend on some deep cleaning? Does all the money has to go to their pockets?

Roads, streets, old houses, dirtyness, dirty beaches, ppl always trying to take advantage, poor hygiene,rudeness, thief taxi drivers, scammers,so much, very little to like.

The Wagner is absolutely gorgeous! A perfect blend of modern conveniences and old world charm. Hotel Manager Gisela was most accommodating for our wedding group of 28, she made sure everything was taken care of and went smoothly. She added such a personal touch to our entire stay. The staff is hand picked and seems like one big family. There was nothing we needed that they couldn’t handle. Would definitely recommend and return to.
